I just want to learn abit more about how ppl effeciently make their gold.
i have about +250hours played, made about max 10mill.
Now i do see alot of players running around with 100+ mill with way less played time.
- i know some are very lucky on their drop and its all about luck.
- some farm ah ( i used to do that in wow, but find it hard in d3 becouse of bots)
I know i must be very unlucky with my drops, i farm both act 1 and 3, even done alot of pygmys.
and i switch over to about 300% mf when the elites dies.
Its kinda boring to runn around with 45k (dh) dps without progressing at all..
this is not a whine post, its just a question about how you make your gold. and yes im abit fustrated, but thats it.
Farm act 2, or act 1 on my monk with friends, throw up any items i think might sell for bid only on AH, and salvage what doesn't sell.... sold a couple pieces for 2-5m that way.
Under 200 hours played and I've gotten several dozen drops worth 1 million or more. I farm act 1 in a high MF suit. There's no reason to do the higher acts, even with great gear. The stuff in act 1 dies so fast that in an hour I can get 100+ rares. Even with a lower chance of being high iLvl, I'll get more high iLvl rares than I would get in act 3-4 since in that same hour I'd only get 15-20 rares, not to mention die constanty.
I'm getting increasingly frustrated with this game
I've never been over 1 million
My DH had 52K DPs 1 week ago and now its on 22K... I cant for the life of me figure out why, none of my items have changed that did not contribute to DPS.. so now I'm in a much worse state trying to farm act 1 and 2
I've recently resorted to gob farming in act 2, but my DPS is so low that I constantly lose goblins before I can swap to MF and kill
I cant afford items selling at over 1 million a piece, even when I play public with 3 other players, I die so often that my repair bills cause me to only make 100k for hours of farming
GOD so annoyed and so frustrated.. back to Quake Live for me, much more fun killing noobs

Aside from the attackspeed nerf, the Sharpshooter passive might be deceiving sometimes, it leaves you at 100% crit chance and greatly increases the dmg shown on the character sheet (and that instantly drops when you attack). Maybe you swapped that one out?
Lucky drops = tons of gold. Bad drops = not so much gold

I have been tampering with skills based on some vid guides I've been watching.. so the theory is, if I set Sharpshooter back, I should regain that 52K?

Sharpshooter increases your critical hit chance by 3% every second you don't attack something, to a max of 100%. And since your base damage displayed uses your crit % as part of its calculation, you're damage is inflated while not attacking. So yes, putting Sharpshooter back on will raise your damage back to 52k while not attacking after it's fully stacked to 100% crit.
As for making gold, I've been farming act 1. I've got a gold/magic find hybrid set that I can easily clear act 1 elites with. It has around 225% GF and 125% MF. I see 1k+ stacks of gold all over the place and usually get 1 yellow off of elites/rares even before I have a 5 stack of NV. With a 5 stack, I get as many as 3 yellows per elites/rare. Just last night, I cleared almost all of act 1 areas and netted over 300k in gold (after about 30k of repairs) and 7 ilvl 63 items. A typical run will get me 2-3 ilvl 63s, last night was pretty lucky.
My wife also farms act I and she got this last night.
I'm slowly grabbing gold find gear. Up to 75% base right now. Love those 2500 gold drops.
Farming Act 2 mostly because I can breeze right through it with dying maybe once or twice due to lag or bad luck.
I do want to try the suggestion someone else brought up on these forums. The notion you need money to make money works in this game also. Buy 100 million gold off a farmer for whatever the price is currently (like $1.50 per million from last night spams). So you invest $150 into gold. Use that gold to buy one single big item on the gold auction house. Change over to the real money auction house and post that item for $250. Repeat over and over until you have either a lot of money or a lot of gold.
Using that method you need to know what items are hot and what are not. So there is a risk involved. But if something is posted for 100 million gold, odds are it will be good... most likely perfect stats.
I'd try it if my wife didn't check our checking account every week lol.
maybe not on these forums because everyone here is a cheap ass haha. I stopped posting stuff here because people just won't give what the item is worth on the AH. Even with the 15% cut I make a lot more gold off the AH than I do here.
Figured I'd get the best gear faster by just playing the AH whole day instead.
Yep, trading is king for an ordinary player. However, crafting for a fee beats every other D3 activity by a huge margin if you can advertise yourself enough to get clients.
I trade currency in other games for it here, mostly Isk in Eve Online though. Basically everyone you meet in other games either plays Diablo 3 regularly or at least has it. Handing over 50 billion Isk in Eve for 100 million gold here is nothing considering how easy it is to make money in that game. I've also traded Dota 2 items and Steam games for 10-40 million gold a piece. Dota 2 invite made me 65mil.

Cheap ass or not there are 20 euro amulets better than the one you showcased.
That's true, of course, but if I put a brand new Ferrari up for sale in the local paper for $15, that doesn't really make Ferraris worth $15 unless it causes all other people with Ferraris to believe they're only worth $15. And even then, that's probably a temporary wrinkle in the market and not a permanent trend.
I guess what I'm saying is that the "value" of an item is what someone will pay for it. If a person who purchased an item for $20 (in this case an amulet) would have forked over $150 for it, then its value is still $150, that person just got a really good deal. It's basically the exact opposite of shitty gear (i saw a 47 int, 200+ vit amulet up for 50 million gold yesterday) being far overvalued.

Actually, it's not that you "lost" that 52k damage, it's that you weren't doing that in the first place.
Essentially, if you have a ton of +crit damage and sharpshooter, the game will take your actual dps and add the crit damage on top of it (essentially adding anywhere between +50% to +150/200% damage), and show it as your dps, when during a real fight it's not going to be that much (because critting will reset your "bonus crit chance").
So if your actual dps is 30k, with enough +crit dmg and sharpshooter it could show 70-80k on your character sheet.
Keep the character page open during a battle when you have sharpshooter, you'll see your damage go up and down all the time, that's the sharpshooter bonus crit chance being taken into account.
Sharpshooter is a great passive, but I'm not sure it's worth it with a high attackspeed build (because the crit chance resets so much). I think it's a lot better with a high dmg, kiting, slower attack-speed one (with maybe cluster shot or multishot full broadside).
Anyone want to take me abit under their wings? learn me what sells or not i mean what i can gain on? and if i make abit u ofc get some out of it... Glesha#2386
I farm Whimsyshire to get my money. I probably get 5m profit on an average day. Then I find some items worth a lot more like a helmet I sold fast for 15m the other day.
i cant get money, im stuck on 1-2 millions since forever, maybe i should start selling unids but i cant resist to click them and i always have to vendor the shit i get from 63ilvl unids... worst luck ever
I farm gold with 200+ (base) GF on heart of sin NM with my DH. Having a 1k DPS xbow helps out a lot to shorten the runs to about 15-17 min. On average, I make about 80k.
Act 1 Inferno:
Start on Imprisoned Angel quest at The Cursed Hold part.
Go through Cemetery of the Fallen, Fields of Misery, Festering Woods, Southern Highlands, Northern Highlands, Halls of Agony Level 2 through to the Butcher.
Easily 15+ elite/champion packs, 2 bosses, upwards of 7-8 Resplendent Chests, usually well over 250,000 gold, done just over 90 minutes.

Wasn't that nerfed way earlier than 1 week ago?? 1.0.3?? not 3.a..

So act I can be worth it if you get lucky enough to find something like that. Similar ones were going for 100mil and $150 on RMAH.

Word, AH game is a lot of fun w/ bidding for items w/ no buyout.
