yar gotta love that .... sleep and dont play for 3 days and whe you come to start playing you find out that your account has been compromised ... and you manage to get a little advance against them but their root are well built ... aka they have my email almost done ... and they keep not letting me go anywhere ...
now that the attack has een settled and they won ( the chinese bastards ) well my email is theirs and my account is the same ... trying to call blizzard and well they are somehow in trouble atm ...
i am about to give up on blizzard and their way they look at security and games ( multiplayer only and retarded all game in one account ) ... i just want to play the game but now i cant and well i havnt opened any phishing email and there is no way a spyware is on my computer soo the only option left is something is wrong on blizzard's side ... i wonder what is the next step to take ... when your main email is taken and your battlenet account is taken i guess i am fucked and the 200+$ i spent on all my games is gone for now ... i have been playing rift since it started and not one time have i heard or seen someone being hacked on that game i wonder why i begin to spiral into madness today cause its a pain to see yourself being attacked and not being able to do anything about it ... why are the phone lines for support on ?! ??
mleh i'm just gonna go in a corner and hate the whole world ( china more than the rest )
Blizzard's security is not the problem.. It's on your end. Like Makesh said, you should be taking every precaution necessary to protect your account. $6 to save your BNet account that you've spent $200, that's something you should have considered.
It's probably best not to submit to xenophobia. I'm pretty sure not all Chinese are hackers, and not all hackers are Chinese.
Blizzard take security very seriously, but you have to help them out. Use an authenticator. No, I'm not blaming you for being hacked (it always sucks and I'm sorry for it), but at the same time it isn't Blizzard's fault either. They haven't been compromised. The hacker got a hold of your password through other means: it doesn't necessarily mean you did anything questionable and accidentally got a keylogging virus. It could just be something like that Adobe Flash flaw that caused widespread account compromises a couple of years back. Not your fault, not Blizzard's.
I would also imagine their phone lines are busy because, y'know, new game. It happens a lot and not just to Blizzard. You could also submit an online ticket, I believe? Might work better.
Final note... You probably don't see hacks in Rift because the potential market for gold buying is far, far smaller than it is in WoW. Why go for the 1 million (or whatever, cba to find exact numbers) subscriber market when you could go for the 10 million subscriber market? Or 6.3 million (and counting), in the case of D3.
You spend 200+$ on games but are too cheap to spend 5$ on an authenticator, or too lazy to get the free mobile version?
It should come to no surprise that BNet accounts are very popular among account thieves, so why not take that extra precaution?
i have the mobile authenticator .... i dont like the physical one cause i have memory problem and i love to move around to friends and when i forget it im fucked and i alway have my phone soo i alway have my mobile authenticator i have no spyware i have scanned last week and today and i do not go for phishing attempts ....

It's not Just key loggers.... People reuse their passwords and other sites get hacked
i have 15 passwords for every sites and games i use all different that i keep on a paper that i have stocked but i remember most of them soo i do not need them and the site that i dont care much i use a easy to remember one but for my diablo account i use a medium one but cannot be guessed and i know how keylogger works and how to make it happen and there is no way i got on in my machine as i do everything to not have direct connection to fishy company and networks
in rift the potential for farming is pretty high since it is not hard and people hoard their plat like crazy soo hacking them would be easy too but what they have in place slow down the hacker soo they are discouraged aka a blockage if you log from another place ...
my only mistake was believing into hotmail to host my email i guess since their way of hosting it make it soo succeptible to attacks and they handle very badly any support
oooh and edit yes i am pissed off at the moment since it is 90% it is an exploit theorised that can happen in the game making and the only problem i have with blizzard at this very moment is the fact that any support which the advertise to be open at 7am pacific to 8 pm pacific time open phone line for help which is not working at the moment and yeah i am pissed off soo i will say shit that dosnt matter and xenophobic ....

Do you mean the authenticator on smart phones, or the dial in authenticator? The first one should work, the second doesn't work with D3.
Also, guys, let's not blame him for getting hacked. It isn't his fault: nobody asks to be hacked. Let's direct our anger at the people who deserve it: the hackers. Not the OP. Not Blizzard.

there is no one that deserve the hacking and the only reason they do it is because there is market because people are too lazy to play the game normally by themselve which result in people being targeted by talents people and yes emails are easy target they have my mail which is really bad for me ( i dont care about the mail its just for blizzard gaming and random game sites ) but yeah i would love to see the phone line open ... soo i can resolve the problem or simply say bye to blizz itha tear on my cheek if they cant help me
if people would stop buying from gold selling company then no one would get hacked ... ence why i hate that this game is online only...
If you have an authenticator congratulations on being the first person that has one to be hacked in D3.
Oh wait, you probably don't because you are full of shit. The way you act here you deserved to get hacked. How about you hone up to your own mistakes for once in your life? You got hacked because of you, not Blizzard.

you obviously dont know shit ... and come shitting on me being pissed off when you didnt understand 1/10 of the post i made ... i am pissed at blizzard because their support phone line is not open on its open hour and they dont tell you any reason other than fuck u its not open ...
i deserve to be hacked? the only reason why blizzard is really responsible at making hacking possible is that their database of players is soo easy to obtain all the playing players .... and ismple collect their emails and then hack the maisl themselves .. since well most company dont give a shit into security and it is really easy to change your password and bypass the authenticator ... and rofl there has been a shitton of people that had the physical authenticator and has been hacked the problem comes that blizzard dont make it secure when it come to your email adress which is pretty much like giving out ip adress is a highway to your account ....
the way i act ? i am pissed off its sunday i have nothing to do and i cant even play the game i bought 2 weeks ago ... and to boot my email is out of reach cause hotmail is a pos ... and the reasons i have posted it to rant yes and to maybe have a blizz rep actually give a view and maybe think about getting more option to people that have their account AND email taken ... since now well you are fucked unless you can get to the support phone line and even then it might not even work ...
bottom of the line you are retarded and unconsiderate the same as me in this post congratulation you are as bad as what you are fighting douche

You are clearly not using an authenticator of any kind. And if the hackers have your email password too ("my email is theirs") then you also clearly have a keylogger.
do you know how keyloggers are logged into your computer and actually work? .... to get one to work you have to first have a direct connection to the other person computer aka to transfer the keylogger which is downloading files or simple getting into their site ... which is practicly impossible to do if you dont go or open their fishing emails ... soo eitheir they are everywhere on the net and own all the sites and fill them with keyloggers eitheir they know how to exploits hotmail...
the exploit is wayyyyy more possible .... when given the tools it is alot easier to exploits than to trick and wait for the fall, i have no keylogger on my machine or on my network and the attack started when i was asleep and my machine was off ... and i have a mobile authenticator i know the physical is better but easier to lose and forget when you are going somewhere else ( how do you think they are hacking soo many accounts ... they are using the emails as a gateway to the account .... )

There is no way on earth for them to hack your account if you have an authenticator attached on your account UNLESS they get to hold your restore code, that means you were dumb enough to leave it somewhere vulnerable (mail which got hacked for example). But still you can get your account back simply by sending blizzard your scanned ID and some of the serial numbers of your games.

Wrong, you obviously know jack shit about computers, I can tell from everything you've been saying.
I would like to say that I got an authenticator when I heard about people getting hacked. Then, a few days later. I got hacked anyway. I don't give my account information to anyone. I don't click on phising scans. I have an anti-virus installed and scan regularly every single week. I've changed my battlnet password. Despite all of this, I still got hacked and lost everything and Blizzard is still not getting back to me.
BackForJustice, do not listen to a majority of these douchebags replying to you. They're just sitting on their highhorse because they think they're hot shit just because they didn't get hacked. The real blame of your problem is the hacker himself. It is the hacker who did this to you and it is his fault. However, I will say that it is Blizzard's job to mitigate the threat of hacking. I have played several MMO's, I have three emails, a twitter, and a facebook, and many other accounts. The only accounts of mine that have gotten hacked are ones associated with Blizzard. So you have every right to be upset. I will say this now so you know: you will get hacked regardless of whether you have an authenticator or not.
Once again, I empathize with your situation because I got hacked even WITH an authenticator on my account. And for everyone who doesn't know Blizzard's policy on what they do when you get hacked, here it is: Blizzard does one of two things. 1) They rollback your character to a save point. This causes you to receive only 80% of your inventory and gold back. 2) They give you nothing at all. If you want proof about option 2, let me show you an actual customer service ticket that one of my friends received:
Hey there!
Thanks for reaching out to us about your Diablo III account, I hope you’ve been enjoying the game. I’m really sorry to hear about the losses you’ve reported and I appreciate the patience you’ve shown us while this was investigated for you. Compromise Restorations for Diablo III accounts are based on automatically saved restoration points. Restorations are provided by rolling the account back to one of these good restoration points. Any progress earned after a during or after compromise is lost when these rollbacks are performed.
However, after a thorough review of your account, we determined that a restoration point does not exist. As a result, the restoration you are requesting could not be provided and I am really very sorry for any inconvenience this may cause for you. Fortunately, part of the fun of Diablo is smashing demons to bits to find awesome items and acquire gold - so while this is definitely a setback, hopefully recovering from it will prove just as fun as before.
According to their policy, you are only allowed a rollback twice in your entire lifetime. With the high amount of hacking going on in their game, this policy is absolutely inane. In essence, what I'm really saying is that you can get hacked at any time regardless of whether you have an authenticator or not or even if you follow their security FAQ. When you do hacked, you need to wait 2-3 days before you actually get a response (whenever I got hacked in WoW, my issues were resolved in under two hours). Then, there's a chance that you will either not get your stuff back at all or you'll only get 80% of your stuff back. And lastly, you can only get your stuff back twice in your entire lifetime.

well thanks for the nightmare that is incoming for me and i hope i wont get the same issue as you did brrr no save state and to reply to the newfags up there that think they are hot shit ... well go back to ur crib and cry .... the thing is blizzard dont leak them but the emails are very easy to access and create a database of them and then pick and choose and hack ... fail pass to the next etc ....
if blizzard would implement a blockage of multiregional use aka i go to the us and need to use my email or back up email ( even more secure ) to get it out or impossible to change the password without confirmation from different emails or max number of changes
all we need is to slow them down soo much that there is no profit to be made doing it is impossible to stop people using their services soo all we can do is slow them down ... i have seen email hacking in action by people that know little of anything and well i am contacting them to get my account back since well it is easier to get any support from blizzard if you have it ... but now i am pretty much fucked i cant even post on the main support forum for diablo 3 since my second account do not have a character on it .... which is borderline retarded
i am calling their support line every 30 minutes and looking around to see what can help me in this quest to get back my lost account and stop them using my character to farm their powerlevels
to sallazar the thing is the only way to contact blizzard if you dont have an account is their support line which seem to work only when they want it to .... which is pretty much my only rant against blizzard and no rofl i havnt left my authenticator in any stupid place and my email password is changed often and no i dont use shit like kitten1111 as password
there is many way to bypass the authenticator as i have heard of and apparently there is some exploit that can be used by the blizzard's server

There's nothing at all wrong with that policy. Clean up your security, and you won't have an issue. I've had a bnet account with WoW, SC2, and now D3 on it since they merged the WoW accounts (I think) three years ago, and had a WoW account since 2005. I've never been hacked on any of those. .
I have three Blizzard games in one Bnet account, plus I have the keys to D2, SC1, and WC3 also on that same Bnet account so I can download no-CD versions. On top of that there's my daughters' account with WoW and SC2 on it. If there was a Blizzard security problem that let the hackers get into the player info, I'd be a great target, with all those on the same account, after all. I'd be a good target, but I've never been touched on either account, because I actually take responsibility for my own security. I suggest you do the same, and quit whining and looking for someone else to blame your problems on, or, quit playing and get over it.
The only restore I've ever used was one time an addon I was using in WoW vendored my entire off-spec gear set, and I put in a ticket and they restored it for me.
Oh, and by the way, the email account I use for my bnet account did get penetrated by hackers one time (gmail account). However, it didn't get them anything, because I don't use the same password for email and bnet.
I got hacked not too far back (I was actually waiting for my authenticator to show up in the mail when it happened).
And Blizzard rolled back my account to a day before the hack within 24 hours.
It was pretty fast, I have no complaints.
Also, while my home PC is a fortress, im pretty sure the PC I logged into at work was not very secure, I was at a different location for 4 days, and was yutzing around on the net from said PC, and lo and behold, I got hacked.
I accept the blame for this.
Since I got my authenticator, I have had no issues.

Account security is critically important though, and to help protect your account, we recommend following the Security Checklist (<http://us.battle.net/security/checklist>) on our Account Security site: <http://us.battle.net/security/>.
If you have further questions regarding this issue, please reply directly to this ticket.
Thank you for contacting us. We hope you continue to enjoy your experience in Diablo III!
Regards,

Doubtful. If you were hacked with an auth they wouldn't have given you a canned response.
Why do you feel the need to lie?
