athene is an absolute douchebag. His tools who donate to him are even more pathetic. He's about as likely to donate to charity as the twats on Jersey shore.
couldnt have happened to a better kissass bloodsucking attentiongrabbing retard.
You sir, are an extremely ignorant kid. Seriously, why would you call a person, who is doing so much good, giving away his OWN stuff and money to charity, organizing charity events, creating a great gaming community like that? Because he seems arrogant in his videos? It's called acting! Athene is just a made up persona, with a really great man behind it. Before opening your mouth next time, I'd better think about how stupid your responses are.
Just because the prick donates to charity as a ploy to get people to watch his stream, don't be foolish enough to pretend he is some philanthropic saint. Dangling needy children on a string like a carrot actually makes his douche persona even more horrid and unbearable.
It says a lot about gamers that someone whom runs his mouth disrespectfully has such a large following. I can say I despise him because he encourages other players to be like "Athene".
If you so much as push the wrong button during a pub game, it's no wonder so many shitty kids are so quick to cuss you out and leave the game like little brats taking their ball and going home.
it's kinda fucked up hes raising money for a charity yet still people bash him
People bash him because of his attitude. I bash Newton and Edison over being self-centered dicks, both of them interfered and physically destroyed anything that could upstage their fame (too bad we didn't get to see all of Hooke's or Tesla's work).
The people avidly defending Athene are proles. Tiger Woods donates MILLIONS to charity, does this mean I have to like him? No it doesn't. The guy is a fucking prick. Just because someone does something good, does not make them a good person. Learn the difference.

It's a fucking COMEDY, he's making those videos for laughs, not to be a freaking model for others. Try to actually watch some of his normal videos, not only the most popular ones (these are usually with him pretending to be a douche). I hate when people bash him just because they saw 1-2 videos of him trolling.

I'm not going to sit down and watch tons of videos of someone I don't like. I've seen enough of the prick, TBH.
It doesn't matter what his intent is...the fact that so many people think his "persona" is cute contributes to the overall shitty attitude that is already prevalent in gaming today.

Is it really a wonder why people 'bash' him? He acts like an arrogant jerk. This is what happens when you act like an arrogant jerk. Personally I think the guy is funny as hell.
Just because someone does something good, does not make them a good person. Learn the difference.
So what is your definition of being a good person then?
Al Capone donated to charity to, then went out at night murdering his "competition". Point being......"charity" is a common ploy used by scum to attract positive attention to themselves.
Athene uses his charity work as a bait to attract viewers and to justify acting like a douche.

So what is your definition of being a good person then?
I would define a good person as someone who consistently does 'good'. Someone to be modeled after; someone who treats others how they would want to be treated. -- Does Athene really meet these descriptions?
Just because someone does something good occasionally, does NOT mean they're a good person.
Quick Example: A while back a tobacco company donated 500 thousand dollars to a food charity drive, then spent 17 million dollars telling people about it via commercials, billboards, radio spots... Whats the prerogative here?

It's 8 digits (in the US at least) and it'll prompt you for it when you log in from an unknown IP address. Further, you can opt-in to have Bnet ask you for your authenticator every single time you log in.
Mine is 6? US.
Mobile is 8, fob is 6.
If he typed his password in the wrong box on a live stream and didn't have an authenticator, well...he'll know better next time. I don't care for his type of 'journalism' and how self-centered he is, but, I won't wish this on him. Besides, he'll get a bunch of publicity out of it.
it's kinda fucked up hes raising money for a charity yet still people bash him
No, what's fucked up is people like you hear the word 'charity' and instantly assume someones a good person. "Oh he must be good, he said he raises money for charity!". Have you every actually researched any charities? If you've donated, have you actually followed the money to exactly where it goes? Of course not, because it makes you feel better inside that you mindlessly gave your money away.
The truth is, there are a LOT of charities out there that can be deemed criminal organizations. Even some of the big named ones, no one can follow the money. No one has any idea where it goes. Here's my favorite example; George Bush and Al Gore started a charity for 9/11 victims right after the attacks. Millions were given. Both those men then go on T.V to state they have no idea where the money went. I'm not saying they stole it, but I am saying that just blindly giving money doesn't do anyone good.
TLDR; Just because someone is sending money to a charity doesn't mean they are doing good, and as such isn't evidence against the fact that athene is a tool.
(For the record, I don't hate Athene. I am jealous of his following and do not fully understand it--I can admit that. I just don't find him particularly funny, talented, or polite.)

I dont watch any of those livestreams, so... just wondering.... he dosnt have an authenticator? I...just..what?
ohwell, thats awkward.
Apparently he didn't, which is mind boggling for someone who streams 95% of the time they're on their computer . I'm certain he will get everything restored fairly soon though. Still funny

Why the fuck would I subject myself to further punishment after watching one video? Should I be required to do a full background check on someone or can I depend on how they portray themselves? Swing from his nuts if you want but I find it hilarious that he got hacked while simultaneously sad that his sheer stupidity might impact a charity.
People can't seem to understand there is a difference in what a person does and what a person is. You can raise money for charity, save a panda every day, rescue cats from trees, train seeing eye dogs and still be a douchebag.
I don't like the dude, It seems to me that all these charity fund raising is 50/50 doing good/getting attention, which in his case means more money personally. He came up with a win/win situation and I fully respect that charity part. That alone is not enough to make the guy likable, even if it is just a 'persona'.
