We all know bosses in D3 are a joke. The champions and special mobs are what really make this game challenging in the harder difficulties.
I offer this challenge to you guys, what's the hardest possible combo you can think of and why?
Assume you are in inferno so you can use 4 different types.
As for me:
Invincible minions
Illusionist
Arcane enchanted
Vortex
Mob: Unburied
Why?
I don't know if this combo is possible they may have made this specific one unavailable. However if it is, every time the mob splits it would get more invincible mobs who spawn more lasers and constantly yank you into them. Lasers are unforgiving and hit harder than lava or poison. The Unburied would create massive area denial and clog small hallways making it hard to escape.
The hardest I have run into so far wasn't really that hard, and was only in Nightmare, it was more who I had with me when I ran into the pack:
Vampiric Plagued.
With Tyrael following me around sometime in Act 3. Who is invincible.
He'd just stand in the poison pools and heal the monster to full in seconds. I'm a monk, so I had to get up near them as well to do much.
The only way I finally got them down was dismissing my follower (I had the templar, I guess I could have switched to a ranged one too), and then waiting for one to focus on Tyrael and lure the other two off on their own and taking them down, I could take them down on my own OK by not standing in posion. When I had just 1 left I couldn't out-dps the health Tyrael was giving it, so I ran to a waypoint, I'd port into town, jump back, hit it a bit and repeat before Tyrael could stand on the posion. Took 10-15 minutes total for me to get them down.
Reason? Look at that! Try to kite? Mortar. Try to deadzone Mortars? Molten. Do damage? Vamp. He just shielded? Full health. I dread the day my Esc Key has to suffer the pounding I give it when I hit "Return to menu" upon finding this pack. Anything with any type of passive would just make that all the worse, like passive knockback, or Teleport, or Succubi. God save you if they're Succubi.
LOL. In the spider caverns today, in Hell I got 3 of those (mortar, jailer, teleport) on a spider group that slows you with those webs. 3 deaths to get em all. (WD)
But how about easiest combinations? As a caster; it's a group that likes to stay away from you (bowman or whatever) who is like molten/plague/arcane.
Mob: any mob that's already fast. This will just rape you, they'll regain massive health circle you kill you quick and have lasers when they're slowed. I pray I never see this.

Dervish mob (the whirlwinding guys in Act 2)

Go into melee, get whirlwinded. Go into range, get mortared. Vortex pulls you in to melee so you can't escape. Damned if you do, damned if you don't.
For the purposes of this game, I'd throw in Invicible Minions and maybe Fast. Or Arcane Enchanted. I'd nerdrage so hard at that combo as a Monk. =/
Though there are a ton of super lame combos out there
I'd dump the vortex for Waller. No escape lol

On any kind of monster really. It doesn't matter what you're fighting, you're going to be trying for awhile.
Ran into a group like that yesterday in Hell. One of the worst experiences of my life.
