Half a week of too easy then half a week of its too hard... Whats next?
I'm glad Blizz isn't over reacting to the poor response from some factions. The game in its current state is well done. There are very few issues but those issues are being exacerbated into some of the most ridiculous tantrums I've ever seen surrounding a game. Itemization is a little off and being looked at for a tweak, inferno is super hard and only the cheese builds are being nerfed. I'm proud of these guys for staying strong in their approach rather than giving in to stupidity.
I'll be happy when the whiners leave the game so the real fans can play in peace.
Whiners? Do you mean competent people that are dedicated to Diablo but actually have a brain? The hype of the game was about a million times bigger than the actual game. The game is easy to beat, in any difficulty. It is horrid when a normal item can out last all items until hell and there is a huge list of other problems with the game. If you cannot see any of it you are just blinded or ignorant.

If the game sucks so bad, why is it still on your hard drive, and why are you still mad?

I grew up gaming without internet forums. The entire phenomenon of being upset with a game developer makes no sense to me. No sense. I cannot imagine spending my time and energy being upset about something I choose to do for recreation.

Competent doesn't mean what you think it means....
I'm not sure what to make of the rest of your post.... people aren't claiming that the game is easy....because it isn't. The topic of this thread is that it's too hard for a few people and they want the game nurfed. Then this claim about a normal item outlasting everything until hell is just absurd. You'd be hard-pressed to find anyone that agrees with you, primarily because your claims simply are not true. I can't help but wonder how much of the game you really have played.

I don't think most of us claim the game is too hard, we claim that it's designed in a way that isn't fun. I'm not sure how anyone can think the game is fun with 1 shot mechanics. It takes out any and all strategy in the game. There was lots of strategy in Hell when my gear wasn't very good and it was a TON of fun. That is all gone in Inferno Act2+ and instead it's only viable to kite every single mob. A very awesome combat system just got really dull....
Even people that overgear the content say your only choice is to kite. At least for the WD class, the endgame is not the least bit of fun.
I played diablo 1 and 2 religiously, delving into the story and game play with the passion of a zealot. After playing d3 with the same passion...this is game feeling completely unfinished.
...
I feel like if blizzard opened up a bigger beta, these issues and many others could have been resolved BEFORE the game was released. Blizzard severely underestimated ( or just ignored) it's gaming community.
Love the game play. But this game just isnt "polished" enough.
A bigger beta most certainly would have helped. It's a shame that the devs were too lazy to provide us anymore than a beta for us to test their game's demo. Some of you laughed when guys like me said you were only testing the game's demo. I wonder where those people are now, seeing as though the game's demo will be normal act 1 up until the skeleton king...
Anyways, most of your complaints boil down to the state of the game's replayability. There's probably very very little you can do now as a fan to fix that problem, seeing as though the game has already been released and the blues are just there to give you feel-good replies and winky faces to your valid concerns.

Some people tell me I'm going to hell. I just let them know that I've already packed my bags!
1. Limiting the amount of 'builds' viable. This may change after people get more gear and are able to clear content with other viable builds, but at the moment most classes have abilities/passives that you HAVE to have in order to progress. (Will have to see how they address the issue or if they will let the gears 'fix' the problem). They did talk about having a lot of 'viable' builds.
On the other hand, I kind of like it that I have to try out different builds to find the most effective way to do stuff. I'm still not sure about the issue >.<
2. The fact that almost everyone thinks they should be able to progress through inferno after a week or less the game has released. Blizzard specifically added another layer of difficulty to add more challenge to the game, for the more hard core players. A few will still find it 'easy', some will be able to progress through it, and most will not be able to get through it. (As with any games with multiple difficulty levels.)
If its not meant for you or if its too difficult to get through a certain portion of the game, farm gear at lower difficulties. As a barb I had to farm act 4 of hell for a while to get through inf Act 1, then farmed a LOT of act 1 to semi-decently get through act 2. It seemed impossible at first for me too but I see hope in being able to progress through the acts with the right gear.
If you think the gear grind is tedious, then I would first ask what you thought the end-game would be like for diablo (especially after they emphasized that inferno will be difficult, and would take a long time for most people to progress through, if not impossible), but as far as I know, there is the option of refunding the game illegitimately through blizzard. I suggest you do so.
Seriously, if enough people refund their game at 60 because they find the gear grind boring, then it might 'force' blizzard to find new ways to make gear grind more enjoyable for more people, which in turn makes the game even more enjoyable for me.
This would have applied to the always online thing as well. If enough people decided to not buy the game because of the 'drm', them it would have 'forced' blizzard to think of a way to make the game playable offline as well, without compromising the security/integrity of the online gameplay.
Game is abit of a letdown simply because legendary items have little to no value so there is nothing to 'pursue' once you've beaten inferno, the story was good tho.
This I don't get. Perfect legendaries are still going to be the most saught after items. Some rares are better than legendaries, sure. It was the same in D2.
This game is pretty polished and bug free for a launch. That being said there are a few things that make me scracth my head.
1. Why no guild or clan support? This baffles me. We don't even have the ability to create custom chat channels.
2. Crafting seems pretty useless at this point. The cost/reward is way too high. Better gear for cheaper can be gotten on the AH, not to mention the luck of the draw of BS.
3. The gear itemization makes me scratch my head. Magic weapons with twice the dps of a rare at the same level is odd to me.
Overall the game is in great shape and I look forward to the improvements Blizz will continue to make.

Specifically I'll mention your last point; Magic weapons drop more often than rares, by alot. And they drop 1000's of times more often then legendaries. They all pull from the same pool of affixes, the difference being that magic items can have the least number of affixes, but those affixes have the same range as rares +. So, because of all this it's easier to find a magic item with just 2 stats that are straight +% dmg and + dmg, making the dps number pretty high. Rares drop less so it's harder to find a rare with the same dps (as it should be) and then of course legendaries almost never drop, meaning to find one with all the + damage affixes you want will be next to impossible (also a good thing.)
The games been out for two weeks, you've got to give it some time. Once more and more ppl make it to at least act 1 inferno, or at least to level 60 to get the NV, you'll start seeing even better rares on the AH (if they aren't going to use them.)
It's a good system the way it's set up. If they made magic and even rares unable to achieve the same affix ranges as legendaries, then those items would be always worthless. It's a lot more fun to have those items be worthless most of the time, but knowing that with some extreme luck they can be usefull =D
