How can i open a ticket? Log into wow? My buddy wants to play tonight as do i but he doesnt have the money so i was gonna use 1 of my collector editions and give him my free copy.
They will not give you a Standard Edition key if you have the Annual Pass version of Diablo III. Don't even bother asking. They will only refund you a key if you purchased a Standard Edition and upgraded to the Collector's Edition.

It will never happen. When you signed up for the annual pass you didnt buy a copy, you participated in an offer that gave you access to Diablo 3. It may sound like the same thing, but it isnt.

Regardless of how BS you think it is, that's all part of the contract you signed when you opted in to the Annual Pass. You can try, but I doubt you'll get far.

The Collector's Edition is only available from retail, and that means to play as soon as possible you'll want to hit a midnight release to pick it up (or hope FedEx drops off your package super fast). We don't have any plans to release a digital CE, it's a retail-only kind of thing. But! you may have a few options.
If you have the WoW Annual Pass (or go sign up for it now) you get a free digital copy of Diablo III. This will give you the game right at midnight, you can go download right now, all that stuff. Then, when you pick up your CE, you can overwrite the standard edition license with the CE license and you'll be granted 4 months of game time (more or less equivalent to the cost of the standard edition). So that's a good option. More info also available in the Annual Pass FAQ.
Alternatively, you can get the digital version now, play right at midnight, overwrite your license with your CE when you pick it up, and then contact our support department. In most situations they'll be able to grant you a new standard key, which you can then give to a friend, or whatever.

Called them, they took care of me and made me extremly happy. I did have to escalate though at first they said nothing we can do blah blah blah but we got it done and im a happy camper now

Oh yeah? So what did they do for you then? Give you a key, or credit to your B.Net account, or what?
Just FYI Guys, I created a ticket (pre-emptively) and explained that I had head there were problems for WoW annual pass holders - upgrading to CE.
I can't copy the response (at work - don't have my authenticator) but the response was basically:
"Greetings Snow - We do not anticipate any troubles if you are not picking up your copy untill midnight - there have been some hicupps for people who recieved their coppies early, but you should have no problems - here is the CS number in case you do and we will be open 24 hours for D3's launch."

They credited my 6 months back and are only gonna charge me for 2 more months.
