With the arena system anticipated soon after initial launch, blizzard plans on having it be a fun place to test your skills against other players. Sounds great to me, but for those who plan to take it more seriously and keep a track record of their kills, I was wondering if anyone knows if Blizzard plans on keeping statistics on arena matches. Anything like Kills/Deaths, number of matches, and really anything along that line that would be relevant to showing off your arena skill would be nice to have.
I can't give you a link to the source, but they said no. While they used it in WoW and had ratings and such they won't have it in D3 for the public to see, meaning it's there, but it's not shown. It's like on blizzards side only or something just so it'll match you evenly but they said they didn't want to put so much emphases on the PvP aspect of the game, so that's why they don't want to do it that way.
I see. Well that kind of sucks, I would love a way to keep track of some of that stuff, even if I knew it was not going to be the main aspect of the game and not to expect pvp balance (which I think would not matter if you just want to have fun). Me and a few buddies did WoW arenas in BC for fun and that went well, even without pvp gear (lawl pom pyro mage ) Perhaps once pvp does come out and if it makes enough of an impression on the community they might consider adding a few more features like this.
Well I could be wrong but maybe you can see your win/loss or kill/death ratio or something but i know they said they're not doing a visible rating system. Most of the guys from D2 were so heavy into pvp, myself included, I think they'd definitely add on additional features once it gets rolling.
