Should rares & legendary items be Soulbound in Diablo 3, meaning once that item is equipped, then it can no longer be traded, sold at auction, or used by another character.
The advantage of Soulbound items is it would reduce the supply of legendary items. RIght now they never perish and the volume of them will keep increasing as MILLIONS of people are playing the Diablo slot machine. Diablo has gold sinks, which remove gold from the game, because they prevent mass inflation (the devaluation of currency), why not have item sinks to prevent mass devaluation of legendary items?

the value of legendary items will remain high because of the A. extremely low drop chance and B. extremely high population of d3 players. Demand will ALWAYS be larger than supply for these items regardless of how long the game has been out.
You guys are right, let's keep every item found in the game, stay in circulation. While we are at it, let's keep ALL of the gold found in the game stay in circulation. That's right, when you spend money repairing items, crafting items, with the jeweler, etc...that money should magically appear in a somebody else's account and stay in circulation. Or maybe there can be a Recycling House, where you can sell your previously used gold.
In addition to no item sinks, we need to get rid of gold sinks. Gold sinks are so WOW.
As being a 6+ Years long diablo 2 and diablo 2 LoD player I disagree with the soulbound attitude, although I have strange feelings about not having ladder resets every 6 months or so. I know, early on and for like 8/9 months there won't be problems, but you must think that with more and more time this game is out many players will find more and more items, one time, maybe 1 year+ you will have too many and trading will become difficult. So I really hope they introduce the ladder reset later on, because they said they would think about that.
NONETHELESS I completely disagree with soul bound stuff, but you don't have to attack him or anything as he clearly never played any diablo game.
don't forget legendaries have random affixes now so even when you do find "the grandfather" which i doubt any of us will there will still be 100 other versions of it that will be better suited for your class. Soulbound would ruin customization and as jay wilson has clearly stated that the thing they are most proud of

In order to make ur legendary stuff in blacksmithing... ur gonna need to turn legendary items into mats... this will keep the amount of items in check! at least i think so anyways
i play WoW since vanila beta and i was kind of hardcore (got General title from old school pvp) and i must say soulbound items suck dude, they are nowhere near a sink in diablo3 since they are completely random.
It took me +\- 6 years to get a full trang-oul's set in d2, while in wow it takes me a couple weeks to get full dragon soul gear on an alt... do you see the difference here?
they are completely different game mechanics which renders soulbound on diablo 100% useless...

A while back there was that leaked blizzard release date sheet. If it was right theres 2 diablo 3 expacs. one every 2-3 years. and if inferno is as hard as they say it is. besides the crazy guy that lvls 1-60 in 12 hours and beats it the next day im sure the avg d3 player wont beat it for a while and the avg casual at least a year .. then one year later all your lvl 60 gear is trash cuz the lvl cap will be higher.
at least thats my guess. thats why a lvl 60 cap now + 2 expacs 20 lvls each is your lvl 99/100 char.

Touchy much? There is good balance mate, no need to fubar it. When i have legendary items in my stash for my soon to be 60 characters then ill seriously consider your opinion on it.
Edited becuase i had a spelling fail. ;-p

Super Cop! He knows where you live, he knows where you sleep.
Legendaries are removed by disenchanting for crafting. As Jay Wilson recently said in his interview, inferno recipes have ridiculous requirements, and going for perfect crafting stats provides a limitless demand for legendary components.
This goes totally against the spirit of Diablo, SO you get a NO

This is Diablo, not World of WarCraft.
