So I just started playing a pirated Crysis 2 and it runs smooth in the highest of all settings. But, When I played the open D3 beta it stuttered till I turned the settings down a bit. Is this because of the client or the server? I have broadband and a pretty nice pc so I'm not really sure...or it could be the fact that the beta isn't optimized...any thoughts?
probably your graphics card. i was having the same problem on my laptop. the first time i played the beta, i immediately put all graphic settings on high. the game stuttered to the point of being unplayable. All i had to do is change shadow detail back down to medium (everything else was still on high) and it ran perfectly.
if that still doesn't work, try turning off anti aliasing if it is on.

My gfx card is OK...but if I can play crysis 2 at FULL settings...I should be able to play d3 as a fucking hologram lol
They said that they're still optimizing stuff regarding graphics cards. I remember getting video lag every time that I used a skill for the first time. They've commented that it will be fixed on release.

My place really was here. I was too foolish and stubborn to notice. But, what I truly hoped for then was here. Why do I always realize it When I've already lost it.

you never know...they re different games. I can run starcraft2 with everything turned to ultra, but like i said above D3 stutters for me on the highest graphical settings...

I have heard this....this may be the source of mine and buttonnose's lag problems
The beta was not optimized, and was running quite a bit of debugging code (according to blues in tech support) they've said repeatedly that any modern computer will run d3 just fine. 1-2 year old computers should run it on max settings.
If I remember someone, maybe Bashiok saying somewhere that the full version won't be as laggy as the beta was?
Remember it was a beta, if your computer is running Crysis duo with no sweat then I think it's safe to say that it's just the beta acting like it is, a beta

Bashiok - Blizzard Representative - 08/01/2011 -"So how many skill combinations are there now? Well taking into account 6 active skills, all the rune combinations, and 3 passives we currently expect each class to have roughly 2,285,814,795,264 different build combinations."

I'd think that Crysis 2 is a little more demanding than Diablo 3 and Starcraft II...O.o....
