I didn't vote on this poll, because really... I don't know. I wish they would make a movie, because their CG team is effin' AWESOME. All their cinematics rule and I drool and get chills every time I see their new stuff.
But I can't say if I think they would or wouldn't make a movie. I heard years ago that they were going to make a WoW movie, and I haven't heard anything about that since, so I guess I would lean more towards that they won't make a Diablo movie. But it would be bloody awesome if they did.
I don't think Blizzard would ever do a live-action movie about one of their games.
Maybe if it was full-CG, then it would be possible. But, even then, I don't see it happening for any game from Blizzard to become a movie. It's just not their kind of market.
Actually Blizzard stated for their WoW movie, it would def. be live-action with real actors and everything.
what a terrible decision....

One is never hurt by being given additional choices, only by taking them away. A QUADRILLION MAGIC FIND is worthless if you can't kill shit!
TV series would be much better, something like Game of Thrones. There's so much lore and so much epicness that could be fleshed out I don't think a 2 hour movie could do it.

"The righteous shall fall before the wicked, and all of Creation shall tremble before the burning standards of Hell."
The problem with making a video game into a movie: To convert an intellectual property into a movie that actually resonates with fans of the source material, you generally need a producer and director who are actually familiar with and fond of said source. Otherwise you get schlock that pisses off true fans (see:Transformers 4, a blur of indistinct CGI metal).
Imagine taking the Diablo franchise and handing it to some director who had never played Diablo, who was in turn working for a producer who had never played Diablo. They'd do a little research, cast someone interesting as Cain, and miss all the details you'd want them to get right.

I grew up gaming without internet forums. The entire phenomenon of being upset with a game developer makes no sense to me. No sense. I cannot imagine spending my time and energy being upset about something I choose to do for recreation.
Make a movie that chronicles the life of a handful of Diablo players during the first 2 weeks - 2 months of release. Like a reality TV/Documentary. Should be multi-cultural, have a wide range of age groups, and subtitled.
I feel the focus should be less the interaction and playing of "the game" but more of how the rest of life continues around them (family/friends).

Call it "The Days ended."
