Hey, I'm wondering if anyone knows of any quotes regarding how sets and legendary items will work. Are legendary/set items going to look unique on your character in game or just in the inventory? Have they talked at all about how sets are incorporated....I remember they were saying they wanted to make them more of a viable option than they were in D2.
Thanks!

"A wizard is never late Frodo Baggins. Nor is he early.
He arrives precisely when he means to."
"Losers always whine about their best, winners go home and Fvck the prom queen."
The Tiers are just the White (normal), Blue (magical) and Yellow (rare) items. Set items (green) have their unique look and Legendary items (also orange) have their unique look as well.
edit: Also to clarify - normal, magical and rare items are mainly for leveling as they're easy to obtain. Set and Legendary items are far more rare and powerful - those are the ones we seek in the game.
In the past, though not recently, they said they wanted sets to be more of an end-game thing than they were in Diablo II, that's all I remember them saying specifically in regards to that. On the official game guide, however, the only ones currently there are pretty low level stuff. As to the rest of your questions, we won't really know until they release specifics on them, which won't be until post-launch.

Smart move on there part. Low level sets were always stupid.

Just to clarify, set items are orange, just like legendaries. They are only green in text on the Bent website, but when they drop on the ground they will be orange (according to a blue post), as green is reserved for lore and quest items.

That blue post was a while ago though. And I would be pissed if I thought my set was a legendary item at first. Maybe someone with a Twitter can ask Bashiok or Jay Wilson.

I don't always burn. But when I do, I use hellfire.

Yeah, most sets are slotted for end game. There are/was recipes you could find to unlock each piece of the set for your BS so then all you needed was the mats to make all of the pieces. That way you were at least guaranteed a chance to get a full set.
