DIII will make your life easier with that if you screw up your build you can change it. DII really slowed you down if your build ended up not working, and there were a lot more non-working builds in DII.
From the sounds of it, though, Inferno is gear-locked. That's why I don't really see anyone just zipping through it.
i think its gonna take a lot longer than people are speculating. A well paced, calculated approach is going to be the best way to tackle all the higher difficulties. The people who just rush rush rush will hit a wall and all the others will just catch up and probably just overtake with better geared, more thought out strategies.
I AM GAMe even tho i work go to school and tke care of my gma ( so ill do it but i cant do much) but ill race ya and im rolling a monk and im doing the same im playing with 3 other RLF and i requested the first 2 days 15-16th of may off from work wo play non stop diablo 3
So ?, can we check up on people like WoW as in armory method like char names, or battletag name with the number or how is that gonna work. Im sure they will have something to check peoples acheivements and what not, gear.
Ill race with you. Unlike everyone else here I don't drink the kool-aid. 2 weeks after release tops we should both be in Inferno and either cleared it once or damn near the end.
If not trolling PvP threads talking about how you cannot compare your epeen against someone else .... and how blizzard raped you because of that... you are here trying to talk about how you can beat inferno in 2 weeks.
You sir... probably have no life.
Yep a full time job, 4 classes of college, fiance, plus sports...no life. I can stomp this game in 2 weeks because I do work a full time job and thus get this thing called vacation time, which will allow me to do whatever I please with this game, including stomp it in 2 weeks.

You play Street Fighter. There is no way that any of the above is remotely true.
Never understood this 'Race to finish a game' mentality. Missing tons of content, lore and story, when there's no accolades, no reward, and nobody cares if you get to the end first. But whatever, have fun.
I'd welcome a nice metered race where people play their set amount of time. Whoever beats it first in a set amount of time, without using exploits, is the winner. That kind of competition would be far more interesting.
This? What is this shit? Who is better at not sleeping? Really?

yeah that's pretty much the gist of it, or who can exploit the game

"If you don't have a TV, then what is all your furniture pointed at?"
One thing I always notice about people who go 'inferno is going to be sooo EZ' is that they say that beating hell 8player in Diablo 2 was a piece of cake, while considering items like infinity to be 'basic'.
While any guess about how difficult inferno will actually be is as good as any other, I know that there are several people out there who are capable of crazy feats [but NOTHING close to the number of people who claim will be able to faceroll the game on this forum alone] and will beat Inferno within an impressive time frame.
But what will really come as a shock for many people is how under-geared they will be when they reach Inferno.
What's the point of beating the game in 5 days, 2 weeks RL time or whatever? It is only a measure of how little other parts of life u have IMO ...
A REAL achievement/race if u wanna rush would be to post 2 screen shots when u finish inferno - 1 of your toon and hours played and one of the achieve ... who cares on what date u do it? Some dude with no life and time off work/school etc may well do it in 2-3 weeks if they play heaps each day.
Also, to race thru means u don't really stop to smell the virtual roses... not exploring all areas, cellars etc... personally- it is a dimished play experience to do this i think... Hell, I'll go on my main till probably lvl 30 then probably start my first HC toon and all the other classes- then back onto the main (which will be focussed on steady progression).

My 2 cents worth...
That could have easily been posted in the thread you were referring to, merged.
I managed to be the first person to level 50 in a mmo called Vanguard Saga of Heroes on my server when the game launched but I know that pales in comparison to being world first in Diablo 3 =P .
To pull off the first to 50 in Vanguard I played between 13-15 hours a day for around a month, used ventrilo with 5 other players and only ever grouped with them. Static groups are imo the only way to do it.
We passed everyone because as a team we could get everyone doing different things to get everything as a whole done a lot quicker. When you work with things like quest rewards or simply finding a mob that gives paritcually more exp and is easy to farm your always going to win with the inside knowledge of your team.
Never been able to figure out why people would post these kind of assumptions when Blizzard keeps stating that some people on the team took forever to clear normal, in addition to mentioning all the internal bets on how many weeks it will take to get through the first Act on Inferno alone.
I'd rather be that guy who didn't display that kind of ambition publicly. If I don't get through Inferno quickly, thats fine by me. If I do, then the community/developers are gonna have a field day trying to figure out how and why. Bottom line is that I'll be laughing at a lot of people who trip over their own posts
a company wouldnt state that "oh ya our internal testers destroyed the game easily and got through it fast" wither it was or wasnt true. so you cant take anything they say about their game difficulty because they are 100% bias in their obviously money driven hype machine posts. it would kill the hype if they said how easily people got through it. i guarantee i get through normal in roughly 6-8 hours, and it wont take me more then a day to get through nightmare and i will be doing it 100% solo with zero help from anyone or RL money. i will be making a thread on release and uploading my progress of time played with screen shots. my job will obviously cut deeply into my real time progress but i still hope to have it beaten within a few weeks.

I just have to follow your thread. I'm sorry, but I will laugh hard if it doesn't turn out as you planned.
oh of course, if i fall flat it will be a huge epic fail face palm. but im not worried because i know what ive already easily achieved in D2 without help. id say realistic worst case scenario is it takes me a month to beat it. i know a lot of people want me to fail, either because they hate me or because they dont want to believe D3 can be beaten that fast (even if it is by someone whos very skilled). but at the very latest come the first weekend i will be uploading my progress hours, in hell

i am! from personal experience i hate it when people cant just accept they were wrong, so instead they just continue arguing...

This.
Glad/Wished has been around for a while making claims like this. You get used it to, laugh, and move on.
