the barb beating was awesome, love seeing all those zombie flying. the monk at first for me was eh but at testing it was awesome. the WD is cool but i cannot imagine 4 WDs in one game. i would be so confused with the massive spiders and zombie dogs...
It's hard to imagine all 4 classes on one screen, to be honest... I mean, sometimes I was very confused and couldn't see shit through all the spamfest that was going on...
I think that some effect should be toned down a bit.
Witch Doctor is the top dmg on beta...been able to hit like 200 with Dire Bat rune....making him the top char in beta...barb and monk are the same stuff...i honestly prefer monk cuz of defensive skills are way better than the barb's....demon hunter is nice and wizard is nice only lvl 12+
It is interesting, because my interest in the classes would change from beta patch to beta patch. When I played like 4-5 patches ago, the Wizard was so amazing it shot to the top of my rankings, and I had that towards the bottom going in. Now it has settled back to 3rd or 4th place. Things got very different when runes were added, and when what runes and skills were available at what levels changed as well...your entire perception of a class can become reoriented. So I expect that the full game will cause us to completely change our perceptions yet again.
But my rankings as it stands now are:
4. WD (might swap places with Wiz, tough to say)
5. Barb (ugh, Barb)
So... yeah, getting my hands on the game made me change my mind hard on the Monk. His playstyle is awesome! Wizard is also very very nice, but I guess I'll need to play over lvl 13 to enjoy the really strong stuff and get more powerful.
Still not 100% sure what I'll start, though. Barb/Wizard/Monk are swapping places every time I log in to play.
Before open beta (no beta access)
Actually I have no time to try all...so i'm just playing 2-3 classes to see the look of the skills
Visual to me is everything (mostly)
So far WD has this cute plague of toad skill and firebats looks really good.
Monk is quite boring till I get crippling wave (looks really nice with the incantations or rune words)
I'm aiming for lvl 13 later when i play to try using wave of light and exploding palm.
Probably no time for other class...maybe squeeze in barb or wiz at the last minute
I think the biggest reason I like barb so much is he's sooo weapon dependant. Sure they've made all classes weapon dependent with dmg scaling, but the barb's weapons change the feel of his moves... for instance... cleave is a cool move with a 1h shortsword... but with a huge polearm? SO awesome... the range of cleave is WAY bigger and hits way harder. Pick up that rune that makes kills w/ cleave explode for more dmg and it becomes nothing short of amazing to use.
And that is the fun of the game for me... finding new awesome weapons and building my char around it. You can only do that so much with the other chars.
Ultimately I'm sure I'll start with a Barb - I've said it before and I'll say it again. It's probably one of the easiest classes to be good at but one of the hardest to be great at (especially in PvP). Whether that pans out to be true in D3 remains to be seen... If I had to pick an order:
I really tried to give the monk a chance... ever since getting my beta key (from diablofans.com woot woot) I've betamaxed and overacheived each patch. Each time I do the monk last really hoping that something has changed enough for me to feel like the class isn't just the most boring thing in Sanctuary... each time I am dissapointed. At lower gearing he feels weak. After overgearing he seems to be always starving for spirit and I just get locked into spirit generation skills since a single punch tends to kill whatever I'm lookin at... thus not allowing the full combo and ultimately now allowing all the spirit to build. To date, the most interesting part of the Monk (for me) was the story on the reveal site...
BTW - anyone else enjoying those?!

The monk improved the most for me. I will still play a wizard first though. Barb fell the furthest, but mostly due to the monk being so good and me wanting to alternate styles as I try out characters. I thought I would hate the DH and I do indeed hate the DH. Witch was better then i thought, because minions are not nearly as needed as I was anticipating. Wizard may have went down a little, but I refuse to play another class first.
