In D3 you are supposed to reach 60 by the end of hell reguardless of party size. leveling is not the grind it was in D2 that's item hunting and gem collection.

If that made sense to you, Bravo! I think I even confused myself...
Leveling is very easy in D3. Almost to easy. There is also still power leveling and rushing from what I experienced in the beta so clearing content and leveling will be a breeze.
More than weeks, maybe a few months w/o exploits and such.

You think it is going to take months to hit 60? 1 Week tops there will be 60's. 2-3 weeks tops and inferno will be beaten. Month tops and it will be farmed.
It will definately not take months. For someone who has taken 3 days off we plan on being on Hell by the time its over so we plan on being 50 withing 3 days. So maybe a week or 2.

It all depends on how much time you got to invest. I have that tuesday-sunday off and so do my 3 teammates. So we will definitely be 60 and in inferno by sunday.

For some people months for sure but for the first people there within a week. We have tues/wed/thurs off but than have to work friday and then we have sat/sun. So hopefully we'll be right behind you guys we plan on playing 42 out of the first 48 hours. Maybe once we get back to the reg schedule we can group up if were on at the same time.

Dude, again, you're speaking out of your ass. The internal bet at Blizzard HQ is in the area of months before Inferno is farmed. Like, 3 - 4 months. The first bet was 3 - 4 months before inferno is beaten but this was amended because Blizzard anticipates that someone will find some exploit or cheesy use of game mechanics to allow them to kill the final boss on Inferno, but they still maintain that it will be months before anyone is able to farm Act 4 Inferno with any consistency at all.
Trying a simple calc:
It takes about 1 hour to complete the beta when playing "normal" aka no rushes etc.
The beta is 1/3 of act1 and there are 4 acts. Assuming they are about the same length it will take 12 hours to beat normal.
This is where the "extrapolation" part of your post ends, and the "wild guesswork with no basis in fact" part of it begins. The simple fact is that we don't know what the difference between normal and nightmare is. There is such a thing as a "gear check". You may have to do some farming (maybe even as little as 5 hours worth) before progressing through nightmare at anything other than a snail's pace.
It will take you as long to hit 60 in D3 as it did to approximately hit 85 or beat hell in d2 legit (no rushing). So, with casual gaming, I would say about a month.
Also, there is "some" rushing" but exp is split by char lvl, not evenly. So, you can definitely lvl faster if a lvl 60 takes you the furthest he can and kill everything but it won't be near the speed in D2 where you could hit above 70 in an hour with rushing.

I laugh at this topics xD I think it is funny how much people want to rush...well, just rush! I think it will take a while to pass the game but rush! If you hit 60 in 2, 3, 4, 5 days and you finish Inferno in a week or in 2 weeks... good for you...I guess you had that stupid objective :/ Let me just point something out...those that think that are so harcore and that will pass the game in 1 week, are just retarded. You think you're gaming, but you're not! You're ruining a game, you're using it just the wrong way :/ A real Diablo fan, a real Hardcore Diablo Fan will take his time because he has waited a long time and he will know the story, experience everything, his hair will get spiked and he will shiver in every epic situation, he will explore everything, break everything, he will listen to all dialogues, compare items really well, learn the tricks, understand every and every detail about the damn game...and he will enjoy and have a really good taste of the game. Those people wil take time to pass the game because they are the real fans, they will not ruin years of waiting and their money just like fake hardcore fans :/ I'm a real fan and I don't know how much time it will take me to pass the game but if a fake fan that just rushes finishes the game in 1 week, I would say that real fans will start finishing it after 3 weeks and probably after 1 month. But we don't know much about the game so I guess it will take a lot more than some people think.
Adon...you're just a fake hardcore fan that thinks he's the best and that will own the game...you will ruin your money and your time, this game isn's really for you, trust me!
I agree with the exploring and learning the story part but i am gonna disagree with you on one point. I'm rushing through Normal and NM because i believe the real challenge will be in hell. I played D2 forever and i am a "hardcore" Diablo fan that has been waiting forever. I just feel the game will only really start at hell, so thats why i plan on trying to get to hell asap. If i could start at hell i would but I cant.

I'll be doing it the exact opposite. Why blindly play the game the first two playthroughs?
I'll be taking normal mode as slowly as possible, reading every interaction and truly enjoying my experience.
Then when I get to nightmare, hell, and inferno, I will begin to skip through the details and concentrate on getting to 60 and eventually gearing up.
