That's because - once again - they've stated you will be level 60 by the time you FINISH Hell mode.
Not just once, not twice, but literally dozens of times.
Also, Diablo III != Diablo II. That should be pretty obvious by now.
I'm quite aware that Diablo III isn't Diablo II, but I think I wasn't clear enough what I tried to say. What i meant was, that I hope that the leveling part orientates at least a bit at what D2 did and it isn't over after 48 hours.
It just seems to me, that a lot of the posters here think, that leveling in D3 will be like let's say leveling from 80 to 85 in cataclysm, which I hope is really not the case.
Well...You have to look at how long it'll take to go from Act I Normal to Act IV Hell. That's how long it'll take to get to 60. That's what I meant....I'd say about 48-72 hours of /played.
If the first couple acts of Inferno are relatively easy compared to the later acts, it won't bother me too much. The reason is because lvl 65 monsters will be extremely difficult for the average player base until proven strategies, builds and item statistics are spread and become common knowledge.
I guarantee the level 63+ monsters will drop items unparalleled to the lower level monsters. If you look at the length of act 1 (seeing as how Beta is 1/3 of the whole act) and then speculate how long the later acts will be, you'll see it gives you a lot of space to play in many different areas while still being exposed to content that others can't yet access.
Look at any popular online game. It takes quite some time from the beginning of newly released content to become farm status for the masses. I understand why Blizzard might have made the beginning of Inferno relatively easy. They don't want people with less time or skills to feel left out, granted it will still take a good deal of time to get past Hell mode.
I'm surprised they didn't do this from the start. When they first started talking about enemies being higher level than max player level for inferno, it was worded in a way that looked like levels would always increase as you progressed.
But then, if there are people within the company thinking inferno was already borderline too hard, taking months to complete, what made them bump it up even more? And what kind of balance issues are they going to have, having to adjust gameplay from lv 61 enemies, to 65.
As far as loot goes, it looks like they're trying to say all enemies in inferno have access to the same super duper tier prefixes/whatever/shinies, just the higher level ones will be more likely to drop it.
Yes! I saw this and was gonna make a thread on it. Glad to see there's already one.
I am now way more excited for this game than I was 10 minutes ago. I thought they had made the first two Acts slightly easier and made the rest harder. This is such good news to know otherwise.
65 is the max cap level for act 4 Inferno? Ill def have it done in 2 weeks then.
Dude stop trolling.
Not trolling, if you think I can't hit 60 in 2 weeks and clear inferno with 2-3 other Diablo vets you are clearly trolling. 60 in this game is like 80 in Diablo 2, and add the fact with a little bit of grinding you can be 60 at end of Hell so...pretty much guaranteed to be 60 by inferno within a week and give me a week to work out the kinks there and finish it.

A bit concerned about the quote below but maybe I'm misreading it?
Item pools are not limited by Act, or Boss, or anything like that. While you'll have a better chance to get better items in Act IV Inferno, you could get those same items in Act I, or even Hell.
Does this mean that the best affixes/uniques can drop in late hell? I was hoping/assuming the later Acts of Inferno would be the only place that you could get certain affixes/items. What's the point in doing hard content otherwise? Sure the rates may be slightly better, but you aren't rewarded with better gear for being able to kill the hardest parts of the game.
It will be interesting to see what happens... but it's looking like people will farm Hell Act 4 or Inferno Act 1 if you can get the same items.

It is likely possible yes. But your chances will be something like 0.00001%. Even in Act 4 on Inferno, your chances would be like 0.001% still.
So you obviously have a FAR better chance of the best items dropping in Inferno. But it also may be likely that you never, ever actually see them drop.

Play level 1 to 80 with no mf farming, no help from friends, no mules, no 3rd party sites, get every WP, no Baal runs, no chaos runs. Just play from 1 - 80 with none of that cheap shit. Takes longer the normal few hours it takes now a days.
all i'm saing is that your excitment over monster level based just on the number 65 means nothing considering we don't even know how its gonna work out, they are going to be harded then lvl 61 thats for sure
It's also about monster attributes but think for a second... 5 levels above you. If you played WoW, imagine trying to dual a level 65 pimped out char vs. a 60, it’s HARD. Now that one 65 your trying to dual became a pack of 12.
EDIT: On topic, love the news but I never doubted it in the first place.

I am liking that Blizzard haven't nerfed Inferno but already made it tougher before release, it makes me smile. What makes me smile even more though is that they're actually expecting people to take months plural before beating Inferno! This means that they really do think it's hard, and even better, they're quite happy to let people swear at Inferno for months - reading between the lines it tells me that they won't be nerfing it weeks after release because loads of people on the official forums complain that it's too hard.
Bring on the pain!
Indeed, there will likely be no nerfs. But they might actually buff a few things if they feel it's not hard enough.
Also, not to be confused with nerfs - if they find a creature in Inferno is close to unkillable - they'll edit it up a bit. There's no point in having such a monster in the game if all it does is present a brick wall that cannot be played out strategically.
What Bashiok didn't clarify in his first post was that all kind of items can drop in all acts just with different drop rate. Now this change is good as far as item drops as only that much higher in later acts as difficulty is. Eventually we will still farm only act 4 but it looks that it will now happen when we are almost fully geared which will make us to w8 for a new content anyway so it is not a problem anymore. Good thing he finally come around to clarify this little nuance.
Our goal is to make the loot mathematically better in the later acts without making the earlier gear completely obsolete. We feel Diablo II actually did a very good job with this and we expect Diablo III to perform similarly.
which kinda says that some gear will not be available in earlier acts.
Anyway I hope new post is a true true (?)
Item pools are not limited by Act, or Boss, or anything like that. While you'll have a better chance to get better items in Act IV Inferno, you could get those same items in Act I, or even Hell.
Our item pool philosophy is that you can break an urn and get the best item in the game - it's all a matter of chance. Running more difficult areas and taking on more difficult enemies will not always be the most efficient way to find upgrades
My personal opinion is they should have added uber/heroic/spawn dungeons and challenges like those in earlier versions of median xl throughout the zones which are pretty much untouchable while you're playing through the game but once you meet the gear requirement are where you spend much of your time, as well as a not-so-secret cow level etc.
Gotta hand it to laz and crew, though I don't care much for the current version trying to copy the idea of inferno mode, so i switched back to 1.z9.
However that's not what we're looking at right now so whatever.

I will never complain :D.
I welcome any Ninja Gaiden for the NES replicas!
Stil, hmmm... seems legit... I'll buy it

Inferno is gonna be so rough. Yesssss.
