honestly..he never really did to begin with, he is a coward, he runs away summons skeletons and poison nova's, he was weak at heart thereby making him weak against the players.

He may be weak at heart... but siding with the dark side he was promised a lot, strength and power obviously being one of them. So, aside from the skeletons he could summon, his poison Novas should at least be able to inflict some damage to players. Blizzard should increase his base damage as well and make facing him a bit more challenging.
Honestly, I think it's just more of a story progression kind of thing. I never saw him as much of a boss, maybe like a unique monster at best. You are right though he is very easy.
He was a pain to get down because he kept running and summoning skeletons. Sure damage was low, but when you have a damn coward running away, making the fight twice as hard, then you start getting frustrated.
Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
I don't always burn. But when I do, I use hellfire.
This has always kind of annoyed me, it's played up as a relatively big deal at the time yet he's the least scary boss fight of them all. I thought they just buffed his poison damage in Patch 15? I think he needs more buffing. :\ IMO all of the bosses could be a bit scarier.
Wait till later difficulties and see what he is like then if he is still weak in inferno feel free to put forward some suggestions to Blizzard to increase his powers.
Possible Leoric Spoiler
Also, didn't I read somewhere that Leoric is possibly out of place story wise for the beta, as in once release comes we won't fight him until the actual end of the act, not where he currently is placed in the beta. And that he is only where he is now to give the beta a "final" type boss fight.

As regards to your spoiler tag, (although I don't think it's much of a spoiler) I think he's where he is intended to be. It's been datamined who the actual boss of Act 1 is, and it's not him.

Why do you have to wait and see how he's like in Inferno, when you are doing the Beta, or why do you even have to wait until the game being release before we put forward some suggestions to Blizzard on that matter.
The matter of fact being is that for the Beta patch 15, Blizzard buffed all monsters damage, so why was Jondar left out???
If they left him running around like the coward that he is, they should have at least made him stronger.
He doesn't need to be a strong force to be reckoned with like mini-bosses but at least, they should have made his abilities note worthy, making the experience of fighting him awesome somehow.

Wherever they put Leoric doesn't change the fact that Jondar is weak... and would stay weak as he is unless Blizzard tweaks and increase the damage of his Poison Nova proportional to the increase in damage and whatever other aspects they tweaked and added to normal monsters in the Beta Patch 15.

My point of waiting for later difficulties is that by design Normal is easy for all bosses and enemies, I know that you mean in comparison to other mobs he is easy, but I think that given he isn't a main act boss, or a massive story/Lore factor why does he need to be as strong as, for example, Leoric who is clearly way more important to the story?
The game can't be "Hard" boss after Hard boss there needs to be a degree of progression as you play the story, he isn't as easy as a standard zombie and he isn't as hard as an act boss, so he sounds about where he needs to be. Lets be honest a single elite monster is of no threat to your character, its only when you get surrounded by a bunch of them. Hell even Leoric only really hits "hard" when he does a special attack like whirlwind. I bet you that Jondar's poison attack hurts more then magic resists actually mean something.

Leoric is in the right location for the game and definitely not the Act 1 boss. If you go back to the days of D1, he wasn't killed in his manor, so it would be weird if he was found there.
If Leoric is the Act 1 end Boss, that'd be severely disappointing. He's not, I'm sure. After you kill Leoric, Cain probably sends you to his manor to see what caused him to turn (as mentioned in Leoric's journals prior to fighting him). No doubt we'll see Lazarus somewhere in the manor or thereabouts. Also I feel like we'll run into Lachdannan too, not sure his condition, though.
I thought this patch said that Jondar's poison nova would do more damage. I haven't noticed the increase. Then again, it's so pitifully easy to avoid as it comes off it at totally predictable angles.
My problem with both Jondar and that spirit that guards the crown is that they run around like complete retards. They don't seem to actually try to engage in combat at all. Jondar runs up and down the stairs. The spirit teleports around everywhere and just casts a slowing spell. Either bad coding or purposefully annoying. Who knows.
Jondar didn't even do any damage... got flayed to the ground and killed in just a few moments.
He didn't even give any kind of resistance. lol!

My PvP build would be different from these 13.
