dunno if its been said, but values on front page (mana cost) its based on level 60
I pretty much expected this, exactly as MMO-C. I think the thing that's been confusing people is that the mana costs stop going up in patch 14 and now they seem to be going up per level again in 15.
Tenhi was right about what I said. My point was that you can't please two parties with widely different desires/expectations. When Jay Wilson said something like "I want my grandmother to be able to pick up this game and play with no problems", to me this instantly meant that the levelling part of the game would probably be boring/shallow to people like me (and many here on DFans). How do you reconcile the wants of 1st time gamers and of hardcore gamers? I'm not satisfied by answers like "Well, you'll mostly be playing Inferno". I like levelling characters. Doesn't mean I'm gonna have 50 chars, but I don't want to level one of each class and then grind Inferno forever.
Who said you have too ?
1. If you like to start over, thats an end by itself. Simply start over using a different set of skills. I kno this is not an "efficient" way to play in terms of time investment vs. item drops outcome but who cares seriously. It's not like you will be playing D3 to be the richest guy around (if you do you most certainly don't give a heck about leveling new characters).
2. You can allways play hardcore. Getting killed means you have to restart all over again.
Also, I assume you did not played the beta or watched alot of beta videos right ? The game is not as easy as you think. It's harder then D2, much harder. Basically because D2 difficulty consist on your ignorance of not knowing what to do... If you don't know the tricks you might find the game a bit hard in normal but as soon as you have minimal knowldge of the game mechanics D2 is an breeze (except Hell). This is not true in D3 because the action part of the game is pretty strong. Knowning that Leoric's spinning attacks hits hard is just half of the way, you gotta know how to dogde it too.
Also, the videos released of the past beta area shows people dying all the freaking time. I never saw anyone dying in Carvers, Carver Shamans and Dark Lancers in D2. I just saw 3 people getting killed by Wood Wraths in D3 normal.
Is it just me or did the fight with the Skeleton King take much much longer in this patch? I also noticed that rings dropped much less frequently (actually, I didn't get any ring drops on my way to the Skeleton King when I re-rolled)
I think the game will do fine, you have to wait longer down the road to feel the true emotions of long standing players to the series, but by that time Blizzard will already be committing themselves to those people, updates and patches can easily change anything, which is why I suggest to a lot of players to stop worrying.

Just finished my first playthrough in 15.. SK was buffed, had to go back and review old footage to see it. He went from 1608 HP to 2412 HP (804 increase, or 50%).
