i love diablo 3 and have been watching it very close but why isnt there a huge group leader like the paladin? i think he would have been great for pvp and boosting the party for bosses. the paladin ways always useful in d2 and always made things a little easyer for the group.
i would love to hear what anyone one has to say about this good or not. just my thought.

I thank the Diablo gods every day that there isn't a Paladin in Diablo 3.
Monk gets the job done. If you want him to be heavily clad in armor and wielding a big sword then look no further than the Barbarian. See? You can't lose
No u cant have protection bubble and invulnerability and auras and op'ness. :] no but really it would be repetitive to include a paladin in every game they have. Just play a monk.
There is no Paladin because they don't want to bring back every character for a brand new game if they can help it. They chose to bring back two iconic characters and they did. Keep in mind that there are two expansions to come with Diablo III in the next four years. I have already said in another post I feel that if they do bring back another iconic character, it will likely be the Paladin. We are currently missing a shield bearing champion so he would be the likely fit. That is of course only if they do want to bring back another character.
yeah i see what you all mean i must just have my head wraped around the knight from d1 and pladin from d2 cause they were all i used. and if the bring him back into the game latter i would be so happy. and any one that has played the beta can the monk bost things better than the old paladin?
true because there isnt really anyone that needs a shield. like they can use them but most of them would have better stuff to equip. i say they bringthe warrior back from d1 and give him a twist
Because the monk makes no sense in D3 to many Diablo fans. Diablo is about the gear grind so why in the world did Bliz choose a class that traditionally wears a diaper-looking outfit and uses no weapons? And where in the hell did this monk come from? Tokyo? Paladin would have been a much better choice than the monk. Same is true for necromancer vs. witch doctor. This will never change so the topics will never end. Accept it.
so true Muktuk so true. but bliz will mke the mok really cool some how i always have faith in them to do whats best just like what they did with the rune system

Your thoughts dont qualify as 'many diablo fans'. Your argument about why monks dont fit with gear grinding has no backing besides the irelevant connection with outfit and weapon and also shows how ignorant you are about the game.
Both monk and witch docters are good additions to the game. The world doesnt revolve around western culture and many in the western world came to realize that. Blizzard being up with the times simply expanded the lore accordingly. Accept it.

I hope. So far their way of making the monk "really cool" is to make it OP. It seems like the popularity of the monk has tracked almost perfectly with how OP the monk is in beta. Makes me so sad.
The developers want brand new classes (Reason: they all went mad). They don't even want to bring back the barbarian. The templar could have been a great shield bearing class alternative to the paladin.

Monk does this now.

I think they are breaking the meta-game... embrace the original.
