VR will never gain any attention, it just doesn't add anything besides a big fat price tag.
As a Vive owner I 100% disagree. Even something like Fallout 4 is an entirely different experience in VR than it is regularly and that was just a port over from the original game. A diablo game designed around VR from the beginning would be absolutely amazingly nuts if done correctly.

yes, it is a nice gimmick. it also discourages longer play sessions (you mostly have about 40-50 minutes) for most of the people. plus you need a lot of hardware, maybe even space.
VR can be a nice feature, but we will never see Diablo VR as the next full game title solely focussing on a virtual experience most users cannot even run. blizzard was always on about the playability of their titles even on older machines and they really excel at that. they wouldn't waste resources on a niche feature if you take the steam stats for owned VR sets (<1%).
and after hellgate: london i doubt that there will be another semi/3d hack n slay, even from blizzard.
VR is the future, just as advanced AI. It is only a matter of time now and when this happens the current cash cow will become a forgotten dinosaur. And when you are FIRST in the field, you print money like there is no tomorrow. "There are three ways to make a living in this business: be first, be smarter, or cheat."

Vr is not the future, it's just a nice feature... when 3D movies came out everyone said it'll be the future, "all games and movies will be 3D" and ofc it didn't happen, same with VR.

As much as I love my 3D movies and games, anything that has the potential chance to make people sick, can never and will never be the future.
"The forges here at Blizzard are burning hot, and we have multiple Diablo projects in the works. Some of them are going to take longer than others, but we may have some things to show you later this year."
Rofl, how can some people interpret the bolded text above as not related to D4? What are you hyping with such a video? D2HD and new D3 hero? Why release a video at ALL then? I am starting to think in the direction something came up suddenly and the D4 reveal at Blizzcon 2018 was canceled, but why not announce this BEFORE the Blizzcon map release where Diablo is next to the big stage? Really nothing makes sense atm. And when nothing makes sense in general - there has to be a LIE somewhere. Maybe the last blog post is created to mislead us? But this then would be an awful marketing. What a puzzle this guys made. I am completely lost. It's good the answer will come soonNOTM.

They needed to sell them blizzcon tickets. They know FULL WELL what they were doing. You can't say shit like "The forges here at Blizzard are burning hot, and we have multiple Diablo projects in the works. Some of them are going to take longer than others, but we may have some things to show you later this year." With a smile, and then be confused when people are like 'oh freaking FINALLY a reveal!'.
Their line in the newest post "We know what many of you are hoping for and we can only say that “good things come to those who wait...” could very well be talking about D4. What made my eye twitch though is that it's paiiiiinfully obvious they COULD do a D4 reveal, but they're choosing to play with D3 on the switch instead.
Edit; And if Blizzard rolls out a mobile game, then they've completely lost touch. Might as well make a BR mode while they're at it.
Nah, tickets have nothing to do here. Even with all the info now I am still sure the bolded text relates to D4. This then has to be either:
1) Change in the plan due to some event not allowing to showcase the gameplay they intended to
2) Misleading last blog post to slow down the hype train and skyrocket it in space with a D4 announce
While we can not gain any new info if the case is 2) (they are going to be completely silent until Blizzcon in this case), maybe we can find out more about case 1). Why MM steps down from his position a month before Blizzcon? Could this be due to the event/reason denying the showcase of the intended gameplay? And what is that event exactly? It has to had happened in September. This then looks like:
Hype video in August -> X event in September -> MM stepping down in early October -> Change in showcase plan in middle October -> Last blog post
What is the X event then? What can be so huge to spin the direction you have taken in 180 degrees? It has to relate to the design/monetization of D4 in some way and to be pushed by MM? Does such X event exists? Or case 1) is not possible at all?
I sincerely believe the bolded text isn't for D4 but this is: "Some of them are going to take longer than others". They wouldn't used such sentence if D4 was to come 2019. Perhaps they made video hoping people would read between the lines D4 is coming at some point, but "enjoy Diablo things we have for this year. " You know, they tried to find a way to dodge the 2016 Necro reveal catastrophe with their 2018 news (druid, remasters). Of course, it didn't go very well.
If the text is not for D4, for what is it then? You don't hype D3 exp/dlc or D2 HD like that, that is for sure. What's left is another game in the Diablo universe, be it mobile, console or whatever... But why release a video for it? If a new game in the Diablo universe is going to be announced 3 months later that is a lame way to hype it, because the majority of people you are hyping it at are aRPG fans. They are not *put some other genre here* fans. That's like a commercial about a new restaurant in Asia during an expensive sports event in Europe - it is lame marketing. No one does this. You expect to see sports related commercials during such event and more so such that you spend money on - you won't take a flight to China to test the restaurant after the sports event... My point is:
1) Their marketing team is on some crazy stuff if this is not related to D4
Man if that 4chan leak guy was right and all we are getting is Witcher-like game there is going to be a RIOT.
Unless you really love the Witcher games in which you'd probably be ecstatic.
Personally I've never played them so I'd have no idea what to expect. For the record I will be disappointed if they don't make a D4 game in the same style as D2/3 but if they want to make both types of games I'm fine with it.
Horadric Retreat (Hall D – Diablo III Demo Area): Drop by our open play area with your own Nintendo Switch to meet new friends, play with our developers, and be a part of the great Diablo community!
The only possible area left for D2 HD/D4/D-fps demo is the empty space next to the main stage.

Luckily only week or so to wait... My hype train is off the trails and burning inside. Well, at least we are ready for the worst.
Yep, many things Diablo related which got covered in the past will get to light with this Blizzcon depending on what they announce. No matter where the train finishes we are getting additional info, which is kind of a hype by itself.
At least I hope Mr. Morhaime does the opening ceremony for a last time before Jay is going to take over. Thats all I want, I will not leave the hype train yet, but my expectations are lower, so in a few days, we will see.

Have a nice weekend all.
Wow, that would be amazing. Would never have thought of this. Being pretty much a life long Blizzard fan (Warcraft 1/2/3, Starcraft 1/2, and of course Diablo everything), this would be kinda emotional. Not teary eyed or anything, but more heart warming.
Metzen and Morhaime defiantly are legends when it comes to video games.

Good points. We will find out in two weeks. Probably we will see some hints before it, too.

Lmao, you should see the new Virtual Ticket Video for Diablo. People are sad as fuck, I don't know why? Aren't the in-game items always lame?
Blizzcon Virtual Ticket - Diablo
You're a wizard Harry.....
I took that flashing D3 logo and converted it into a negative image.... but no, still the normal logo
Still remember D3 Chronicles "leak"? But yeah that most likely (97%) was fake.
