They know there is a slight delay as well and hence all the wrapping around the Q2 release window 'we made changes based on community feed-back so that Diablo 3 can live up to our high standards - etc'.
I have stopped caring really (I will play the game for sure) - but the game has clearly been delayed twice. First the late 2011 releae became early 2012 and then early 2012 became Q2 2012.
i never said they didnt, they even said just this week they made the choice to say Q2, but Q2 april IS EARLY I thought april for months now, as early, so dont give me that =P april is early
now may, im iffy on, june even I would say is ruff to call early, but April? nah
Don't worry guys i somehow have a really good feeling about this. My intuition tells me that they will post a release date this month. <3
Same thought process here. While not the best news, this news is still good with no bad. They are giving us an actual window, and Q2 starts in a month in a half. With the 'assumed' 2 months period between announcement and release, it's still an option to announce the date tomorrow, and we'd only have to wait 1 more day than if they announced today. Do I want the game yesterday? Sure. But this isn't that big of a deal =D

we are arguing semantics here. Early is as whoever said it perceives it to be, and to me, logically to the end of April I would call early. It's not divided into quarters if you actually want to divide it. If anything it would be thirds, early, middle, late. Early = jan until mid of may, middle is mid of may till mid september, and late is sept - end of december.

The problem with semantics is that they're semantics. I'd say with the passing of every week and for sure every month we pass an exponential number of peoples' definitions of "early". According to you, if April passes with no release, then even you'd have to say they lied or misconstrued or were less than honest about the actual release. Even now they're using the words "targeting Quarter 2" instead of "will release in Q2". Which worries me despite the fact that I'm not a conspiracy theorist at heart.
I'd venture that most people on Earth who use "early" in reference to year, as in "I'll get to that early next yearly" mostly likely (95%) mean January-February. With the real point being that while everyone's definition of "early" can theoretically be a reasonably wide array of dates, no one would really say "early" and mean anything after April-May. Anyone in their right mind would simply say "mid-next year", whereas Blizzard seems to be perfectly fine with anything before July, and perhaps after if it suits their needs.
In summation, a more forthcoming and exact style of communication would have been better from the start. I think fans would overwhelmingly like to know more and have a better idea of an actual release date, rather than a fictitious release "window (Which has already been delayed twice), than be given tantalizing promises that aren't lived up to in the end.
Well guys I hate to be a broken record but I'll repeat myself for a fourth time and maybe now it will sink in. D3 won't be released till after mop. I'm guessing they made this business decision after missing the 2011 deadline. There is no way in hell (pardon the pun) they'll release Diablo within a month or so of MOP release, the potential revenue loss to mop is too great.
A month or so after MOP you'll see a D3 release, afterall they want you buying the wow expansion and if you're busy playing D3 your less inclined to bother with it, but they know you'll buy d3 no matter what.

I'll just touch on the point of them saying targeting instead of releasing. This is because they aren't 100%. I mean hell it's common logic; if they are 100% on a date, they'd tell us. They might be 95% on some internal date that they've picked, but it's to cover their asses. I'm defending them because as it stands right now, we are still in early 2012. We will continue to be in 'early 2012' until about the middle of may, where it becomes middle of 2012. Yes, if they go past that and are still saying early, then I'll have to call BS.
As far as fans worldwide wanting to know more, I can sympathize, but they are literally telling us everything they can. Like I've already said; IF they had a solid date, they would tell us asap, who wouldn't. Because they don't, they won't. It makes no sense to tell us a supposed date, even if they tag it with *This can change*, people will still rage harder if it's not hit.

What are you talking about sir? MoP won't be until late this year, possibly right at the end. Diablo so far is on track for Q2, WHICH btw, starts in a month in a half. They could easilllllllly tell us a release date next week, and be inside Q2.
Q2 is still early 2012 if done in the first two months..so nothing has changed
not true. if it is May the is the 2nd 'third' of the year which is not early it is middle. that is a mathematical fact.
not 100% true, it all matters on how you split the year about, to me, april is the end of early, but some say may, and I can accept that. June.. I wont take
Yep "early" should be the first 4 months. Because of that Q2 isnt something really new... April is early AND Q2. If you think about it the people that are bitching right now all thought that early = Q1.
Yeah I remember most people correcting people that Blizz didn't say "Q1", but "early". And that Blizz's early can be up to June if they want to. "Early" in a 12 month year is the first 4 months, middle the next 4 and late the next 4. That's just obvious, unless you want to add early-mid-middle or some shit like that.
So if Blizz do announce a release date in the coming weeks (like they said, or [touch wood] another delay)(lets say Feb 29th/March 1ste the latest) their 2 month before release date thing will still be on track for "early" Q2, which in essence is still "early" in the year. But they can also release less than 2 months after release date announcement...like WoW.
So what I'm saying is, that I'm not really angry/frustrated with Blizz even if they release the game in May. I knew from the beginning that Blizz's "early" will be up to June.
I think you'll find that many of you have misread Blizzard's statement - it's "Q2", as in the second quarter of the year, not "Qx2", as in "QQ", as in "QQ moar".
If you're defining early as the first quarter of the year, then it sounds like you're dividing the year into "early", "early-mid", "late-mid", and "late". But then again, if Blizzard had meant that, they would have said "in Q1". They didn't want to say that, though, because as they have said time and time again, they didn't know exactly when it would be ready. Given that we all knew that, early could be interpreted to mean the first third of the year, as in "early, middle or late". Of course, even that would lock them into a definite window, since if they released on May 1st that'd be mid year. In this case, I think you'll find that what early means is "As soon as possible and we're not expecting it to take half the year." If they'd been able to make a concrete estimate that would have locked them into a final due date, then they'd have been able to set a release date for that date. They couldn't, but they wanted us to know it would be soon. What they forgot to take into account, of course, was that a lot of their fans failed to mature past the mental age of four.
1. anounce a console version
2. remove, remove and remove stuff from the game
so what does that tell you? They are holding back the PC version till the console is ready to go, so they can release both games at the same time. I don't think it has anything to do with Pandaria.
How is this coming back?
No sir, the console team is HELPING the pc team, they will not even start the console version until the PC version is out, and even then, it has a good chance of not even being Diablo 3.

"Just herd a few moments ago during the conference that the release schedule will be announced in the coming weeks..
Not much.. But at least there announcing it."

Their version of "release" also means a new wallpaper...
keep your dreams alive.... Diablo III most anticipated game...2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015

Thats fiscal year. They mean Q2 of the calendar year, which is April - June.
How is this coming back?
