After replying to a few people in another thread talking about health globes and potions, I'm just curious to hear how many beta testers have had their characters die in beta.
You can mention how many times you have died, what you think your general skill level is and even what classes you think are most susceptible to dying.

Some people tell me I'm going to hell. I just let them know that I've already packed my bags!
Once when I was level... 7 or so, wasnt really watching, killed 5 arcane guys at once (this is in patch 9) so 5 beams all spawned and pointed at me at once, i was a 1 shot. (4 player game, by myself)
Second on one of my no gear runs,I let mobs trap me like a tard and had no potions. =/
so... both times..when I was not even trying and multitasking basically.
I've yet to die once in the beta. I've leveled 6 characters to 13 so far, and the only time I got remotely close to dying was when four beams hit me simultaneously. I dropped to like 20% instantly and was really shocked. To be honest, it felt good to actually have the thrill of being near death--forcing me to find use a potion AND find a globe--rather than LOLing at my constant >95% HP.
I can't wait for this game to be difficult, gear to be meaningful, and play with a bunch of friends.
I think the lasers killed me twice until I realized never to stand anywhere near the middle axis rotation point. I don't think creatures have ever come close, besides SK as a level one rare farmer.
Been playing D2 again and I gotta say it's much easier to get killed, especially if you're impaitent. There's no (for the most part) damage mitigation, just dodge so the early damage spikes can easily be fatal. No classes have any AoE worth a dam at the start, and the monster density is much higher. Having to kill Fallen (who can be revived) one at a time is more challenging than anything in the beta. Countess is twice the boss SK is.
Still a great game and I was surprised how entertaining it is after my 7 year hiatus. 800x600 resolution is brutal and all the bots (spam, enchanters, rushers, and boss runners) kind of kill it long term, but it definitely curbs my D3 cravings.

Its surprising how a 12 yr old game can be so fun. My cdkey got generated by someone else or something so i can no longer play bnet, even if i wanted to, so i use hamachi to play with friends

I can recall that any legimate death (ie; I was "trying") was caused by either Arcane Enchanted monsters, both old and new but mostly old version, or the Skeleton King.
I've only died twice and both being on the monk. Each time it was because I only had a few skills and all of them were close-ranged damagers, and when you're against a mini-boss with no health globes in sight, the health pot is only CD and you're at <10% health, and kiting isn't an option, it's time to man up and take it.
It's ok, I forgive you. I realize that Act 1 will be easy content, but I was just curious if there was anyone that actually died a lot during the beta. Nobody has. This basically tells me that nobody has any real evidence that health globes are a successful mechanic yet.
I set some time aside today to watch a playthrough or two from Jarune's thread after getting some feedback from this thread to see if my opinions on health globes were dumb and misguided.
After leaving them running off to the side while doing other things, I only found one segment where I felt the whole health globe + cooldown based potion marriage thing was a big disaster.
It looks like poison is going to rape us if this is how health is going to work in this game. lol.
I was happy to see that they have a few leaper type mobs in Act 1, at least in this playthrough. I wasn't happy to see that the player had to walk in a straight line in one direction for almost a minute because of the circumstances. Other than bringing his barbarian into a pack of mobs at melee range, he didn't really make any mistakes. He also wasn't presented with an opportunity to eat a health globe either. He was forced to just aimlessly run in one direction because of the potion cooldown.
I'm starting to wonder if there is any way we could petition to have some Act 2 gameplay thrown together and have them release it to us or the fan sites. It would give the CM's an actual job to do if you ask me. Anybody have any ideas as to how we could ask for some?

Twice from memory,
1. Vaulted in wrong direction whoops
2. cant remember there name but mob spawned globes that fire laser beams got hit by 5 of those on my wizard, ouch
Havent died yet... even had to face the imba arcane mobs on my barb.
You just have to have good micro and kite skills and you wont die pretty much. I mean the only way you can die is if you do something stupid. I did the beta in roughly 40/45 min from start to finish on most chars. One that took me the longest was monk (if i remember). I think he took me an hour. So by no means am I going slow.
The only time I came close (my something stupid moment) was when I leaped into some pre nerfed Arcane mobs. Knocked me down to about 20% instantly, first time I had to use a potion lol. Dont think I ever hit '5' faster in my life hahah.

In the video he's using bash and cleave together. He's only level 6, but Hammer of the Ancients is available and would probably have been to his benefit. So a bit of bad luck on his part, but if he was set up better it could have worked out a little better for him.

Third time was on purpose for a Screenshot =P

Playing the beta then only getting such a small taste leaves me wanting more, Diablo 2 satisfies that urge

That being said, nothing can kill that game for me, still my favorite game to date.
Diablo2 will always be fun!
