I remember in LOD there was the ability to weapon switch with the push of a button, I always loved it. It added more freedom in certain situtations. Should blizzard implement it in D3 because im really missing it in the beta, or will that cause them to realize 'OH HEY WE NEED TO REVAMP THE ENTIRE CORE SYSTEM AGAIN.'
Could be nice for those classes wanting to use, say 1h+shield and a two-hander, but honestly I don't really care that much. Would be neat to have, but I probably won't miss it ingame when it's not there.
Well OP, not to sound sarcastic or anything, but you have to realize that there's a good chance a good number of people on the Diablo dev team probably didn't play LoD very much. Lesser known features from that old ass game such as weapon swapping probably won't make it into D3.:(.
i don't see a problem with bringing it back though. it's not like people would solely use it just to store another weapon/off-hand combo without using inventory space. It could probably add to the combat and gameplay as opposed to detract from it.

Some people tell me I'm going to hell. I just let them know that I've already packed my bags!
on a serious note, it would add a great deal to the gameplay. How?
For some classes you can use your abilities that dont actually deal dmg, with a fast as fuck weapon to cast them fast, then switch to your 2handed for those boom moves. Ill make you an example of one of my wizard builds, hold on!

"...We few, we happy few, we band of brothers; for he to-day that sheds his blood with me
shall be my brother..."
I want to say Ill miss it, as I used it alot in D2, however the main reason I used it was to switch between spells (playing on a mac laptop made it diffiuclt to get the F keys reliably) and with those spells, switch to weapons that boosted those spells.
Since we have 1. 5 skill slots and 2. no more +skill affixes, I dont think its needed anymore. But Im not in beta and this is all just guessing.
switching weapons was 100% worthless except for 1 thing and 1 thing only. to switch to your 6 socketed MF shield and sword right before a boss died. and since we are no longer doing boss runs, runes dont exist and you cant socket weapons the ability to switch them is now 100% useless overall. switching to a shield in PVP would hardly save your life or make you 10x more dense so thats not a reason either.
fail systems from D2 were removed because they were fail. (gambler, mercenaries, skill tree, runes, attribute allocation, switching weapons ect..)

Wrong.
The runed flail that provided BO? Can't remember the name. HOTO or CTA I believe.
How bout just general BO sticks for barbs?
Weapon/shield you would switch to, so you could pre-buff with higher +Skill?
I agree with the fact that's basically all useless now, though. Thank you for enlightening me.

didn't they show a barb changing weapons between 2 sets of weapons in the gameplay trailer with a fixed loot to show off the epicness of the lategame gear?
i think it would be rather nice to be able to go from pure offensive wise stats on weapons to an defensive stand where you got alot of extra defensive stats atleast on inferno and in pvp it would be great (i think)
I won't miss it at all. Although I hated D2 LoD and just played classic so I made due without it!

Most of you people don't seem to realize how much weapon swapping could bring to D3.
- Using fast dualwield 1H weapons to generate fury and then switching to a big 2H to launch attacks.
- Using sword and board to mitigate damage while closing gap on the ennemy and then swapping for a 2H when close.
- Using Bow and kite and then switch for sword and board or 2H when you are getting closed range.
And i am sure there are a lot of other things usefull this could be used for. Take passives like "weapon master" for example, you can use dualwielded mighty weapons to generate fury and then draw a big 2H axe for damage.
I will surely miss it... i remember the old WOW days when no macro or tools were out yet and i was building my own macros and owning newbs wondering how i was swapping in there face or how i could spam 4-5 abilities so fast. Taking out this feature simplifies some of the strategic aspect of the game and this is a shame.

If only. Blizzard would find some way to fuck it all up. No doubt 3 months would turn into 3 years would turn into 30 years.
I lol'ed.

was good to have on every character.
