I dunno, but I for one have always loved Blizzard's games, ever since I started playing. In my eyes, the games they develop is less something which I am entitled to have, and more a gift from Blizzard. And I'm not in the habit of demanding gifts from people.
I will get the gift when the time is right, and not before, and I am content to wait for it. Because they never fail to deliver.
<3 Blizzard
A gift is something that is free. Blizzard products are not free.
They are not, you are right. But that is not what I meant. Blizzard is giving me the opportunity to play the games they make. An opportunity to glimpse into worlds and stories that are so amazing I am ALWAYS left with a euphoric feeling, and an insatiable hunger for more. That is the gift I am waiting for, and why I love Blizzard and their games.
No you have that wrong. We give them jobs. We keep their business running. They have obligations to us, that is how a business works. A business with no customers is not a business. It's not a gift, it's a product.
Like I said above, thats not it at all... this is an entertainment product..a luxury product.
They make a product thats worth us buying...they are making their own business. If the product is something we dont want...then we dont buy it... they have no obligations to us until the game is in our hands.
Why do you want a release date so badly? It's not like it's going to get here any sooner just because you know of some hypothetical date.
And Blizzard doesn't "jerk us around;" Blizzard does what is necessary to make their games as good as they can be. The assumption that they have "betrayed your trust" because you've waited a little over three years for an awesome looking game is absurd in itself. I know they want to release this game; they're making it. They don't want to give us a shitty game. Be grateful they're taking this much time in the first place.
Rome wasn't built in a day. In fact, it wasn't even built in a hundred. On top of that, it wasn't even built in a thousand. Good things need time, so give Blizzard the time that they deserve. They do enough for us as is. If you want to storm Blizzard HQ with torches and pitchforks, go ahead. Just know that you're betraying the same people who have done so much for us, the Gaming Community.
I really don't care when it's released. I honestly don't. It could be released in 2013 and I would have no quarrels.

I hate the way you cling to ignorance and pass it off as innocence
I have been a firm supporter of Kraft Cheese for a countless number of years. I have loved everything they've done for the world of cheese and the products they have released for our cheesy satisfaction. However, the amount of time fans and supporters have waited for a new product is getting borderline outrageous. This conflict in Korea with the cheese board is obviously holding the cheese back. It's absolutely absurd for Kraft and company to try and deny this fact and continue to string along the very people that make the company stay afloat and progress in the dairy industry. It's high tide that we (the little people) get recognized and get, at the very least, a date for release. This way we can have some semblance of peace knowing Kraft Singles is well on its way to making it to our fridge. Give us what we want Kraft, stop jerking us around. I think we have endured enough.

Heres my gripe, I do respect blizzard for taking their time in making a quality game. You wouldn't be a true fan if you didn't. I just started at a new college and I have been working really hard to make sure I can get ahead enough in my studies that I can devote as much time to the game in the following weeks without hurting myself academically.
This is where the post gets all Nerd Ragey... Blizzard obviously forgets what it means to do quality work under the constrant of a deadline. They cost themselves more money to fix non essencal problems in their quest for perfection. The question is what exactly isn't working that is keeping production behind? The less then promised 2011 release... what happened there? I've been following their stocks and if you look at the day they released that nugget of information it dropped a lot from about $13 to $10 in a matter of hours. normally they only drop .30 - $1 in a trading day with the rise and fall of a normal market. It seems to me that them NOT releasing this game is just costing them. (and yes i know that the activision side of that company accounts for some of it.) On that note I think their new activision overloards are getting in their way.
If you look at Blizzards track rating before the merger they did pretty darn good for release days (by Blizzard standards pretty good.) The WoW expantions seems pretty on the ball on when they got released. Starcraft II was pretty meh on it but on the ball none the less. That announcement came out what 2007? and release was in 2010. Diablo was in 2008? and here we are in 2012 still waiting...
People whined because they felt Diablo 3 was in development, wanted Blizz to at least say they were working on it. Now, the game has been announced, lots of media available for it, there's a beta, and people are whining because the game isn't out, or at least a release date given. Serious bunch of self-entitled crybabies, not just for this game, but any game that's been anticipated. Make it sound like their lives are somehow lessened because of this and look for someone to blame. Get over it already, go outside, get a life. It's just a game.

9/10. Would have been a perfect score if you had made a new account with a cheese related name just for that post.
Blizzard confirms the diablo 3 console project. Further proving my point, thank you blizzard!
does not prove your point in the smallest bit..
How does it not? Don't get me wrong, being a business entrepreneur myself I completely understand the idea. Even if they only make a three percent take off the RMAH, we are still talking about miIlions of transactions weekly. Why would you not include the console gamers.. They will more than likely double the original figure estimates. However, at some point you have to think of how much these decisions are going to affect the gaming communiy. The amount of money this is going to bring in will be astonishing... Lol I think I might go buy some stocks. Wish me luck!
Oh and no matter what I will still buy the game. You win blizzard
Now my posts are being removed... Sad, no one approves of factual or read-worthy information. It obviously captivated your attention for a period of time.

Stop contradicting yourself. You state the importance of the RMAH transactions and how much revenue they will bring in, then call Blizzard moneygrubbing for NOT releasing it now when it would in fact increase their income because of RMAH. How is the console version a bad thing if it will give more players the opportunity to play the game? Many people have a $200 Xbox 360 but don't have a state of the art PC that will play Diablo 3 very well. My PC is by no means old but my video card is listed as "low" end for D3 and doesn't run the client very well.
Maybe your posts are being removed because they are found to be neither factual nor read-worthy by anyone that reads them. The only value they have is they give me something to slap around with logic while waiting for my wife to get home from work.
Well,we're saying "come on Blizz give us the release date!" I'm partially with you guys but on the other hand just think..
What happened when Blizz announced that they were aiming for a end of year 2011 release for Diablo 3? Many people said "come on!Why you postponed the release???"
And now imagine..What would happen if the said an EXACT day for the game and it was not shipped that very day... So before turning your back at Blizzard, remember that it has to be a good matter for them still telling us almost nothing!
Cheers!
Blizz will only give us a release date when they're 100% sure of it. They said it somewhere on the Italian forums. Thus only after Korea give their answer (which is hopefully tomorrow [Wednesday]), but will then be able to have an estimate since they only need to polish the game.
Now, imagine they postpone the game again - think the community will be happy?
Don't think they will... They said it remains "early 2012", whatever this means. Look at it this way: we WILL get it before June. If the GBR in Korea postpone again, now that's a whole new thing...and people will rage at both Blizz and Korea!
