Just got a new gaming rig and after testing variou smouse i choose the roccat nyth to play with. Great mouse. I am fairly new to macro's etc but i feel that it will give u an edge.
To be sure i started a chat with a game master to get some clarity, but he didnt knew
here is the chat:
ARCAXENOSI12:51:49[/header] Hello, I'm game master Arcaxenosi, how are you?[/header]
YOU12:51:57 hello there
ARCAXENOSI12:52:46 Ok, so I'm looking at your ticket, this is a question that we do get a lot.
ARCAXENOSI12:53:29 Sadly we are not able to give a concrete answer to this, simply because we have no idea how the macros that you will use will behave.
YOU12:53:34 i am fianlly getting a grasp of the software which to me is very complex
YOU12:53:44 for example:
YOU12:54:19 i bind to 1 key attack with force move, with that i can then cast a spell without holding shift
ARCAXENOSI12:54:30 A general rule of thumb is to ask yourself "do I know that this is allowed or it may cause me issues?" If you cannot answer that with a yes, then don't do it.
YOU12:54:35 or i can combine force move with a spell and shift
YOU12:55:33 well in all honesty these mouse are made for gaming, to make ur life easier, so i am geussing it is allowd, but lik ei said new to me, i see ppl using macros on forums and stuff, but just need to be sure, i dont play competivly just casual
ARCAXENOSI12:56:01 I totally understand what you are saying. We cannot answer this question however.
YOU12:56:31 so i anot at risk then?
ARCAXENOSI12:57:01 Personally, in my view I wouldn't bother using these kind of macros. Not sure if that answers your question or not.
YOU12:57:40 why wouldnt u bother urself? seems to me it makes the gaming experience a whole lot easier and chilling
ARCAXENOSI12:58:46 Because I have no idea myself, if something like that is against the rules or not.
YOU12:59:08 but if u cannot straight out say me that using macros is forbidden, then i guess i can use it, ill just make a print screen of this conversation
YOU12:59:37 u are an employee of blizzard thats why i am seeking contact, maybe u can check with ur superior or something and come back at me later?
YOU13:00:29 afterall u have guys there who might know this, i do custmoer service too, when i dont know something i never say so to the customer instead ill put them on hold and ask around till i know for sure
ARCAXENOSI13:00:30 O, sorry but the answer will be exactly the same. We cannot give you a straight answer about these things, and I can only refer you to what I said before.
YOU13:00:34[/header] could u do so please?[/header]
so what do u guys think and or know about this subject?
The general rule is that a macro is allowed until 1 key press translates into 1 button pressed by the macro.
In your case combining things and/or using one key to trigger multiple skills/spells is against that general rule. This however does not mean that you will get banned.
My advice is to decide for yourself if the risk is worth it. For example if you can't achieve what you want in any other way (the macro is the only way) and you want to achieve this on any cost, then I'd say risk it. Chance to get banned is not that high. Every competitive player uses macros and ban waves for macros are rare occasions, so don't worry that much about it.
Just would make life easier tbh. Just as ppl use that numlock trick, why not just bind it to ur mouse with 1 buttom, seems to me that, that gives the same effect.
