For me its a toss up between the new rune system, and individual loot drops. The rune system speaks for itself for why its such an exciting feature, but for me nothing about d2 was more discouraging than trying to get loot drops after killing a boss in d2, only to never get anything because i had the highest latency(remember back in the day, a lot of us played on high latency dial up connections! Someone with a DSL or T1 line, would always get first pick unless they fell asleep.)
What about everyone else? If you had to pick one(or a tie between two) feature from D3 that you're most excited about, what would it be?

I actually didnt see the top 5 thread when i made this

So lets mix it up a little bit and say which game system are you most excited about, leaving out things like lore and the new story since those are kind of a given.
Choosing only 5 was hard enough, choosing just one is harder yet!
I think I'll go with how the game is designed to make you want to explore it, which is because of how random it is and that great loot drops off mobs other than bosses.
And also the RMAH; I'm quite excited to think about finding an awesome Item, selling it on the RMAH, and then logging in the next day to find I've made $5
Edit: Within reason... $5 might be a bit expensive and I may also want to keep that item for another toon, but its still interesting stuff

Im excited to go pushing demons faces in with my friends like we use to. As it was said in the first diablo video long ago " theres nothing like bashing monsters with your friends.". A lot of work was put into the multi player.
No infinitely repetitive boss runs for gear - I've already started to condition myself - rather than running Hell Meph over and over and over and over Ive been hitting ancient tunnels and a few other alvl 85 areas instead.
/Oh and LOTS of viable builds instead of the same 3 builds/class that exists now.

The new Skill system... I think it's so easy to use and the possibilities of builds are endless! My only concern linked to the Skill system is the Nephalem Altar; someone has mentioned it before and I think a simple 10 second cast time to change skills anywhere in the diablo world would have been a better alternative.

I agree, and i think that since its still beta, they just threw that out there to see what kind of reaction it got. By the time the game launches i'm confident we'll have something different/better.

It could be the alter is a beta quick fix. alltho I agree the skill swapping should be on a 10 second cast or something, couldn't you just use the stone of recall and use the alter in town? Thats not that much longer then 10 seconds right?
Randomization, the loot and just all the classes' skills, their effect and how they look with all the different rune combinations...I will probably rather use a skill+rune that looks awesome and is less effective than a powerful skill, but looks shitty, but I don't think there's one skill+rune combo that doesn't look awesome.

I think your right in saying that the Altar may be a quick beta fix, but if it were implemented, a 10 cast to recall back to town isn't too big of an issue, but having to do it every time to look at a skill which I might not even use is just a nuisance... I'm pretty confident though that they would allow you to look at skills, just not change them... Still too early to call but this is all off topic now

I hate to sound like a sheep but the rune system! Such a unique and interesting concept that is going to add so much variety to the game. Very close second is the difficulty in inferno.

Man that's going to be fun
shared stash.
But more seriously, probably the rune system. Maybe the hundreds of fckn gems I'm going to be collecting. The collector in me is giggling.
