so idk about anyone else but i played wow for 3 years and not ONCE looked at any of the forums for wow. why? because i can play the game and google anything that i need help with, which wasnt often at all. very rare. so once D3 comes out, why use the forum? you can discuss builds/other things with people IN the game that your actually playing with. diablo isnt really a game you get help with either, its very simple and very easy to figure out. so what good is the forum once release is out? will the forums have 10x less people?
Well seeing as there is no in game guild system I imagine people will use them to keep in contact. We'll also have some useful tools, news on patches, people discussing lore. This forum was around before D3 was even announced, it'll for sure be around when the game goes live.

And "DiabloFans" is a great name, its a big universe to explore. A name liks "Diablo3.com" is kinda restricted to ONLY Diablo 3. The Lore is gonna be epic, and I will return to Diablofans after 5 weeks of isolation and Diablo 3.

For anyone that doesn't know, we used to BE Diablo3.com, but gave the domain name to Blizzard in '08 when they were announcing.
thanks for the input guys. i was just curious because i honestly didnt know since ive never used forums before diablofans. first forum ever... :D. but that makes sense. i mean me personally, i may not spend too much time on here, pretty much if im not in the game playing ill be using the skill calculator or looking at gear on the main website. how much did u sell diablo3.com to blizzard for? must of been alot, if you gave it up for free then thats really foolish. considering domain names have sold for over 7 million dollars without a website on it.
We gave it for free. A fan wouldn't charge them for it! They did link to us for about a week after the transition though which was nice.
WOW.... so bad. they only linked to you for a week? and you gave it for free? why on earth would you do that? you could of gotten hundreds of thousands of dollars for it... epic fail :/. they have plenty of money to go around. could of used that money to make this website 10x more popular. or just anything you wanted.
Well I didn't personally do it, the owner of the site at the time did. I just happened to be around. Lol.
Still though squeezing them for money probably would have landed us on their shit list and we wouldn't be part of the fansite program. The site was made to talk about a possible expansion at the time. Everyone getting to play Diablo 3 is worth more than all the money in the world in my opinion.

lol well i suppose if it was between hundreds of thousands of dollars OR diablo 3, id pick D3. but id rather have both... lol
Annyhow, i for one know even tho my activity within DiabloFans wil be less AFTER game is released, i still know that every now and then il be comming back here, for example if im stuck on a boss and want to get some tips from people who DID manage to defeat it.
Simpel example.
so my post is fail how? I'm asking people out of curiosity because i dont know, because of the grammar? Ya because all of our posts are being graded like were in high school. How awesomely hypocritical of you considering half of your words are spelled wrong and/or missing letters. lmao

I would definitely not give it for free. If they promised me a free copy of Diablo 3, I would think about... If they threw in a free action figure, I would be happy to give it away. If they gave me a free ticket to next Blizzcon I would be like "WTF! Take the damn domain already!".
But seriously, not even a "thank you" card, not a "I'm the Blizzard's biggest fan" free T-shirt. That feels sad...

Wooooow there hold your horses son, who the fuck sayd ANNTHING about spelling ? Why u trippin mate ?
I myself am 2 lazy 2 correct my spelling so why in gods name would i start trashing on some1 elses spellin ? Think bro, THINK befor you talk.
Talk to HunterScTv about it, he stated it, im just agreeing on it.
The forums will probably have guides, much more detailed than those "BradyGames" types of guides, where they genericaly state something like "be careful with 'x' spell of the boss" and more in-depth understanding of how a given build progresses through the game.
Also, it amazes me how easy people assume Diablo 3 will be, and I am totally expecting a TON of topics being created to complain about Nightmare and Hell difficulties in the first couple weeks, with people saying "wah Blizz you said a lot of builds have to be viable but I can't overcome this part, nerf 'x' monster naow!!".
When I played WoW I still posted on the forum regularly, near the end posting on the forum was more fun than actually playing the game (no wonder I quit, right?).

The question isn't why do I kill. The question is, why I don't kill everybody.

Haha true, Force died in the Beta, with a Barb...but he was attacked by an enchanted monster, but still. Yeah I think some people still thinks it's just clickety click with zero(pS) mental strain like D2 (excluding Baal ect if you count fighting him as mental strain). Even the shitty monsters in D3 will have some sort of tactic against you...
My D2 experience tells me there will be no shortage of topics.
Forums could be used, amongst other things, to organize contests, meetings, share infos, relay our experiences, gather suggestions, brag about our achievements, discuss technical issues and just friendly chat.

The forum is good for hanging out, make battle friends, talk about expansions and builds and look deeper into the lore of Diablo, since its massive.

I had a small memory of that, but, Diablofans is way better name, we have grown to love it.
