Hey everyone. For season 9 I am thinking of doing a Thorns Crusader since I have not done one since S5 when Invoker was last offered as a freebie set. I really enjoyed the build - very simple, effective, and still incredibly tough. The question is - has anyone done extensive testing on if a hybrid of 2 pieces of Invoker + full Akkhans might be better for a thorns build? Thanks.

and ive yet to seen the hybrid build doing better than pure invoker. but it might be because no one really tried.

So does that mean pure thorns invoker doesn't work any more?

It works, but it looks there might be a problem with 6pc area damage that transitioned from recent PTR. Discussed here:

Ah, dang. So that's a bug with the current patch? I'm pushing GR71 right now with level 60 gems and 8 ancients so I'm actually still pretty impressed with the progress. If I augment and find some good ancient rolls then I don't see a problem with hitting 85+

Yep that's a weird bug introduced during PTR and seems like dev's do not care anymore
