Its been 8 seasons and people still cannot get the order correct.
It is very simple, open the world map and check where the bonus is active.
Starting from Season 5 bounties became a necessity to complete all 5 acts versus spamming act1.
We need a petition to fix the system on bounties.
This will help out both groups and solo play as there will be no "blacklisting" of bad players.
If the order system is removed the miss click scenario can be avoided at all times.
If a player disconnects from the servers, they can complete the bounties they lost.
Another idea I have is to remove the bounty system entirely. This idea came from the "special PTR vendor"
What if we pay for bounty caches with shards.
kadala will have another tab for act specific caches.
375 shards = 8 mats from 1 act. and loot from that act.
500 shards = 12 mats from 1 act. and loot from that act.
They won't remove bounties... there'd be next to no reason to venture out into the game world then. If they did, all one would do would be to run rifts and grifts (and eventually challenge rifts) from the town hub. You might go kill a key warden from time to time but there'd be nothing else in the game world to do.
The system isn't broken so it doesn't need fixing. It's working as intended, aside from lacking misclick prevention. It's a pointless grind, but so are many things in the game, like requiring low grift runs to level up gems or running a rift solely for the grift key at the end.
The order system is in place to randomize the feature and get people doing the content without mindlessly grinding one act over and over. If they remove the order, then people would go back to farming one act. A better solution is to implement bounty counts on the UI, maybe a big indicator with completion status in the top middle so everyone knows where they should be progressing instead of checking the map. Have the UI only appear If you join a bounty run through the adventure mode option, or pop up after the first bounty in a zone is completed. If a bounty is done in the non-bonus zone, it should clearly state on your screen where the bonus is.
Make the progress checker only appear in town. Make it big, noticeable and in your face; annoying enough that if you want to get rid of that screen clutter you need to complete the bounty.
The order of the bounties is predictable, it follows a known pattern.
In patch 2.4.1 the 'A3 or A4' conundrum, which was the most common mistake, was resolved.
There are things worth improving; there could be more variety, some bounties feel cumbersome and could be streamlined, the divide (in terms of yield) between running 4 person split and solo (or any other combination or permutation that is not 4 person split) could and should be bridged, even a case could be made for an entire revamp of the bounty system.
However as MugsyAU points out without bounties there is little reason to access the world beyond a handful of achievements that require it.
Moreover scrapping the whole system based on the fact that some people cannot or (most likely) will not try to achieve a bare minimum of competence and proficiency is an absurd proposition.
A reasonable proposition would be to try to educate those people and if for whatever reason that is not feasible scrapping them, not the system.
I have another idea. To remove exact order, every act will give one bounty cache and when all 25 bounties was finished in a row to give a bonus cache with more items and maths.
I would be cool with using shards for bounty mats, but not at the rates OP mentioned.
I would do 1 act mat is 500 bloods.
Thus, it is simply a different variation of a dump when you have nothing left to use bloodshards for other than a small .5% upgrade. That at least gives us a choice, but also will still make farming the bounties the best way to get the mats.
The order system just makes no sense, as it was introduced at the same time as the bounty mats, which was the point at which you no longer could skip crappy acts anyway. It never made sense to me that they wanted to force you to do them in some order after that.
All it does now is mean when I need RoRG or Avarice or something, I end up with a ton of extra mats, since I can't just do the other acts, because A1 is the in the middle of the damn bonus cycle, so I either do it anyway or I only do 1 act when it's the bonus act, skipping the hour that a1 is the start of the cycle, which heavily dictates what I and when.
Seems wholly unnecessary to me. If they want to encourage doing all of the acts anyway, it needs a different reward that isn't tied to bounty mats and cache legendaries.
like requiring low grift runs to level up gems or running a rift solely for the grift key at the end.
Really wish that they'd grant something like 20 upgrades if you do a GR that's 40 levels above the gem you're trying to upgrade.
Yeah I think you should gain extra upgrade chances based on the level of the gem and GR you do. Such as every 10 GR lvls above the level of you gem grants you additional upgrade chances.
GR100: lvl 99 gem can be upgraded once.
GR100: lvl 90 gem can be upgraded 5 times.
GR100: lvl 80 gem can be upgraded 10 times
There are currently only 3 things to do: Rifts, Greater Rifts and Bounties.
And you want to remove 1 of them?
I think his main point was to remove the order "requirement" though.
otoh, Bounties is kind of a strange mode as of now. It's OP as hell when farming for a perfect ancient weapon with low drop-rate. But the basic setup is:
- equip as much speed gear/skills you can get away with on a 6pc set
- lower difficutly until you can insta-smash bosses solo in a 4-man
- join a pub
- mindlessly run around the map totally ignoring the "world" and you fellow party members
The only of the thing of the 4 items above that is anything close to fun is creating the speed-build character imho.
/Ivar
Or... you could do what I have done with 10k+ bounties: do it alone, which enables me to not ignore the world around me and actually interact with it in any way I see fit whenever I see fit and although the yield could be better enjoy it just fine regardless.
A better hourly yield would have been an unexpected (but not uncalled for) nicety, but is one that we get used to play without.
The OP is repeatedly hitting a brick wall compounded of human stupidity and the obsession of Blizzard of making the game 'four man or bust' (even by letting a broken mechanic go unchecked for years) face first, and instead of asking the right questions, like 'why have I bought into this idea that I need to hit this brick wall' is shouting at the brick wall hoping that if he shouts loud enough and enough people join in it will become a bouncy castle.
And regarding his proposal or any proposal along these lines that has cropped up here and there benefiting solo play... good try trying to bring onboard as many people as possible to the shouting party, but when it comes to doing it solo it makes no difference whether the bonus act rotates or stays put, or whether you get disconnected in the middle, beginning or end of a run. It is a mild irritation soon remedied by the fact that the bounty sequence is knowable and predictable, and as such you can easily plan to balance things out with minor adjustments.
If when confronted with a task or challenge one doesn't have enough friendly, competent and trustworthy people to play with and finds dealing with the challenges of playing with randoms vexing wouldn't it be a better question to ask why one feels forced to go through this experience rather than calling for an alteration or a total elimination of this task without offering an alternative of equal value?

I'd like this system a lot. It would remove the grind of it by a lot but as a more casual player, I waste a lot of time grinding normal rifts to get GRift keys to grind grifts to level up gems. It doesn't happen that much but enough to make it a boring grind- speed running grift 50 to level up a level 12 gem.
Why not just add a confirmation windows if is not a bonus act, something like:
"This act is not a bonus act. Are you sure?"
Yes / No
Some people farm goblins (rainbow or pets).
Some people farm transmogs.
Some times you may want to farm Keywardens.
None of these matter if it is a bonus bounty. Stop with these fucking confirmation windows.
Um he meant when turning in for the cache...Geez someone piss in your cereal this AM or is clicking OK one more time to keep someone in your party from turning in the WRONG cache too much for ya?
Misunderstood when you suggest the confirmation popped up. I thought you meant porting to a zone, not turn-in.
Regardless, it is very annoying having to confirm everything I do on a computer (game or otherwise). Every time I try to do something, I am asked if I am sure. Yes I"m sure, that's why I clicked it
I'd say the problem with bounties is a bigger one:
The "bonus-cache" thing is only a problem because of the way how we run the bounties: We spread 4 people over 4 acts and clear them as quickly as possible, because the highest torment available is still nothing compared to the GR levels being cleared.
Difficulty outside rifts should be increased and reward should be increased equally.
The bonus act isn't the problem, the fact that everything is speed-ran is.

that would just make it lazy imo i would rather work for my mats then just pay for em

removal of the order is a great idea.. or in other words, making everything like bonus

Yes, the random rotation of the bonus cache needs to be done away with. It's confusing for many noobs or half asleep players.
It also makes running just those one or two acts that you're low on mats frustrating.
Should be an easy enough fix to just add bonus caches and delete the code for the bonus.
Misunderstood when you suggest the confirmation popped up. I thought you meant porting to a zone, not turn-in.

Removeing bounties is bad idea cos they wanted us to do something else too, not just rifts and grester rifts...

It should be all acts in order all the time (Acts 1-5)!
