I was under the impression that the beta was supposed to be a near finished product and that server stress was to be the focus of the beta.
After lurking around the official b.net forums, there are a lot more gameplay bugs/glitches than I would have expected. For gameplay only part of the way through act I there seems to be a lot of bugs. There are many mechanics, monsters, abilities, etc. that will never get the beta treatment before release.
Are they still internal testing the gameplay mechanics or are they focusing entirely on the beta?

idk but i feel the same way there is ALOT more bugs than i expected i wonder if blizz is thinking the same....thing i dont get is why do a stress test with not that many plp? make me ponder...
i am reading about quite a few bugs.. but i don't really see any gamebreaking bugs.. most of what i see are things that can be patched up after the game release or with a day one patch... i am more concerned about their servers crashing (which they seem to be doing often for the time being)
Most of these bugs are under already known, and most likely were fixed for release. Nothing seems to be a problem other than a few things they are already fixing.

It's a small list for the small amount of content the beta covers, but there are 3 1/2 more acts, 2 more artisans, dozens of quests, monsters, skills and runes. The only reason we have the list we have is because of feedback from the beta. How many more bugs would there be if all gameplay was available?

internal testing is taken care of the rest...so it dosnt mean much.

It's been said many times, but I'll say it again:
The internal beta that Blizzard has been running for a while now in their headquarters skipped the first 1/3 of act 1 because they knew that we would be testing it. So most (but probably not all) bugs from the rest of act 1 and onward will have been found and remedied already.
They also said it's to get a good test going on many many different kinds of hardware that players are going to have, so there will be many hardware (even driver) specific bugs. I wouldn't read too terribly much into this.
Compared to Diablo 2 1.00, I'd say it's already pretty damn solid.
The only serious bug I've encountered was I was able to trade my friend gold twice. I meant to trade 1500, but I was able to double click and it sent him 1500 twice.

This. Also there is a queue to fixing bugs. Most bugs I've seen in the beta so far are just cosmetic things that does not alter gameplay, this is on the bottom of the "get-fixed" queue.
Apparently the AH isn't resetting the blacksmith anymore? I really hope that's true, that was probably one of the bugs that was keeping the mass-invites from going out.
We can only hope that the beta client and the current internal test client are completely different versions.
In the sense that the beta client has only what's absolutely necessary for them to test system compatibility without revealing anything about the game.

At least that's my wishful thinking =]
More bugs than they expected.
