Every reference at Blizzcon, even through the Necro video as well as from the ending of A5 have a common theme. That theme is the Nephilim having to much power and becoming a threat to humanity itself.
Well, if you pay close attention, the Necro calls the Nephilim the "Heroes of Light". Referring to them as something else, we can assume that the Necro is NOT a Nephilim. So is the Necro being recruited by Tyrael through the horadrim? I feel that this all makes too much sense.
It is a risky proposition however, because if the core of the Next and Likely last D3 expansion is to remove the threat of the Nephilim, what will happen to the classes that we all love (Barb, DH, WD, Monk, Wiz, Sader)? Will there be new class art done to change the appearance of the class to notify us that the individual we played as was in fact a Nephilim, but we have not yet attained that achievement?
Furthering my evidence, they discuss in numerous interviews changes for the future, beyond 2.4.3, beyond 2017, and they always have this giddy smile on their faces about it. They are also unwilling to comment on any question regarding the "Unannounced Project" in which they have been hiring many additional staff members to assist with.
Realizing that the current staff of D3 is likely also working on this "Unannounced Project" it makes logical sense that the project is D3 X2, the Fall of the Nephilim. After all, the reason D3 Vanilla became a mess was because of a difference of passion and views due to the 4 year layoff of developing the game to assist with WoW (confirmed via Blizzcon 25th anniversary panel having been 2005-2008).
My poop was a bit more solid then normal today... so yah I could see how that might lead some to believe it as evidence that something in the future might happen!!
Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
Playing Diablo since 97. I know nothing and having nothing good to say, I be a troll.

What are your thoughts regarding this rumor?
I have a thought that OP is a blind Blizzard fanboy who adores absolutely anything with (c) Blizzard
I'm done speculating. Let's just wait until the moment they stand before us with a tangible announcement, whatever that may be.
Right now, just look forward to what they announced, or don't, whichever. But anything else, just let it slip from your thoughts.
At best, we know they are working on things, because of hires. That's it. But we always knew they were working on things. That's what people do at work. lol If that were not the case, Wyatt, Travis, Kevin Martens would have moved on long ago.
Don't waste your energy reading tea leaves (or stool samples, lol).
I'm excited for the new areas and the anniversary dungeon in January.
Not sure if i would be willing to pay for a new class unless there is other additions included. The necromancer looks cool but anything over $10 for just that would be ridiculous IMO. As far as an expansion Id rather see new gear and skills.

Yes, the hype train for Diablo really got out of hand this year. Even major gaming news sites got in on it (double win when Naomi Kyle reads news about Diablo!). I guess is shows that we are indeed passionate about the franchise but also sets up the community for massive disappointment.
Somehow I think some of this stuff like the D4 die was deliberate as a means for Blizzard to gauge what the community wants so they can make their next step.
Though, IMHO, I think D4 will come when they can get their security right to include an offline mode. D3 got massive flack for the online only requirement. I dare say that bringing seasons to console is a way for them to test that.
Without ever having attended one, I can guarantee you OP that every employee is briefed in a meeting before Blizzcon to smile at every question, and never shoot anything down directly, instead be vague. "Is there going to be a D4?!", *employee smiles*, "What, are you trying to get my fired?!" doesn't actually mean anything, at all.
If they weren't even ready to *announce* anything, and in the same breath tell us the Necro will be at least 8 months out, we AREN'T getting anything new, expansion or otherwise, for YEARS. We'll be lucky if they even talk about anything at the NEXT Blizzcon.
Stop hyping yourself, and just play games you enjoy, it'l make everything a lot more fun.

I have a thought that this guy is a angry nerd who doesn't enjoy live and adores trying to shit on anyone enjoying themselves with a game he doesn't.
Diablo 3: Rise of The Necromancer is being released in 2017 when Nintendo Switch launches. Season to console will be available when Nintendo Switch is released. Another DLC will likely follow called Diablo 3: Path of The Druid. Both Necromancer and Druid will have Vitality as their primary stats. Every reason to play Diablo 3 on Nintendo switch. More zones will likely be added as well two additional boses Lilith - Rise of The Necromancer, and Inuras - Path of The Druid. After defeating Lilith and Inuras. We will then be ask to join either Lilith in dominanction of Hell or Inuras for overtaking of Heaven. Then there will be world PvP and Arena ladder PvP.
All fat Devs of Diablo already left beside Wyatt Chang cus hes better than everyone else so far.
Anyways fastfoward Diablo 3: Ultimate Eviler on Nintendo Switch Edition will be rated 10/10 in first quater of 2019. Diablo Dev team then move on World of Diablo where players recontinue the saga and have 7 prime evils to defeat and/or 7 angelic angels. Again with the aid of either Lilith and Inuras
