"Challenge rifts (...) this is probably the biggest part of tomorrow's announcements" (start watching at 2:40, link above).
So yeah, there goes the hope that some people had that we might get a huge announcement tomorrow Time to face it, guys, though some of the new stuff sound nice, there isn't a hidden expansion/new game announcement coming.
If you do not think Challenge Rifts are huge, idk what is to people like you!
It is a Rift that disregards everything and makes it about SKILL. THIS IS WHERE TRUE COMPETITION CAN HAPPEN. I love it.
Finish it without dying gives you another gem upgrade chance? Pffftttt reward further the softcore easy mode whilst those of us that prefer hardcore get no reward...how is that fair?
??? You'll also get the extra roll in HC...
Aye but its a reward for doing nothing that we are not doing already! Not dying!
It's still a reward. It would be unfair to not get the bonus roll at all. Getting the same as SC players is not unfair.
True...but they reward HC players for doing nothing different whilst they are rewarding SC players for actually trying to not die...strange concept to reward a HC player for doing nothing different.
You are assuming that because people play softcore that they must obviously suck and die all the time. This is most definitely not the case, sure I occasionally die when pushing my characters limits, but nowhere close to even being considered frequent deaths.
Kind of a weird argument. People die in HC too, so yes, it is a reward for not dying.
There should be much more of this tbh, I have sadly stopped playing HC (well, not playing D3 at all currently) because of the random disconnects and major lag/DDOS issues that has plagued the game. but it would be lovely if some of the experience could be recreated in SC, with meaningful rewards for caring about your survival.
Sucks that the challenge rifts make you play a different class/build than what you want, i hoped for a fixed rift with limited gem lvls, paragon and augments like it seems it will be but using your own character and not a preset one...
Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
Those Who Do Not Know True Pain Cannot Possibly Understand True Peace...
^ It's true that a preset removes the factor of fine tuning the build to your play style, but if CRifts are weekly events, we will have: 7 + 2 + 3 + 4 = 16 preset builds to choose from per week. This is a big number and everyone can freely choose the preset he likes most and start pushing solo/multi. And even if one doesn't like anything, he can wait for the next week and grind some paragon levels in the meantime (kappa). We have to see more details on CRifts later today.
P.S. And 16 seems like the minimum. They can select more 2/3/4 player combos if they like.
