Way back in the day I used to play with people on the Amazon Basin website - they had password protected "public" games where anyone wanting to play with other basin members would join. You had to be logged in to the forums to see the pword/gamebase name chosen for the day - for example the pword for any Amazon game name that day would be "java222" and every game would start with javaab or something similar so you could search on them. Any intention of implementing a similar system here? I like to play either alone or (at the very least) with people I am reasonably sure are not jackass 12 year olds...
the join system so far isn't going to be like the old system of D2. Its going to be a set of public private options when you log in.
I havent seen anyone join or make a game on the few videos Ive watched - what does that mean? Can you not create a pword protected game that others not currently logged on can see? Do you need to pick who can join from some list?
when the streamers logged onto their characters they had an option to make a public or private game, blizzard already said they aren't making the join system like D2. You will just join on people depending on what quest you pick instead.

Went outside today, the graphics were ok. But the gameplay sucked
I'm sure when the game gets up and running there will more than likely be a 'Who's playing?' thread where people looking for players can advertise their game and/or look for one with likeminded people.
EG:
'Looking for 3 more for a casual Nightmare run through, on Act 3. Friendly chilled out ppl only :)'
'Looking for 1 more for FAST Inferno run through, starting Act 2. MUST be geared and skilled.'
etc etc
Just had a funny thought of making a "Craig's List" for group findings, where the listing would go away after a week just incase the group fell apart or people stopped playing.
I remember seeing a system somebody designed for an online game once. What game I can't remember.
Basically you signed in and checked that you were playing, and it compiled a list of all active playing members. When you were done playing just uncheck yourself.
There is also an IRC Bot that you can ~LFG on and then anybody can join your room and say ~ANYLFG and it would list all active people LFG. then once you disconnected from the chat it would remove your name.
If it is possible to set up public passworded games, and there's enough user demand, I'm sure something like that can be arranged.
But that's part of the "release fever", right now we're still going through the "beta fever" stage, where everyone's freaking out at every drop of information about the closed beta.
