I still don't understand how can people react in such way. Are you that blind that you can't see all the hints and information we have that Blizzard is really doing something for the Diablo franchise. Something new is happening on BlizzCon for Diablo, not old or what else, but something new. Its so obvious it hurts me when I see people that just refuse to believe that. Especially when I know that those people were ones emotionally attached to the first two Diablo series. Show some hope guys.
People know not to get their hopes up because they are used to getting screwed over. You might have not been around for the last few conventions where Blizzard literally took a dump on Diablo fans with nothing but panels of bullshit. But people who have seen those with very high hopes got burned so bad that there is really no reason at all to be hyped for anything Diablo related. I like to be an optimist and hope for some cool fighting / 3rd person game but i know deep down that if Diablo gets anything new, it would be a retarded mobile game with a fucked up micro transactions business model... Maybe something like the Scrolls game by Mojang.
Adding to the tin-foil. Travis Day's secret project is overhauling character stats. They did it once when he worked on WoW. Why not here? He's even expressed interest in doing it, but that there wasn't enough time to.
Can someone explain to me the reasons (and stuff) that can support the D4 annoucement?
I don't know too much about it even because I started playing D3 - RoS again this month (after a year of not playing it) and to me there isn't too much that can support D4 annoucement. I know that the Diablo team isn't very active nowadays but I think that if they will make something to D3 it will be a second expansion but not D4. Thanks and sorry about my english I still learning it.
PS: I play on PS4, can't join the master race becausd it is too expensive for me in my country.

There are tons of theories out there like a purposeful mistake on D4 D&D dice given out in a goody bag, or the new logo being a square (4 sides, 4 corners, etc....).
Most importantly, it is the 20th anniversary, you know as well as I do that SOMETHING will happen, whether it is D4 or not, who knows?

Well, it is an interesting concept for sure, but I would look at something like this as a final step to maintenance mode, and not a good sign for D3's future. Which is entirely possible!
However, there is a few scenarios where a numbers overhaul could lead to much of what we want. MAINLY, A GAME BASED ON GEAR, NOT PARAGON. I say this because most system overhauls with stats are not just a pruning, but usually a complete redesign of the entire system's inputs and outputs.
Even if Diablo 4 could be just speculation - rumors about it already points to how low Diablo 3 has fallen for the fan base. Fans wanting very drastic changes to the game makes it feel like an expansion isn't even worthy, so why not just create a whole new game?

Well, we heard this story regarding vanilla, and RoS made the game pretty darn good.
The issue is that the game they designed was not designed for long haul survival. They thought easier to obtain gear and seasons was going to keep people excited, instead, it literally DESTROYED THE CONCEPT OF THE GAME!!! Instead, the game should be centered around era's, maybe 6 months each, with lower drop rates, and the removal of sets, so that there are numerous build variations to attempt to succeed with.
Set powers can be added to the cube, making all gear slots viable and lowering drop rates of gear would go a long way to bringing life back to Diablo 3 with or without an expansion.
It is a lot cheaper to make a D3 expansion and with a few nice incentives it will still sell very well. If they will not release another EXP for diablo 3 one thing is clear they have no idea where to go with this game as time and time they have shown us.
Exactly, I can see it now:
"Pre-Order your copy of D3 Xpac2 and get this pet, these wings, this banner, and a Diablo Pet for WoW, Diablo card backs for Hearthstone, unlock all Diablo related skins in Heroes, AND unlock Tyrael's wings in Overwatch."
To me it looks like a new expansion is out of the question. Josh M. Said in an interview the game would be a "reaper of patches" or something similar. In hindsight this indicates to me that they weren't working on a new expansion anymore shortly after the game launched. Instead all the so far produced content would be distributed in patches instead. Of course this would lead to the end of Josh M.being he game director, as they need a new vision for a new/reworked game.
I'd go for 1 game that features the whole (and pimped) story or D1/D2 with modern graphics but keeps the classes and systems mostly the same.

The little boat gently drifted across the pond exactly the way a bowling ball wouldn’t...
It's kind of nice to see a cute animated Diablo on the Battle.net launcher to tie in with the Virtual BlizzCon ticket. I just noticed they added that change this morning. Not that it's a dead giveaway that Diablo fans are getting big news soon - but taken with the job posting and everything else...who knows?

Maybe it's a mobile game coming out looking at that image on the launcher but I'm sticking with my thought of a new class
Idk I want to be hopeful of something big but I'm not going to get excited about anything.

The way i see it the D3X2 was likely under developement but was scrapped and the content was given away in patches. That means they are working on d4, because they are not doing like nothing at all in progressing the series. I dont see any reason its too soon for it now. Fifa is made every year, so is COD. We dont have to wait a decade
every time, like its not a law of nature that it will be a decade.
But i have a hard time believing its not d4 coming because of the d4 in the goodie bag.
You cant put a D4 in it and expect it not to be a hint. And dices doesnt really have anything to do with diablo, so its a stretch to have a D4 to begin with. And then there is a mistake on it, okay that happens sometimes. But the mistake turns out to be the exact blizzcon date. And at the same time blizzard is said to be notorious on these type of riddles in overwatch. So its something they would have done.

Sounds hard to be random imo.
Except for it to be a non-random mistake.... One would think that Blizz would have made ONLY that mistake in the numbers.
I just posted a post and want to get rid of this but it's been marked as spam *facepalm* It is no big deal but I'd rather not make an account in other place someone unspam it lol
Hey guys, stay a while and listen, I've got a wall-o-text to deliver.
The reason I am posting this is:
There was a Diablo related major leak. Some people know about it, and perhaps about way more than will be revealed at Blizzcon I presume. But they don't want to share anything with the community, a little clique has built around the leak origin. Now why would I care and share, well it is not to go public. It's because these persons could have influence over the direction of the game (not sure it'd be a proper influence) being the only external group knowing pertinent details (it is quite likely Blizzard is not aware of the leak) and could use social engineering to get to have an influence over the crucial phase of game development Diablo IV is in right now. Why should a small group of people that have information obtained in perhaps illicit ways; it having been leaked so there's nothing to do about it; keep it for themselves and laugh at the whole Diablo community's speculations, hopes, despairs etc. like if they're some secret worthy chosen arcane society. Fuck those losers. Really. As for me, I'm just doing what has to be done, I don't care, I'm posting this and that's it for me on the subject. From a bogus account, obviously.
Okay I will post in parts, sorry for the multi-post spam, but I keep getting auto-spam classed because of length.
So Part2:
Here we go, including roadmap details:
-Diablo 3 was supposed to have 2 expansions. The Auction House was supposed to be a lifelong feature of the game. That plan had to change for the sake of the game.
-The second expansion was in development, however the team realized that they could not realistically finish the story of the franchise with respect and sense and coherence with only one more expansion and the constraints they had to deliver it (D3 was, at first supposed to end the "normal" Diablo trilogy, not the whole franchise though).
-Also all Blizzard modern games are monetized beyond purchase, example Overwatch has to be bought and then there is in-game $$$ money transactions that are not P2W but add an amount of revenue (a considerable amount). D4 will be a full release and there will be in-game $$$ transactions, but not P2W. So what is about to happen next makes sense from an executive position.
-The second D3 expansion was canceled, content done was recycled in around 1 and a half year duration of free content patches for the Reaper of Souls expansion. The D3 team was totally reduced, only key people remained or essential tasks folks.
-The D4 team was formed. D4 is the direct continuation of D3.
-An important person at Blizzard left to take care of family and such, Chris Metzen. He is the father of Leah, he does the stories and more. However he did the whole D4 storyline before leaving and also the 2 D4 expansions, it is for sure this time D4 will have two full expansions.
-The D3 engine is fantastic, D4 will be on an updated version. Always online of course. Warden (or a new thing) will also be reinforced so things like maphack will be insta-banned (at least the the design goal) unlike what happened to D3. Hopefully this will screw bots faster than it happened in D3. They are very aggressive about this, this time, about game integrity.
-All classes from D3 will be back and 2 more at launch (they are not pertinent for me to spoil, you will know this at Blizzcon anyway, but one of them is a fan and, one of mine too, favorite...), however they will be very different because of the events in D4.
-Last freaking year there was a freaking HUGE D4 clue at Blizzcon and almost nobody gave a damn??!! WTH guys??!! On really big panels where you saw all of Blizzard's franchises, there was a female Crusader representing the Diablo universe, however she was tainted, hurt, corrupted but still fighting for the light... she was not "normal" it was obvious but people didn't look into it like at all if I remember lol. Diablo 4 was already in development for quite some time (unknown how long exactly). She was not representing Diablo 3. She was representing Diablo 4. Go take a look and be amazed.
-There is a video of a guy explaining how the Diablo D4 dice (part of Diablo themed dices in Blizzcon 2016 goodies bag that the press I guess got samples in advance) is not a manufacturing mistake but a cryptic clue at D4's existence. That guy is a smart cookie, he totally nailed it. It is not a manufacturing or design mistake. I mean this could be obvious to some but his analysis is really on point for others.
-The classes will all be hurt and changed like the Crusader girl, this will explain why some skills, mechanics etc. change from a lore or rational perspective (to interate on D3, to make it even "better", D3 has gotten pretty good over the years).
