We should probably wait until after Gamescom before we get all crazy. They can't really reveal much in Diablo without saying there's a new giant expansion if it was just a content patch they would probably have said something about it.
I also found it interesting they are also bringing Diablo 1 and Diablo 2 as well.
Well, pretty much as was to be expected - nothing about Diablo at Gamescom.
well, if you think blizzard was going to do a big annoucement in a little preview before gamescom start, you are crazy
Of course they wouldn't reveal everything, but it's very likely Wyatt would say something like "we have some exciting things coming in the next few days, make sure to check out the stream tomorrow!".
I think people who still expect anything are crazy. Nothing will happen at Gamescom this year.
Yeah the problem was that she asked him directly if there were going to be more content patches (not sure why they had her question worded so directly but whatever) and then he flat out talked only about past things. If there was anything coming I'd have expected something like "we're always working on new content" or "you'll just have to wait and see" or anything other than "look at how great set dungeons were,"
Interesting they didn't use the D3 logo for that interview either but I think that's more because they're bringing 1 and 2 to show that it's about the whole franchise and not adding more content to the current game >.>
We are an unpleasant community! The most toxic and hostile in all of gaming. Why would anyone want to remain part of the D3 team, or join to be part of the 'unannounced project' when they can see first hand the endless torrent of insults the game devs get from this community. Jay Wilson is STILL copping abuse from a hard core group that just cannot let go of what he 'did' to 'their' beloved franchise.
"Most toxic and hostile in all of gaming" isn't even close to true.
As a random example, when people got banned for cheating in D3 they all posted saying they didn't do anything. When they got banned from Overwatch for cheating, they said it wasn't a big deal that they cheated and were going to sue Blizzard and petition the gov against them and hack them (and did DDoS them) and that it was illegal for Blizz to close their accounts and...
And then there's CS throughout the years, WoW when people played it, LoL, DoTA... those console shooty games, etc.
They also don't choose what to develop based on how nice their customers are.
http://www.ign.com/events/gamescom theres an unannounced title on their schedule guys...heres to hoping its something diablo related. Edit: quin said on stream that there is a diablo showcase tomorrow and he will be livestreaming it
there will be a diablo announcement at BLIZZCON, not at some gamescom.. this is big deal, and big deal is for blizzcon. nough said. be patient and hold your horses.
You do realize that Reaper of Souls was NOT announced at Blizzcon but at Gamescom...there is no rule as to when news is announced...
1st expension to D3 was a certain thing to come. it wasnt a surprise and it wasnt a big deal. it was obvious. apples and oranges man, apples and oranges.
Most, if not all, of Blizzard's game have two expansions...apples and apples my good man, oranges and oranges.
Not using this to argue for or against an expansion, but... Warcraft & Warcraft II I don't know of any. Starcraft had 1, Warcraft III had 1, WoW has had ..6? Starcraft II had 2 (announced on release this would be the case) (also I think it's cool they're still releasing things for it now.)
