Before i go on i want to remind you: if leveling takes 2 or 4 hours is not important compared to what happens after! So just take leveling very fast serious when you have fun in optimizing it! I also feel like preparing the journey management is as important for saving time (Bagstone has done a great table for this which can be found in another thread (sry too lazy for links).
The time really depends on your knowledge about how to level. If you take it slowly and just do rifts it should take 3-4 hours.
Two seasons ago i did it with 2 random people in a 3 man group. It took us 3:40 hours. Until level 20 we followed the drahque guide and then just did rifts and got really bad luck with the -lvl rolls.
The season after this we took it a bit more serious (if you wanna do so to follow drahques ultimate leveling guide, part 1-70 (easy to find in google) and it took us like 2:50 which is fine but not competitive and just saved us an hour. I guess the record still is like 2:19 (10for seasonstart (drahques group, is of course much lower when you often do it and have much luck).
okay this was a bit much blabla short:
So for a 3 men group you should aim something like 3:30 - 4:00 if you are "casual". You can easily do it 1 hour faster by a bit testing and then.
And you can still use the same leveling guides as for the last 2 seasons.
As highqtest mentioned solo is rly the fastest. Desolacer did it already in a testrun in 1:53 h. But this is for the WD which is basically made for massacre boni :D. You could implement some journey parts in the leveling process but some are done automatically, and some are done automatically. But i just meant generally knowing them and testing when you are able to do which journey (damage wise). I will also do some testing in the next days but i think there are people who have already done it. so maybe lets wait for some reliable guys to post here ;D.
all act bounties in it's bonus order. the reason for it is having at least 3 full set of bounty mats for cubing low lvl items, when you hit 70 (you can actually do it before, you just need death breaths which start to drop from lvl 61). you can do these bounties after getting to 70, but might as well combine levelling and mats together.
so with all the added shards (always useful to have full 500 shards at the beginning of the season to target some non-giftset item slots) and possible cubed legendaries, you can jump straight into season journey to get your gifts
and you need full bounty run and cube extract for chapter 3 anyway (second gift part, so 4pc bonus), so might as well it right after dinged to 70.
If you speak of solo the bounties take too much time while leveling imo. Your are slow the paths are long and act 5 monsters are meh.
Wht they do is just do fields of misery over and over and rehost and do some of the bosses needed for items or mb journey.
For the teamgame i also would reccomend doing bounties. You do it anyways for 1 act at level 23ish because of xp sets like cain (which can be done but isnt a must i guess) so doing 3 more acts with 4 people shouldnt take as long.
i was thinking to start the season in the story mode. since leorics crown will now drop at lvl 5, it maybe possilbe to just rush to leoric in 4 man grp, get lvl 5 with quests and some monsters on the way, get crown (i tried this tonight, and we got lvl 7 in 15 mins = crown), then switch to adventure mode, do the bounties in act 1, get rings&amu, start rifts, finish bounties at lvl 21 (?) to get borns or cains
im still wondering if there will be a strategy to combine as many season journey goals WHILE leveling, and then just finish the gifts when you hit lvl 70
edit: first thought to that strategy:
once you hit lvl 70:
1) remake game in T1
2) kill Rakanoth, Izual, Siegebreaker, Cydea, Maghda and Belial
3) Finish the full bounty run, maybe you already got lucky with the bosses, 1 is going for cube
4) safe possible bounties in Key warden zone for the end, kill them as 4 to get at least 1 key for each portal (assuming that 4x 50% = at least 1 key)
5) complete all bounties and get your recipes/designs and get 1st and 2nd gift.
6) remake game in T4
7) and 8) kill all the ubers, leoric and aranae
9) do rift, get grift key, leave game
10) do solo grift 20
(instantly become OP as WD because you already found gargantuan ring & emptiness while leveling)
remake grp at t6 (later higher ofc) and start grinding until you have everything you need for your conquest ranking
Smartphone here... so first. In team by killing kulle, doiing agony lvl 3 you shoul beclvl 7 in about 7 minutes. Ibrecommend sending the dh alone when she has preparation, vault etc. By far thecfastest char to get crown. But this can all be sen in the famous guides also.. ^^. If you want to go t1, like lvl 45ish is mb the right time since u have the lvl h60 weapon. at least we did this last season w our group but itemluck can also play a role there.
One thing bagstone also mentioned (sry for mas quoting him but he is everywhere;) ) is that you should not get the crown 2cearly because of low stats at low level. Meaning something in between 20-30?! I usually getcit at 23 or so.
We had a rub vs a team that did a mistake and didnt get the crown. The difference was quite large. Esecially after lvl 60.
As for the cain and borns set. The bounty is doke split. This takes 5 mins and handing in the bounties also gives xp. Its not that large of a time loss. Ai think the post above me mentioned the worst scenario for the drop.. usually 2 should have one set mb. Just decide on the fly when it is better to change gear because of damage etc. . Well i hope this is not too much semi knowledge from me... gl!
I was wondering if some of the youtubers, Garfmh, rhykker, desolacer, bigdaddy, bludshedd and so on if they are gonna make a lvling guide season 7, if it is best to do some of the chapters, or you should mix it up, and / or getting leorics at lvl 5 (or what lvl you are when you reach it). And so forth.
The videos are really inspiring.
Now for another question, the Headrigs gift, when it says kill cydea og hard (60+) does that meen i have to be 60+ to complete that task and on hard diff? And also the "complete a rift on expert" is that on expert as a minimum or does it have to be on expert?

Again thanks for all the comments!
I think it just means that killing Cydae will be hard. And that you have to reach an expert status on the rift.
well done sir :D. The "hard" ,"expert" is always the minimum level. I think if you do e.g. straight a master rift you automatically get the other achievements. and yes its needs what is written 60+ = higher or 60...
It says in the Season Journey: Defeat Maghda at Master difficulty or higher. Also I didn't see any level requirement along with tasks like that.
Hm, did you check this on PTR? Because I checked this on PTR a week ago and it stated level 60+ for Chapter 2 and level 70+ for Chapter 3 and up. That's why I included the "level 70" in the Season Journey Tracker.
Rerolling is very expensive. I'd recommend to not reroll a weapon more than 3-4 times or your gold will be gone. Rather reroll a new weapon. I always had mats to craft about 6-7 weapons and if 2 or 3 of them have a crowd control secondary affix then reroll each weapon 2-3 times (reroll the other secondary affix!).
Second that. Actually, I'd even go further: if you re-roll too much you might not be able to level up your artisans to 12 once you're 70, delaying your first Haedrig's Gift. And of course stating the obvious: when you're doing massacres you *cannot* get the "level requirement reduced" weapons. You simply don't have the money to even level your Blacksmith high enough, let alone re-roll at the Mystic. This only works if you do rifts in a group.
I agree. Massacre way of leveling is bad in many ways as discussed in various threads now. I plan to do a huge testrun tonight live while looking for a good mix of rifts, bounty and massacres without the need of a new game every couple of minutes. Timer included. If someone is interested I'll post my results when I have them
I was definitely going to use the massacre bonus to level until I started reading how it could slow you down in the end. Now I'm not so sure. I asked Desolacer how do you get enough gold to level all the artisans to level 12. His reply was that all you have to do is a full run of bounties A1-A5 and you will have enough gold.
Its a catch 22 situation. Level really fast via massacre bonus but potentially spend extra time getting all you need after you reach lvl 70 (gold, gear, and so forth). Or level slightly slower and acquire everything you need along the way. Could it even work out to be the same amount of time spent, therefore neither is faster than the other?
So very interested to see your results AtACarnivorus.

I hope Desolacer reads this and corrects this. This is simply not true. I've tested this extensively: Pre-70 bounties yield 275k from all caches (35k per cache from Bonus Cache and 20k from Horadric Cache, or the other way around, don't remember anyone). Post-70 you get 350k (simply 35k gold per cache). The gold from killing monsters and the boss bounties along the way is absolutely negligible. We did many full test runs tracking gold and we have concluded: if you don't do rifting 1-70, you will need either a Gilded Baron while leveling, a Puzzle Ring (to do Vault) once 70, or do about 5 rifts or so when hitting 70 (one T1 rift yields just 100-150k or so). You're simply at least 500k short when hitting 70. In previous seasons no one noticed this because 1) everyone did rifts and 2) you got Haedrig's before you even cared about leveling Jeweler+Mystic.
The optimal youtube video or written "guide" would be:
lvl 1-70 the fastest way season 7.
70+ fastes way to get headrigs, do some of it while lvling, or do this step by step to optimize time, example: 1 kill bosses 2 split bounty 3 cube and so on.
Using the Haedrig's gifts bonus set as guidance... the UE DH is T10 viable as soon as you have the set and T13-ish viable with the rest of the gear (maybe not efficient at those levels yet but you get my point). I'll start out with DH for that reason and use that toon as support to build a WD main.
Leveling a WD for the Helltooth or a Wiz for Tals would mean a slow seasons 7 start for me... and yeah leveling solo is the worst option.
Grab my unicorn and stash space (Guardian co-caine portrait frame? No thanks) and then go push into the nonseason leaderboards or maybe go play Power Over Ethernet or maybe Legions. Hmmmmm..

Very nice summary, I have also been testing the same theory so that I can actually do T1 instantly at lvl 70.
My process is very similar, except right off the bat at level 1 I do this "Kill boss on master for starter yellows, then do full chain of bounties on hard which allows 3 crafting mats and completes the 25 bounty requirement for the Gift and Season Journey."
After doing all bounties I complete the chain you listed above, except I was unaware of the 100% golden chest in A5 so THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR THAT!!!
When all is said and done, my first run has me around lvl 30-35 before I reload a new game, and I was hitting lvl 70 at around 4 hours which is nice to see that we align with that.
*After thinking about this though, bounties early are not as beneficial as they could/should be because if you wait and do them on T1 at lvl 70, you get the crafting recipes needed to also complete another chain of the Journey, so I feel it is actually best then to ignore bounties (aside from chests and easier bounties) through the entire leveling process.

idk about you, but I can do GR60 without any support items and yellows fairly easily with HT WD, so not sure why WD is considered a slow start in your mind.
Care to elaborate? Maybe I can help with something
does anyone have the exact numbers how much gold it costs to level all 3 artisans to 12?
I did some test runs 1-70 solo wd by xp-chains in FoM. 2-2:30 h and now i want to test how much time i need to get the gold via rifts or bounties but i need the values :D. For first headrigs gift. thx in advance.

You are "preaching to the choir" here, but let's just say for me personally the UE DH wins out this time to get my stash tab ASAP.
My point as far as the discussion goes is just that folks might want to consider the free set to determine which class to level along with the absolute fastest class they can level up to 70. For many people the clear winner will be HT WD... for me it's UE DH. Hello all,
First of all, are there anything that have changed from season 6, regards leveling method?
And me and my friends, are only 3 man in the start, should we just go for the rift "leveling type?
And what are the approx time when you are 3 ppl?
Thanks a lot guys!

Correct me if anything is wrong ^^.
Hello,
And thanks for your quick answer.
So you do a complete act 1-5 bounties?
Or just the act 1 bounty for cains or borns?
Speckroellchen, so you would go and do more "headrigs gift" lvling way?
Nice that i can use the past seasons strategy.
