Hey Venator, Yes Jay said Minimum 61, but the power point Blizzard presented said Maximum. In fact there have been a lot of official Blizzard reports of the Maximum being 61. It's a conflict of information (unless of course every monster is 61, then the min and max are 61) which is why I made that thread in the Official D3 forums that Bashiok responded to.
You should have used the word minimum when you asked the question, then you could have gotten a different answer from Bashiok.
When you ask the right question, you'll get the right answer.
Like in any job situation, I don't think anyone would be stupid enough to misinform their boss that all the monsters are at least at minimum level of 61, then make a slide presentation contradicting this. A boss is always informed of anything & everything happening about a project he handles, in this case, THE GAME DIRECTOR. I don't think the person who made that slide presentation would be that dumb to embarrass the Game Director of Diablo III on a national level around the world.
So once again, Bashiok is not the game programmer nor the boss. If you must, then why not make another thread again on the official Blizzard forum & this time have Bashiok confirm these from 3 sources, namely Jay W., Josh M. & Leonard B., what will be the official answer to the question: "Will all monsters be at the MINIMUM level of 61 in Inferno, and does this include the Possessed, Frenzied, Fanatics & Champions?
If so, does that mean that mini-bosses & the main bosses would either have more HP or higher levels than these monsters?
Will this be the case upon the release of the game?"
Ok, I love j, and he is great, but he isn't the greatest public speaker. This isnt the first time in the midst of a presentation jw has gotten flustered and mispoke. Now as has been pointed out previously, there is a load of difference between a lvl 61 fallen and a 61 lord of hell
