Hello Everyone I am Thrasher on the NA HC scene. I have always played video games legitimately and today at 4:27 p.m blizzard banned my Diablo 3 account for the use of 3rd party programs specifically botting ( according to the email ) I have never used any cheats for any video game in my life because it feels better to do things the correct way without cheating. I am trying to appeal it but just a heads up for the other players that I guess blizzard is now banning accounts that have never botted before which makes 0 sense but I guess shit happens when they spam search for cheaters since not many play legit anymore...
No I have never used a 3rd party program or bot in my life of playing games because it has a chance to get your account closed. I have no reason to risk eveyrthing i work for just for a few moments of extra success thats just pointless.. Here is the wording.
"Account Action: Account Closure
Offense: Use of Third-Party Automation Software (also known as bots)
This account was closed for use of unauthorized cheat programs, also known as bots. These programs provide character benefits not normally achievable in the game and detract from the integrity of the game environment."
@Everyone saying "go to the official forums": When your game license is banned, you also receive a temporary ban (usually 2 days from what I've heard, maybe longer now) for the official forums. Probably to prevent those kind of threads over there.
@Those getting banned: What people probably mean to say with "go to Blizzard" is not to post on their forums (which of course you can't and also won't do anything good, quite the opposite) but rather appeal, write a ticket. However, as people pointed out, it seems like no D3 ban has been revoked for years now. Those ongoing banwaves are not limited to D3 - they carry out banwaves across all Blizzard games currently - however, D3 is the only game where "false positives" don't seem to be acknowledged. For most other Blizzard games I've seen Twitter posts or blue posts acknowledging the possibility of false positives and asking those to file a ticket. For D3, this seems to just result in the default response.
The email always looks the same, it says "bots", even though at this point the number of people who make a believable case for never using bot software and getting bans went through the roof. But since Blizzard's EULA allows them to ban you even without reason they won't update that email to be more specific, also to prevent counter measures of 3rd party tool developers. That being said, the intransparency pendulum has swung too much into one direction for me personally.
@OP, and others who identify themselves as "false positives": May we get some details on your playing behavior? I'm most interested in paragon level (gives us an estimate for how much you played) and leaderboard rankings (as the banwaves seem to be very much focused on people who got ranked).
I was about to be 1100 para in HC top 50 on a few leaderboards but yea false positive for me, I've played every season hit around 1k para if I was lucky because of life can't grind the game 24 hours a day... Its not hard to believe myself and others are being banned when they are real players with how many damn scans blizzard is doing there is obviously a fuck up somewhere and actual players are getting hit for it
