So today I purchased Razer BlackWidow Ultimate and replaced my old Steelseries 7G. If you are wondering why I did that - I am a keyboard maniac - I am collecting them, comparing them etc. Nothing rational. Another reason is I like Cherry Blues better.
So to compare those:
I like typing on RBW better, that clicky feedback is just nice, also you need less effort to push keys on RBW than on S7G.
Regarding the build quality and durability, I'd say Steelseries 7G is more durable than RBW. So if you are a rager and want to smash your keyboard, pick S7G over the RBW.
About design - Steelseries has functional one, RBW has nice, glossy.
Currently I will stay with the RBW as I really like the typing sound of it. The price is a bit high when you compare it to a standard edition (which is not backlit) but if you are a hardcore gamer a want to feel nice while playing, you might want to spend those extra money.
Yeah, apparently i commented on this thread back in august. I'm still loving my Razer Blackwidow Ultimate. I heard some people dont like the clickiness of the keys, but i think it's the kind of thing you either love or hate. It's still holding up great, and ahhhh, the clicks are still not old, and still so crispy and nice sounding.
Just take a screwdriver and pop the windows key off. Problem solved, money saved. I used to have to do this all the time in WC3 and Dota.
It might not look pretty but it works.
Knock over drink of choice. Buy new keyboard.
:-p
I spilled a full glass of bourbon/coke on my Logitech Elite Keyboard. Took the entire thing apart, cleaned it, soaked the plastics in soapy water, and put it back together. Took me a few hours, but my favorite keyboard now works even better than before (clean finally yay!). This keyboard is so basic yet it fits my needs perfectly and I have been using it for 7 years now.

With regard to a mouse... I might upgrade from my Logitech MX510. While it fits my needs (and my hand) quite perfectly, I would enjoy having a few more macro buttons. Razer just came out with this bad boy recently: http://store.razerzone.com/store/razerusa/en_US/pd/productID.244052300/categoryId.35208800
