I am currently figuring out the specs for my next gaming PC designed specifically for Diablo 3. I purchased two 30in 2560x1600 monitors. Now I all need is to get a excellent keyboard and mouse. I decided that I want the steelseries Diablo 3 mouse. It has up to 5,000CPI, 7 programmable buttons that allow for macros, and it looks awesome(see link below). That leaves the keyboard. I feel a little lost and need some help.
What is the best gaming keyboard for Diablo 3? Help me out Diablo fans.
I'll stick with my programmable Logitech G15 Keyboard and MX518 Mouse. It's been like 5 years and nothing has come close to the comfort I have with this hardware.
Edit: a mouse and keyboard is something you need to test out your self every gamer has his/her fav style of keyboard but you,ll be far better off going to a shop and acctualy testing it out, bigger shops with display modles is the best place to start, Try some of your RL friends k/bs and see how they go get a rough idea on style and go from there.

youre in luck, cuz MX518 mouses are known for their laser dieing problems (mine died in 2-3 months), otherwise its a really great mouse
about keyboards well if theres any d3 keyboard u would probably want it, otherwise check for gaming made keyboards
The only issue I've has with a MX518 is that the little rubber pads on the bottom wear off and the mouse wheel can get goofy if you beat the hell out of it, but even that takes like a solid year of abuse. Easily more durable then anything else I've owned.
What about the steelseries shift with the MMO Keyset? I know that is not mechanical, but it uses a "special rubber." It has some decent reviews, but I hate buying a keyboard that cost that much without being sure.
Yes, the other screen I use for other things. Example: When the PGA Championship is on this week, the left monitor will be used for gaming, the right monitor will be on Tiger Woods winning another major. I actually have 2 other monitors that are both 24in. One of those will have my system perf, and the other will have my RSS feed.
Honestly for a keyboard, it will have 0 effect on you. this isn't an MMo where you need macros and quick access. Honestly just go for Comfort, and durability, I have a BlackWidow Ultimate, It is mechanical will last me years and is as comfortable as a pillow. I love it, My only prob is no different color lights otherwise it'd be Red right now Also again with mice you don't really need one that is flashy only if you really want one.. I use a Nage epic, cause of the changing lights and i like the extra buttons in case i ever need, Like in Sc2 when i make control groups it is about five hundred percent easier to just use the mouse, and keep my hand on the standard keys for making units and whatnot. For Warcraft it would allow me to have all my keys readily accessible without ever having to move off of WASD.
ALSO with the monitors you might have trouble running it in NVidia surround/Eyefinity. SC2 doesn't have it but that is due to a competitive feature rather than a feature they decided to leave out. Warcraft has it though, so idk. But i Do know this, ITS SO AWESOME I ENVY YOU SO MUCH . Lol when i can I'm buying three Dell 27 inchers. Only because 16:9 is better than 16:10.

Not even Death will save you from Diablo Bunny's Cuteness!
Recently bought a Razer Blackwidow and absolutely love it compared to my Logitech G15. Mechanical keyboards are definitely the way to go nowadays.
I bought a Blackwidow (Ultimate) recently too and I know they are looked down upon by some in the mechanical keyboard circle, but I've been extremely pleased. Gorgeous keyboard and I haven't had any build problems that some have reported. I hate coming in to work and using this crummy membrane keyboard.
I'd use any old keyboard you can buy at Walmart for $5. Honestly, I don't see the point of getting a "really good" keyboard. Sure, if you're playing an MMO then the macro keys are pretty nice, but they won't be beneficial at all for Diablo 3. The only reason to get an expensive keyboard is for the pretty lights. I recently blew about 1300 on a new computer, and the cheapest part was my $15 dollar keyboard which I saw no need to pay more for.
My place really was here. I was too foolish and stubborn to notice. But, what I truly hoped for then was here. Why do I always realize it When I've already lost it.
I use the Razer Blackwidow Ultimate and absolutely love it. LEDs and all, it's by far the best keyboard i've owned. Feels great, has plenty of customizability, is mechanical, and is quite shiny.
Yeah, i was gonna get the steelseries mechanical keyboards but TBH their design looked a bit bland and uninspired. I like stuff around my computer area to look cool and be functional, so the Razer Blackwidow Ultimate was a splendid choice. I give it 5 stars (out of 5)

I totaly agree with you, i got one myself. It really is the best keyboard i ever owned.
I vote for the das mind you I tried black and blue keys and could not stand it. The blackwidow blue keys are way to loud it would drive my poor wife completely mad and there are reports of poor quality control.
Brown is the best of both worlds in my opinion. I can't stand mush keyboards but if you really wanted one I suppose the G15 might be ok.
So get:
Das keyboard
leopold keyboards
Filco keyboards
Steelseries
Right now I got a g15. Ive had it for years. Dont remember when I bought it; a very long time ago. Its pretty durable spilt all kinds things on it etc.
I got a g700 mouse too.
Personally I wish I didnt drop so much on a keyboard, or get one of those thats contoured for ergonomics. None of the extra stuff really matters when you boil it down.
I do like my mice having extra buttons to program though.
Also, on the computer upgrade. Me personally, I wouldnt upgrade anything until you see how diablo 3 actually runs on your comp, or at least until a release date is set.
No sense shortchanging yourself or spending extra money doing it now for the game not to come out till after Xmas. If it took that long, can easily build a better comp for same price or same one for less.
I plan on getting a new vid card to play Battlefield 3 because mine is like a 4850. If it runs ok on it though, hell i might keep it too until d3 comes out and see how it runs then.

Do yourself a favour and get yourself a proper mechanical keyboard. Filco, SS, Zowie etc. You won't need to buy a new keyboard for 10 years
Ha yea, brainfart. Definitely just waking up

Would the MMO Keyset be an advantage in Diablo 3?

Cheap, super reliable, and very comfortable.
100% if you are cheap though, you can go flashy if you wan't but it isn't a necessity.
As far as a mouse goes, I use a 5 button Dell optical mouse, nothing special.
