So, I've spent about half of today reading the write-ups all of the internet about the press event and comments on them.
I just have to say that to all of the people saying negative things about the game. How the Real money AH, the online requirement, the change in the skill/rune/passive skill system will ruin the game. And I'd just like to say that I don't give a rat's ass about any of those things. To be entirely honest, I played almost exclusively offline only playing with others over lan. And all of these changes don't change the fact that I'm going to purchase the game and love every second of playing it. I should just stop reading all of those comments, the just end up annoying me and getting me riled up.

My place really was here. I was too foolish and stubborn to notice. But, what I truly hoped for then was here. Why do I always realize it When I've already lost it.
I agree with you totally, I will play with my friends online like I always did and then I will farm solo when they can't get on. It wont change a lot for me either, I will pvp a little but that is not what the game is about it is about pwning the minions of hell!
You have the sweetest avatar ever so I am obliged to agree with everything that you say.
Izual ftw. Even if he is one of the easiest mini-bosses in the game. I just remember destroying him on my necro. My mages slowed him with frost and I used decripify on him, top that with one of the slowest attack in the game and I could usually kill him before he got 5 swings off. But that doesn't stop him from being badass.

Thanks for sharing this, I'm happy that you actually enjoy playing single player, and regardless of whatever happens nothing of this affects you.
Unfortunately, 90% of the diablo fanbase play online and are affected by all of this. So yeah, since this has nothing to do with, maybe you should stop reading comments, and avoid getting riled up.
Btw, D3 doesn't have LAN anymore, so it does affect you.
Get real, folks, the diablo you all knew is dead, a few years ago i said right here in this forum that D3 had a pretty good chance of being blizzard first bust (i was flamed to death ofc), and what you know, its not even beta and its already looking that way.

.
Well. Not really. lol
I mean, I understand what you're trying to say, but it will be about the same for me. The only reason I didn't go through battle.net was because.. I didn't have to. My friends would come over and we'd play that way, but now that some of them have moved too far away for easy LAN access, I was going to switch over to Bnet anyway. Plus I think that I will really like the new Bnet system if it's anything like the Starcraft 2 one.

Reading everyone's responses to the changes is definitely a buzzkill. Especially when its more whining than constructive critism.

Fortunately the 90% of the diablo fanbase that has been 'affected' by recent reveals will soon start to realise it is all going to affect them positively
Same as me OP, no matter what - playing online with these superior / needed features and changes is going to be the best gaming experience no matter what
I agree! I personally think blizzard knows what they are doing and every change and new idea so far seems very well thought out and I for one think their all fantastic ideas. People just love to complain and nitpick it seems. Yet their all unfounded complaints and usually have no actual good reason as to why they should be complaining about it.
Oh I don't like the real money AH system.. Why? Oh because... Uhmmm.... People will spend money on the items in the game? A derp... People do this regardless the only difference now is that the people with private dupe methods and the knowledge to create their own website/service aren't going to completely run that part of the economy. Blizzard is putting this in EVERYONES hands and I for one say ABOUT TIME!

LoL, 90% huh? I'm just gonna hang out and wait for your polling data(cause I'm sure you've got it somewhere).
OP, totally agree all this knee jerk emo rage is fun to read, but after awhile gets a bit boring, the new changes will take a bit to get used to but it'll be worth it.

Here's another interesting made-up statistic: 95% of the people that say this has ruined the game and they won't buy it are, in fact, going to buy it. Of those, I expect the vast majority will realize they were being big, blubbery vaginas about the changes and that the game is incredibly deep, fun, and rewarding.
I saw someone post on the battle.net forums that he was initially /rage about the changes but that he took a break from the interweb, thought about things, and has come around. He's now really excited about the game again. More people should do that instead of letting their "gg blizz" attitude overshadow their rational brains.
This kind of backlash always happens to some extent, obviously big changes and people are still digesting it. In the first read-through of it all I felt pretty upset, but then I read the dev justifications and basically tried to imagine the D3 we'll be getting now and it all simply made sense to me, I understand what they're doing and I think they're making really brave decisions--they know their fanbase and they knew how this would go over. I think they also know that the beta is coming very Soon(TM) and that once people get their hands on it they'll be able to actually feel how it plays out and it'll set many people at ease.

I think the hardest thing to read out of all of the "criticism" is people judging a product they have not even tried. They take everything at face value and make a judgement on the entire product without looking at the whole picture. Any one thing may seem bad if you do not balance it out with the numerous other systems that help balance it.
Thanks for the refreshing thread and I too, can't wait to play this game in all of its glory.

This game is going to rock regardless, and I think it will turn out less-horrible than people are imagining.
I have no doubt that the game will rock, and that I will love playing it. But the skill changes make me wonder if I will play it for years and years, the way Diablo 2 lasted.
I think the skill changes is awesome, as it fixes point hoarding, ballance issues and everything along those lines. But it also kills the need to make a new character o the same class. Which I guess, is ok. I'll level up 10 characters and be happy. If the META game of building an Ecurrency is fun, and the META game of finding every possible level 7 rune is fun. The game may very well last a LONG time.

Hilarious that you call for civility right after calling someone's opinion selfish. Hypocrisy in action.
I fail to see how that distinction makes your comment somehow fall under the umbrella of civil.
