They are completely ruining the Diablo series in my opinion. Real Money Auction House, Skill Point as I understand it removed (correct me if I am misled regarding this), Forced online play. Absolutely pathetic.
This was my most anticipated game of the year. I am no longer going to buy this game or support Blizzard in any future endeavors. That's how much I hate the real money auction house.

I agree with you on everything except for the forced online play. I have no clue how much of the D2 population actually did offline mode only. People could just make a password enabled game (if game creation works like D2) to bypass that. But then again it defeats the purpose of not needing internet. The only thing I agree with, which I don't think was from the new news, was the auto stat allocation. The auction house was a good idea, because in D2 gold became completely useless. But sadly they added the currency one...awesome. RIP D3
What is the big deal surrounding the auction house? There is still an in-game currency auction house from my understanding. If you can't stand it, use the in-game auction house - like myself and many others will be doing.
It's better than all of the 3rd party websites that sell D2 items moving into D3.
Not entirely, there are some things I could have dealt with, like real $$ ah but the skill point bit really hurts. Im just shocked, hopefully buried under all that crap there's a good game.

The reason I say forced online play is a bad idea and the nail in the coffin for me buying this game is what happens if internet service drops for extended periods of time or if you're traveling and don't have internet? Then you're screwed. Horrible choice in my opinion.
The auction house Real Money debate is absolutely stupid. Either way if they implemented it or not people were still going to be buying items from 3rd party sites and then that creates an entire problem for Blizzard when people complain about being hacked or losing their money. This way the small fee that goes into Blizzard helps pay for future updates and the safety from 3rd party sites keeps players from complaining.
The skills are fine you still have to choose which skills you will actually use and not to mention there are still runes involved in the game which keep everyone from being exactly alike. It's not like in D2 everyone was running around playing melee sorcs or melee necros... Everyone was either Lightning, Meteorb, or Blizzard or Summoner, Bone. There was almost no difference.
Some people just read the changes and automatically had the wrong ideas pop into their minds and this is the problem. If you look at the BIG PICTURE you can see that the changes are not bad at all. Just like when people complained about the stats changes.
"OH NO I cant put my 75 points into dex and rest into vitality on every single character besides ES Sorcsthe game is ruined" Really it sounds silly when you look at it now...
The only thing I will agree with is the forced internet... But how many other games rely on forced internet and they aren't dead?

Why is that Blizzard's problem, and why should we care? That's the risk you take when you cheat. I'm pissed now that CHEATING, and that's exactly what it is, is now legal.
I'm agreeing with Jakachan here to be honest. Have everyone forgotten the website spammers etc in D2 already? Unless it was a password protected game, they popped up all the time.
The only thing that's dissapointing is the internet requirement. Then again, if it reduces the amount of cheats and such, I can live with it.

This is the argument I don't completely understand. It's not that we should care it's that either way people will still buy gear with money through 3rd parties so the only real way for Blizzard to combat this is to bring the gear selling market into their own hands.

No, the way to combat them is to ban them.
I don't care what the medium is, using real money to buy your way to winning is cheating.
I can definitely say, "Yay!" However, there comes a point where Blizzard is going to just have to make solid decisions and go with certain things. I know it's so so close to being released, but it seems like they're in a never ending spiral of development where a change in one system spirals down into another and so on. "Well, we changed the skill/trait system, which really got us thinking of ways to refine and update the rune system." I don't want them to rush the game to release (ha!), but there has to be a point of finality sometime.
You can't ban every single Farmer/Seller... Look at real world issues.. You don't see the Government able to close down every single illegal site on the internet, because there is one problem. With the amount of people who are able to access this game including farmers it would be impossible to catch absolutely every single one of them. Not to mention I'm sure there are loopholes that can keep Blizzard from declaring a site to be closed down from item selling.

No. Blizzard's brilliant idea will make gold completely worthless again. Do you really think that if some1 finds a rare as fuck epic weapon he would put it on the gold AH rather than make some good cash on the real AH.
Uh... Wait lets recap here for a second. We have waited for how long? 10 years or so? Everything was going well, felt like Diablo, the anticipation was almost unbearable... Then Blizzard decides to walk up and basically say "Everything you have ever known about this game or previous games will be completely changed, the only thing that will probably stay is the lore. Goodnight."
Um, yea I think this sort of changed deserved a more prior heads up for opinion, instead of just tossing it out there like it's nobodies fuckin' business.
will blizz be selling items on ah only for money to give revenue and balancing variables?
If so will they limit it to stop the overflow of item storage?

Not even the lore is sacred anymore, man... Blizz just retcons whatever old lore isn't convenient. It's so annoying.

Blizz will NOT sell items, this is 100% player driven. They will not limit anything. Also, in addition, I feel I should add that Hardcore players CANNOT ACCESS THE PAID ITEM STORE IN ANY WAY! The regular gold AH will still work, however.

Gold will have usese since you need it for crafting, repairs and vendors regardless of whether you use the cash AH. And since gold can also be sold for cash, gold will in fact not be useless, it will be a regularly traded commodity.
PlugY for Diablo II allows you to reset skills and stats, transfer items between characters in singleplayer, obtain all ladder runewords and do all Uberquests while offline. It is the only way to do all of the above. Please use it.
Supporting big shoulderpads and flashy armor since 2004.
