Just watching the boss fight from the release video and it reminded me of my guild killing thunderan for our tanks sword. That was an epic quest that was awesome 2 finish as a group. I like the idea of a huge long quest that you need help from online players 2 complete that you just cant knock over in a few mins that rewards you with an awesome peice of loot.
on a side note, Id kinda like the idea of area resets like in wow that u could do in small parties kinda like instances. to relate it to diablo... maybe you could only enter the cow level once a week. This really was a way rather than countless hours farming, that you could kill better monsters with better loot drops less often and still keep up with those grinders. :).
anyway whatcha think about the item quest idea like in wow. I really enjoyed that aspect earily on in the wow era.
i would love item quests as a whole, but i would hate for it to be a powerful item as it would flood the market with it. as for having area resets, it really doesn't fit with the diablo franchise and i don't really like it. it doesn't fit into the hack n' slash type of game.
i didn't think of it being BoE or BoP as there isn't any in the game as of now...but still, i wouldn't want it to be powerful item as it would take away the need for farming, which i love to do
well the cow lvl was ment 2 be a one off because once you complete it and kill the king, you couldnt open it again. i kinda like that idea but have it reset once a week. so i cant just run the same dungeon 1000 times. it forces you to do different ones.
Regarding cowlevel and weekly dungeons; the problem was that cowlevel wasn't balanced. There was no alternative, that was the real problem.
What I'd like to see (still balanced) is maybe a day/night cyclus, with dungeons only appearing at certain times. That'd be kinda cool too. Like some sort of Moon of the Spider dungeon temple that only shows its entrance at midnight.
the cow level was what i was referring too, because a person could just go and farm until they got good stuff then sell it every week and get the gold for it creating a huge income source
ive said this before,
there are going to be multiple places for level 55-60 to go kill things for loot, so it wont just be cow / baal runs until the cows come home
It can happen. There is still tons to reveal yet and blizz knows how to add content. The only thing is that it isn't one giant open world like WoW so 'getting' to an instance would be weird. The quests will be there but they are for the artisians and stuff like that. I think Diablo will be kept separate from WoW on this angle, it isn't that type of game, Diablo has always been about grinding for the drops

Sometimes you don't always know where you stand... until you know that you won't run away.
ive posted this in place before, but I think a BIG part of what will keep players from spam running end bosses will be quest rewards.. more specifically, random quest rewards. The "pockets of randomness that we have heard and read about have a HUGE potential for being game changing in every aspect. Think of the random "event" that can occur in our "pocket" like an item. When you load an area, that "pocket" does a roll. If you think of quests/events like items, than what is to say the rewards won't be awesome? There may be the equivalent to "legendary" quests that have a very low chance to roll up in certain areas on Hell. These random pockets are (could be) a huge part of end game.
