For now, not knowing more about the Demon Hunter's resource system is a bit of a turnoff. Plus I thought that was going to be the class that everyone wanted to play, so I didn't want to go all mainstream.
What would be interesting is somewhere down the road we can see some chart that actually shows the number of each character class created on battlenet, and their average level played, etc etc.
I'll probably play the monk last. I prefer to strategically and deliberately select my next moves, so the slower speed and awesome crushfaceexplodiness of the barb is my first pick, while faster fighters never really catch my attention, and most spellcasters have that good heavy decision making involved as well.

I'm sure this won't be available in Battle.net, but statistics will crop up eventually if you look hard enough. I know for SC2, there were moments when the developers would reveal some of the percentages of the three races which I always found informative.
Well if it holds that classes like the WD and the DH aren't being played as much you can bet that this will be taken into account during beta and most likely those classes will get some sort of love.
It's also hard to know just what we will end up playing given how little we know about spells and such. At Blizzcon 2008 going into the demo I knew for a fact I would love the Barb the most given that I always favor a strong melee archetype. On my second playthrough I decided to try the WD and man did he kick some serious butt. I then gave the Wizard a spin and she was much more fun than I had thought. I guess point being that they have put some serious kick-assery into these characters and impressions from the sidelines are vastly different to when you finally can get your hands on them and see how visceral the spells feel.
I'm going to have to go with Barb. Short answer is I've always favored speed and technique as apposed to a larger lumbering character. Well.... that and I'm 120-130lb on a good day so, I can identify with a leaner faster character.
I'm surprised (at this time) to see Demon Hunter to be the leader. I wonder if it's related to the very little info we have on her.
Just as my own little question: Does anyone else pick who or what you play based on ability to identify with the character? I find this to me an under lining concept to RPG's.
I was thinking about the five classes in D3 and wondering about which will be the least appealing to me and so the last to try out.
The least intriguing to me are barbarians, they feel too much "melee" to me and I'm not a "melee" player. I'm more in summons and/or magic.
Even in D2 the barbarian was the class that less suited me.
So, mine is the barbarian, what about yours?
For me, it's nothing to do with being the "least intriguing", I want to play them all with the same amount of enthusiasm/excitment, as a player I never really had got 'seperated' between Melee vs Ranged/Caster, so play styles also dont factor into it. I will probably be playing Demon Hunter last, but only because she has drawn the short straw, so to speak.
I see now DH has the lead (so to speak).
As stated above this may be due to the fact that we know less about this class than the others.
Again, female DH will be my second pick.
I noticed at the moment monk and wizard got much less votes than the others and was wondering about that too.
Should check on the "what will you play first" and make some comparison.
But to be honest it is in every RPG and I don't care for it. It just seems to my like a lot of boring skill spamming. (I may be completely wrong)
I would much rather play the WD, or Monk.
Monk because of the tactics involved and WD because it reminds me of my lock in WoW. (Sorry to bring it up :/ , but it was needed to explain my WD decision.)
Additionally, I enjoy micromanaging my pet if I am allowed to, it adds a whole new level of skill to the game in my opinion.
yea, if you think that's bad, Kerrigan from Starcraft has heels too, in Zerg form...
I picked barbarian, in most games the big brute just doesn't appeal to me.. its just too.. plain as well as being too brutish.
For some reason I always pick the summoner (I guess my laziness is showing?), in Wow (for a bit) I mained a warcraft and though I will probably end up with all the classes (maybe not barb :P) so I might start with WD then move on from there.
Though I always wanted a magical fighter class.. something not many games have. something quick, sorta like the monk but with a sword yet also adept at magic, either as enhancements (enhanced speed, agility, strength etc) or even modifications or alterations - invis (just saying), teleportation, extreme speed or whatever else you can think of, or even full on magic for tight spots like an an AoE when surrounded, some sort of attack or detonation to help in a pinch of even a range fire/ice/lightning/arcane/whatever bolt to attack from a range.

I agree with feminism. I don't think that it's right that for every dollar a man makes, a women gets 70 cents. Why do I only get 30 cents and some chick gets the rest?
My last class will be the barb. I've played a barb and it was not my cup of tea before so it will be the last one on my list. The other classes are generally interesting, or at least new enough to merit an earlier spot.
The last character I will play however will be the Male DH. during the Curse(d) downtime, I looked at several Screenshots closely again and realized that the male DH was hard to interpret visually. Sometimes I can't even tell which direction he is facing or where his arms/weapons are! No other character had this problem so he gets last seat overall, despite his counterpart being my second character.

If that made sense to you, Bravo! I think I even confused myself...
Monk for me, dead last and if its anything like the assn in d2 never,I cant even explain it weather its the combo piont kinda class or just that its one of those classes every one abuses in pvp like the assasins, rouges , witch hunters,
its also the dead opisite of my fav play style (caster) probly making it the wizards worse enemy
Cheers

Monk > Wizard > Barbarian > Demon Hunter > Witch Doctor
Monk > Wizard > Barbarian > Demon Hunter > Witch Doctor
barb > monk > DH > wizard > WD
if i ever get around to actually playing all the classes...ah who am i kidding, its DIABLO!
@Upgradez I could've faceplanted on the keyboard and still killed everything in act 1.

I really, REALLY hate the Monk mechanics, looks so boring and flashy. Hate the combo system.

As the last to play whe have DH 1st and barbarian 2nd....seems to me this two classes stir up the strongest reactions.
