I'm gonna ask Bashion on Twitter about such monsters - cross fingers he is gonna answer, guys!
Well they've stated in the past that they were unlikely to use full immunities in the game (possibly even confirmed they were out? I can't remember). Resistances are still a possibility if I remember right. I can try to find the source for this but I make no guarantees on that :D.
Edit: this link is the best I've found so far, and in that thread they mention that at one of the Blizzcons they stated that they didn't like immunities.
Jay Wilson: Well, the main reason for immunities in the game was to encourage party play. However, we have seen that some players just want to play by themselves? And that is fine, if a player wants to play single player, the player wants to play single player, we're not going to strong arm them into playing with others. Keeping this in mind, we aren't looking to have full immunities or anything of the sort; however we are considering keeping one-element immunities on enemies. Because of the way our skill system works it's almost impossible to build a character that won't have some alternate skill to attack an enemy. So then it becomes an interesting use of a skill or skills that you may not be using all the time. We think that's interesting and fun gameplay, to have to adapt to situations. The adaptation just shouldn't be realizing your character or class is broken and you have to run away or you need to get in a multiplayer game. Those are things we intend to avoid forcing the player into.

So the new health orbs seem to have some type of bleeding effect on them after looking at the new screenshots and the old ones. They lose effectiveness after a certain duration?
Man my 'ragequit this forum' counter is increasing every day.
An update on the Website does not mean that we're closing to D3. No common sense is needed for that. The SC2 website is still inaccurate and the games' been live for over a month.

To me, updates on the D3 site means features that are done with and are not still being debated on to be put through yet another reiteration process. So ya, common sense would indicate that if such features are complete, we are closing on the actual completion of the game.
Now if we could be done with all the menstruation around my single post, I would be glad because we are running out of tampons here.
You can't justify health globes being something realistic in the game world, health potions are more believable but still pretty far fetched. It's just something we have to deal with.

How is a health potion more realistic/believable than a health globe? (Honest question btw)
This basically sets this health system in place. By putting it out there on the official websites they're trying to say this is a finished mechanic and here's how its going to work. That just basically tells the people that they are one mechanic closer to finishing the game :D. Other than that its an okay mechanic I mean it takes away the easy way out which is good, Its useful, they've implemented ways to make sure its not too hard so overall its good.

Not even Death will save you from Diablo Bunny's Cuteness!
Things in real life, in liquid form can re-energize you and make you healthier? A real life example would be like energy drinks, vitamin waters, etc.
Steroids in a can.
Actually they can not heal wounds or make you more healthy.
Most energy drinks just use extreme amounts of caffeine or sugar. Which is unhealthy. So are steroids.
Though when being realistic you can't drink as much as the heroes did in D2. You would die.
I thought what he meant was that a potion is more fantasy-accurate (and thus believable or "realistic" within the context of the game) than an ambiguous glowing ball of nothing crapping out of monsters and making your health go up. I can understand that. You will find far more accounts of magical elixirs and potions aiding heroes across cultural mythology and even fantasy (and DnD-rooted) games than you will neon red balls of healing energy appearing mysteriously.
Of course, he wasn't analyzing the nitty-gritty like you were there; he was only offering some examples of real-life liquids that come in a "bottle" of some sort and have a promised positive effect. And, to add to your last comment, Sanctuary would also be aflood with glass bottles. Everywhere.
It's just a game mechanic, it doesn't need to be explained. Of course, because of what we've come to expect from the series as far as game mechanics (I.E., the Horadric Cube), it would definitely be better if it was more explainable, but it doesn't have to be. It just is. Which was the initial point, methinks.
I love it when orbs just appear from peoples body's, after I slay them of course. You know, long lines at the bank, crying babies, those who aren't the same color as me. It makes way more sense to just simply run into them and absorb their floating blood essence. Energy drinks are bad for you. Yucky.
I enjoy the orb idea. They look fine.
