To me, there is no point in discussing that the skill tree looks similar to the companies other game, especially since said tree is no longer in the game.

.... And the WoW skill tree, looks like every other skill tree in any other RPG game.
Yeah now.. Cuz everybody is ripping off of WoW's skilltree. But I believe Wow was pretty much the first game with that kind of skilltree.. I might be wrong tho, not sure.. But all I know is Ive played alot of rpg games before WoW came out and I never really saw a tree like it.

I find it funny that when WoW was being released people commented on how similar the talent tree was to the skill tree in Diablo II and now people are commenting that the Diablo III tree may be too similar to WoW.

Wow's skill tree is very similar to D2's... They just changed a few technical things and added some stuff. In D3 they wanted to have trees and change + add stuff but now its just some other system.
I think it is very similar, but can't we just admit that the skill tree alone is not going to make this game play like an MMO? I only care how the game turns out and if they have to take a few features from WOW that they've learned over the
years to add diversity, replay value and to fix the economy; then so be it.
Don't you remember how broken Diablo 2 was? Almost everything about it had a flaw, especially the Skill Trees. Change is a good thing, I dont want a repeat of Diablo 2's flaws. And Blizzard isn't going to want another MMO or anything to even come close. They want a Real Time Strategy, an Action RPG, and a Massively Multiplayer Online RPG title each to their own.
ps. how can I make it so that the vid shows here in my post so you don't have to click teh link?
You just need to take the last bit of the address("v9j0qjg4OMo" in this case) and put it between [ YOUTUBE] and [/YOUTUBE ](without the extra space I added so it'd show) using the youtube button to the upper right of the text box.
It should then show up as :
As for the topic, I don't really care how they decide to display the skills list. The way shown in the pictures is fine for me. I haven't played WoW, but Diablo 2 and Titan Quest(along with other games I can't think of at the moment) both used very similar displays.
Since I've never played WoW, I really don't consider it good or bad when someone points out a similar feature. I really just care if I think the feature would work well in a game like Diablo 2 or Titan Quest. I guess I just don't share the same hatred as many hold for WoW. I just don't bother with it because it's and MMO and has monthly fees, both of which put me off from it. People I know that have played it seemed perfectly happy with it though. Anyway, I'm getting off topic again.
now this pic is a screen shot from D3(the D3 skill tree and inv)

That is like comparing action game with RPG game.
Tree tree tree... I think we can still call it tree. Only skill pre-requirment are gone.
Then again, I am very easily amused.
