In Diablo 2 it wasn't hard to get to Hell Difficulty. And when you were there, it was hard until you received the right items, or leached enough experience to level up to a high enough level. But when you finally obtained the "right" items and reached the optimal level, it became too easy.
How many of you have ever found the "right items" on your own? So how did you get them? Everyone seemed to have them. The game was so broken that it started revolving around the fact that items just seemed to appear in peoples inventories.
I don't even want to see the end of Diablo 3 unless I've spent months (or at least awhile of time) questing, farming and leveling up and that's just with one character. I want the end to still be a challenge when I have all the "right" items. I never want it in easy mode.
When playing D2 before I started playing mods. I have found everything with that character. No muling, no trading. I do not think I had any of the high end uniques or runewords.
I like games to be tough. It may take me some tome to defeat D3 since I will be playing HC right from the start.

On Strike and supporting Fallout 4 Mod Makers
Some fallout 4 mod makers have had their mods stolen and uploaded and downloaded on Bethesda's site for the Xbox One.
I think Hell should not be able to do solo, or just VERY VERY time consuming and challenging for solo builds. Perhaps give those who play SP a reduced Hell challenge, so it's actually possible.
The difficulty is pretty spot on in Diablo 2, I feel. If the economy is fixed and not everyone has uber phat lewt from the get go, I imagine Hell would be pretty challenging for even experienced parties. I am sure they've made extra challenging events with Achievements for those who will ultimately surpass all previous challenges, kind of like how World of Warcraft instances always have extra hard achievements.
I think finishing the game itself should have about the same difficulty level of D2. But the game mut have challenges beyond the last boss. Those challenges would be truelly difficult, even with vry good loot. Only a very small amount of players would be able to accomplish those special challenges.
I think it'd be interesting to have one unique monster that was hard to find and more difficult than any other monster, but all it drops is a piece of crap item that serves only to let other people know you've killed it.
If it's too easy I probably won't play it, even most of the exciting video games aren't doing it for me anymore. But I have been waiting a long time for this game so I'm holding in there.
D3 will most likely be easy..guarantee it..challenging at some points but overall for the HC gamer it will be easy
I have no doubt about that myself. Its just how things are now. Games are often so god damn easy nowadays, but watch out, multiplayer games which pits player vs other players will always be as punitive as they can be, and make sure as many people in the world want to rage quit every day. What the hell?
Sorry, got carried away.
I don't WANT to waste months on a character. Farming is lame, in any shape or form, I never did it. If "progress" is farming weeks to get farther in the game, then the game sucks. This is not an MMO, which are all cursed with that ridiculously stupid system of losing your life to get something.
There is a difference between wasting a pointless eternity to level up and get appropriate items, and having some sort of challenge.
By the way, why do some people insist on having custom text colors? Cut that off... and I mean, light blue over black? Yeah, sure, after I read your text, looking at a wall I still your lines on it. I didn't actually read the whole thing, hurts my eyes.
If it is easy I hope that the mods will be available when I get tired of making the game more difficult for me.
I thought they said there weren't going to be any mods..I think they were talking about for the UI though.
But for real every game is pretty much developed towards the casual gamer and that's obvious because that's the majority of the buyers..Only game I can think of that is recent and is really hard is Demon's Souls
I thought they said there weren't going to be any mods..I think they were talking about for the UI though.
IIRC Blizzard simply won't officially support mod developers by adding official tools or the like. Diablo, while many mods exist for D2, never got caught up in the user content creation scene like Warcraft 3 and Starcraft did.

I didn't really say farming for months. I said farming, leveling and basically playing. I don't mind farming, because that's what diablo's all about. But I agree with you that it gets lame after awhile. I didn't mean to imply that I want my life stolen on top of that. I just want to be able to sit down for an hour or two a day and have something new to do, and not be at end game within a week. I'm sure the more HC (I'm assuming like you?) won't have anything to worry about...
Sorry I just can't get my mind around the fact that you said: "Farming is lame, in any shape or form, I never did it. If "progress" is farming weeks to get farther in the game, then the game sucks." - You have played Diablo before right??? I think you apply to my second paragraph in my original post, WhER3 tTF!11!! did you get your gear from little boy!?1?!....Sorry got carried away..........but srzly.......
P.S. As for text colors....I happen to like cyan.....my favorite song by Rise Against is Like The Angel..and yours is?

Well, I never got any very special gear. I generally never replayed a character through something it had already done.
If I had to farm to go through some point, I stopped playing. I generally could get pretty far with friends.
I never had a lvl 99 character, obviously.
My favorite song from Rise Against is Audience of One.

EDIT: I could make everything yellow to burn your eyes as well you know, but we don't because we are considerate of other people.
blizz strives to make the game fullfilling in every aspect of the game, and if they want to make the endgame, and probably largest time spender of the game to be fullfilling, they are going to have to make it possible to kill mosters and pick up gear enough to keep most entertained and not fustraited.
I have difficulty seeing the game get to that degree of difficulty in something that takes up the majority of gameplay but i guess it could be possible after certain points in Hell difficulty.
I dont see any real brain squelching difficulty in normal combat without adding a tactically maniplative (levers and portals with puzzle like aspects) room with partially impossible monsters inside.
I got to endgame in d2, and got godly gear with all the best game-mashing skill combinations, adn all i learnt was that grinding and trading and rushing for runes were not ideas blizz had in mind for endgame, im guessing they thought just running through dungeons together with friends was enough to keep us entertained. There is actually very little involved in d3 apart from killing monsters, and very little thought going on besides what could make your character better against this type of monster.
Hopefully blizz will take a leap of faith and take a page from the book of fresh ideas, adding something cool.
EG: protecting someone from monsters in a dungeon: you actually have to stop teh monsters from killing the person, and the person actually runs away when being hit with ranged (on low health) and stays a few meters behind you.

YOU ARE APSOLUTELY RIGHT.
Not only in that aspect but thats not diablo at all. That is what turned me away from World of Warcraft is that you had to sign your life away to have a little bit of fun. I am sorry i have a life... I am not saying noone esle dose but I want to feel like i am doing something ALL the time. You shouldent have to get to level 80 to have fun in diablo like you do in Wow(atleast that is what EVERY person tells me) DID YOU GET TO 80... No .... OOOO thats why you dont like it. BULL S@#T i shouldent have to get to level 80 in a game to have fun that is BAD PROGRAMMING and a badd game overall..
