Dont get upset that i told the same what you did, i just agreed with you.
And i did read what you said.
Bwaha not you lol! I'm using your quote since you said pretty much what I said and further proves my point that there isn't much difference in armor in D2.

Ah great so why you arguing about ?
I just explain why it's impossible to having only few kind of looks...
Which is a good thing, if you read what I was saying yesterday I was asking if anybody knew if each piece of armor will be displayed properly, unlike in Diablo 2.
I just bring some info because I know how 3D work !! I thought it's a good info for you but now I think you don't care...
I never be against you, I always thought the same !! But if you don't care how 3D work and want still thinking that maybe Blizzard will merge many armor into a single looks, as you wish. I just said it's a stupid thing with 3D engine, you have the possibility to do it easier in a best way...
And I thank you for telling us what you know about 3D work and how the armor will (should) be affected in Diablo 3. What I was saying was I sincerely hope they do not do what they did in D2, because it is, in my opinion, sloppy and lazy.
I think they are making a great job this time with the looks of our chars, I just hope they don't make huge armor and stuff like that... it wont fit the general Diablo looks imo...

anyway... question answered, thread closed...
OH Fuck!! i keep forgetting I'm not a mod
I also just hope they don't put to much limitation in the character's styles... Sometimes it's nice to change your outfit drasticaly. I"m tired to see the monk allways in orange cloths... We need diversity, alot of it.

Off: Cool avatar btw
Maybe we will be able to change our basic color cloath. Like in Titan quest with dye potions.

Good thing. Ridiculous "thread closed" right away are not needed. Unless a topic is suffering from heavy spam, it'll die by itself when its not needed. No need to stop people from talking about it or things related to the subject.
Not saying this against you (you are not a mod :p), just seen mods do that and it ticks me off really bad.

There is something I agree with and I think is important. A character's look and its armor should have many possible different colors. I definitively won't be playing the Monk if he's permanently stuck orange as he is.
Or maybe some basic customization, so you can just choose a character's basic colors. So the Monk could be orange, or dark green, or black. I'm just not sure what to expect with the Monk and its worrying me a little.

hehe... yeah, I know, (it was just a joke btw :P)
and some day... I will be a mod... and the reign of cowness will start and you all will worship me!! and fear me!!!.. or not
on topic: I liked that idea of selecting your base colour for the naked look or something like that...
[quote name='Jeru5']Ugh... i really hated how in D2 your looks changes only when you equip body armor, helmet and weapons/shields. I agree to cyber, i also wouldn't like gloves and boots to be over sized...
Shoulders is a good thing and noticable aswell. I hope pants will be seen too. The only thing what i really wanted D3 to have is capes... [QUOTE]
agreed. they need to have torso armor, pants, and shoulders instead of just "armor". i also think capes would be pretty tight... but none of those little tiny weird looking "capes" from WoW that are only about a foot long. i hate those.
Cloth armour is pretty plain, yet heavy armour is elaborate. (or epic as the devs put it) When you wear full heavy it look natural, when you wear full cloth it looks natural. But what happens when you combine those styles?
I really had to think about this with shoulder pads. I mean, in full heavy armour large shoulder pads look appropriate, but what if the rest of your armour is really light armour?
I mean, in full heavy armour large shoulder pads look appropriate, but what if the rest of your armour is really light armour?
I understand what you mean but I heard they don't want make exagerate things... I don't know what you want said but "large shoulder" will not be so "large" it's will be real, so I think whatever you wear it's will fit with others parts of your armor... (I hope)
So I poked around a little and didn't really see an answer, so what I'd like to know is if each piece of armor will be rendered on your character, unlike in Diablo 2 where your armor gave you one of three appearances, sometimes a different color. If I change from one pair of shoulders to another, I want to see the difference.
agreed they need to have different images on the character for each slot of armor. so you can see his boots armor gloves helmet and belt.
I figure it will probably be handled closer to WoW.
I'm not sure if I'd want too many options - and dyes and whatnot. That would be putting too much focus on looks. Gameplay > graphics.. I'd be happy playing with a blinking green dot if it was fun.
But, I do love customizability, and customizing your character can be just as fun as any core gameplay. I think it's fairly well confirmed that most big items will be individual pieces, but belts, rings, amulets, probably not.
My favorite game for customizing your character is The Elder scrolls 3: Morrowind. You had control of how: Body, legs, head, individual shoulders, individual gloves, boots, shirt (under your armor) pants (under armor) and robe (over armor) looked. And you also had slots for rings, amulet, and belt, which didn't show on your character.
But the great thing about it was there were a lot of choices, and you'd probably end up with a different combination most playthroughs.
The thing I hate about WoW and WaR and other MMOs is that, even though there are lots of armor slots to change the appearance of your character (especially WaR), your character and everyone in the same class at the same level as you always seems to end up wearing the same thing anyway (until you max out and start going for more unique stuff). Like, what's the point in all these different armor slots if you're going to look the same as everyone anyway?
I'm hoping that in Diablo 3 we won't be railroaded into following the same armor progression on every playthrough, and that even at low levels there are enough comparable different armor sets for characters to look unique.
It's like.. important... and stuff...

What you mean ? monk ?
If you wear that, it's fair to show exactly what you have... no ?
