may be seting as so. Lvl 1 point, lvl10 2 points, lvl 20 3 points.
lvl 1 to 10 1 point is worth more also when you buy the skill lvl the next rank cost more. so at lvl 3 you could have 3 lvl 1 skills or 1 lvl 2 skill and one lvl 1 skill
Perhaps an upgrade system like this?
The more you use a skill, the more it is upgraded.
Perhaps the more enemies you kill, and how many times you "use" a specific skill, you can upgrade that skill.
If a certain skill requires the use of another skill, then it would encourage the player to use and upgrade all skills, or should I say Master them.
Just a thought...

I doubt this concept will be implement !! it's just boring... we already talked about that idea previously in this thread... they have many reason why it doesn't work.
I'll say only one thing, what's going on with passive skill ?

Honestly, you are all making the system way to complicated. Blizzard is known for keeping their systems simple, smart and enjoyable. Not complicated and annoying.
You have spells, when you level up you have 1 point to spend, you can learn spells of your level or upgrade spells you already have. Simple and fun.
You will want to focus on fighting and killing stuff, not reading a 4 page book just to understand how to spend skill points right?
Right  !! well said
Almost peoples don't analyse any side before thinking... and they hurry to suggest there idea without arguments to support it... and some people think them idea are the best and wanting so much to be implemented... I'm not referring to anyone, I just notice that in this forum...
Voted Other. I'm thinking it may be a type of "book system" like Sacred has. You have a random chance to get skill books to drop and would limit the use of gold, because you would want to trade books of another class for books that you can use. This is all just speculation though.

If I want play a fully luck based game, I'll go play a slot machine to casino...
Items are already owned by luck... I want to plan my build !!
Items are not luck based, you can plan it. It is only luck based if you use the ones you find yourself and never ever trade. I buy 95% of my equipment.
Yes items are luck based !! only "legendary" are not and most often you need to trading to get what you want.
I buy 95% of my equipment.
I think you want mean, "trade" even if the vendors will sell goods stuffs in d3...
You always compare with d2 at the end of the game like if the 70 first level of the game are not a game ???

I think we can rule this out almost completely, as said before, what would single players do?

SINGLE PLAYER!!!!! I hate when people forget about it.
I don't think blizzard will make 2 differents game (between solo and multi)
Skill and items mustn't be centralised by "trade". Trade is great, but forced players to trade if they wanted to be strong are a bad idea. You need to be able to be strong without trading...
My main concern with books is
1. this would limit my build. If I have to wait for a drop, that sux. and if I can buy it then what's the point of them dropping besides saving you some gold.
2. In the end every character would have every skill in which case you would eliminate a great deal of replayability. You could limit the amount of books that can be read but then people would have to hold on to a large number of books they don't want just in case they don't get the ones they do want.

Logic can not be applied to this. Logic can not be applied to whether or not you prefer apples over bananas. I read your posts and the arguments you consider to be negative is what I consider to be positive. It is a matter of opinion and logic does not apply to opinion. Logic can only be applied if you have the same opinion and are trying to reach the same goal as someone else.
One example is the question of whether or not repairing should stay. Is that a question that can be answered with logic? Absolutely not. It is a matter of preference. It is a matter of what you like. Repairing might be a completely unnecessary and annoying thing for some, and a fun, realistic and definitely positive thing for some.
Your opinion is not logic!
... false !! every ideas can be logic or not !! yours are not.
You forget something Emil !!!!!!!! respecs skill !! you just don't talk about because you don't know how counter this !!! Books are for a specific skill, you can't regain the same skill !! and if you regain a free skill point ? why implement books ??
I'll repeat, you always analysis with a end game view.
Any arguments you said can be broken with arguments already said previously.
Arguments you said can be fit only in the end of the game...
Level 1 to 30 will be extremely boring and hard to got the right skill you want.
Trade are great but please not for skill !!
When I level up I want choose my skill right now and use it right after...

Level 1 to 30 will be extremely boring and hard to got the right skill you want.
Why?
Because you'll never got the right skill you want, you'll always need to invest time to trade to only find what you want..
When I level up I want choose my skill right now and use it right after...
Yes. So what is the problem?
The problem is : you'll don't have the skill right now, you need to find it... or trade it... Damn it I'm level 2 I want level up, progress, play and fight.. not search for a book and plus I don't have fortune at level 2 so if I don't have cash for trade I can't have a skill !!! level 3, 4, 5... will be the same...
Get your facts right and learn what logic means.
????
Logically
1. this would limit my build. If I have to wait for a drop, that sux. and if I can buy it then what's the point of them dropping besides saving you some gold.

........
I think the book system's idea are obviously destroyed. We haven't reason anymore to continue to argue about, We all know that won't happen... oups not all only Emil hope it.
At level 2 you're not rich yet.. so what I will level 10 time without having a single skill...
If you don't hope that and you know it will not happen why you argue so hard ?
You don't recognize our good arguments and you continue to argue ? but why if you don't want the concept you're fighting for ?

Where is the emil's contradiction ? The guardian of his own idea.
Quoting myself

ehhhhh, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes...
Damn Emil, give up, if you want more randomness play a dice game. Planning build is the funniest thing in the game.
Airandius has right all along !! and yes you won the argument like I won in others thread where Emil argue without arguments
no, you don't have counter arguments, the only arguments you have are already crushed by logical arguments, but you just don't want understand...
just doesn't work lol
ok now I said that i'll read the wall text that both of you've wrote.
Goddamn emil !! Diablo are not WoW, Blizzard try to go far from that *?%/$ !!!
Stop talking about "economy" you're out the track... I explain in other thread...
I read somewhere Blizzard want to do Diablo more for casual gamer. As you said, selfish like you are you just think about you, a hardcore gamer...
You always analysis from a end-game view...
Blizzard won't that !! and I won't stay without a single skill at level 2. And I won't left the action.
I think that Emil having enough good arguments to understand ?
1. this would limit my build. If I have to wait for a drop, that sux. and if I can buy it then what's the point of them dropping besides saving you some gold.
