Like game mechanics and how it all works and what makes the game work and stand out..
I have only seen some diablo 3 videos and there doesnt seem to be any point..
Like enemies come and there is some chain lightning and they are all dead new enemies come and the same lightning and they are dead..
Or a character that spins and kills everything in path and you can do that over and over..
Is there some tactics or is it really mindless killing like in videos?
For something to compare it Im playing Dragon Age right now.
Diablo is a dungeoncrawler/hacknslash type of game with an RPG theme to it.
As for mechanics, it's the same as any single player game. Kill monsters, get better loot, learn more of the story. As you level you gain skills to distribute.

Umm that's about it for basic mechanics I guess.
But is the game as easy as the videos?
I want to have some challenge and not use the same thing over and over until everybody is dead.
Is it just a showcase or is it really that easy to kill masses of enemies.
No, no. Those videos are from testing and the characters are about 10 levels higher than the level needed. Let me see if I can find you a more proper video from the demo.
There in that video you can get a little more accurate of a depiction. Watch the wizards life and how much they have to kite the mobs.

No They even stated that they made the characters have an advantage how much we won't know, but fromt he looks of it at least 5 lvl's higher because they almost 1hko everything. They purposely do this to show off the cool skills and the high level monsters and all the good stuff. But if you really want a feel for how the game will work, go to your nearest game retailer or go to gamestop.com and look up diablo 2 or if your in the store ask for Diablo II battle chest. The all inclusive battle chest will give you not just Diablo 2 but Diablo 2 Expansion pack and Diablo 1. Obviouslly play 1 first short and pretty simpl really not a big storyline but you get the idea. Then play 2 and install the EXP pack with it. When you play D2 you see much more story quests to get to the next act and all those mini stories within stories. Now you've completed them both and just read up on how much story is going to be in D3. They are doing serious work on storyline. Yeah okay it is pretty much mindless killing but hey, now i have a reason to do it

Are there are no health potions in diablo 3?
Those red things are your only source of health?
It makes sense then for some powerful abilities when you have to take care of yourself that much.
Pots are in the game but as backup. As of yet no word on them as to if theyll have cooldown but there is no easy acess liek the pot belt from d1 and d2.

You gotta mention the fact that you have a character and you got full control over it, and you can do amazing stuff and pwn lots of monsters and just get better and beter...

It's an action adventure rpg who's about leveling and finding loot, that's it.
It's about so much more than that.
I think the real experience, for you to truly understand, to come full circle in the series, is to play through each game. Preferably when they were release. If you play the first one keep in mind it was a creepy ass game when it came out.

Its about having fun and a good time!(u'll be fighting the lord of terror, destruction and hate and company which hardly seem like fun though u'll learn to love it once u get going)
Single player or multiplayer. Its pointless trying to explain more than that until u've actually tried it out for some time. If u want to know how to enhance ur gameplay experience, thre will be loads of peopl here to give u tips for that am sure...:)
To me, the game play is a hack'n'slash game. The story is about making balance in the world between heaven and hell, because you can't have too much order (heaven) or too much chaos (hell), it has to be just right.
But that's just my personal opinion.
