They need to incorporate trading back into Diablo. I feel like that was a major part of D2 popularity. I personally would go on D3 to do some trading if I was a bit bored of grinding.
I am getting a bit annoyed with everyone talking about expansion, expansion, expansion, expansion. Diablo 2 got a new ladder reset today. No new content for years. Still many people playing it. No one would be so selfish as to demand Blizzard to pull the plug on D2. And just as a reminder, it's been almost FIFTEEN YEARS since the last expansion for that game has been released. No new content in 15 years, yet the game is going strong. Am I still playing it? No. But I wouldn't go to a D2 fan forum and tell all the people who still love and play it that the game is boring and we should pull the plug.
but I don't enjoy the game anymore! therefore it is dead! blizzard makes this game exclusively for my enjoyment and they suck! wah wah wah! I'm a special snowflake and my opinion is the only one that matters!

damn kids. GET OFF MY LAWN.
I never said my opinion is the only one that matters. I however have the right to state my opinion just like anyone else. Never said Blizzard sucks either. Flame on. Starting to feel a little like nazi Germany here where you can't speak unless it supports the idea that everything is fantastic.

Sorry i wasn't really aiming my post at you specifically or your original post. More at some of the childish comments that have been made in this thread. Its perfectly valid to be bored or done with D3 for now, but it doesn't mean the game is dead, nor should the plug be pulled. For anyone who thinks the game is dead, move on to something else. D3 will be here waiting for you if/when you ever decide to play again, but why clutter up the forums with decrees that the game should be shut down? Why should those who still enjoy the game be robbed of their ability to play the game because someone else doesn't? If the plug is pulled then NO ONE gets to play.
I am surprised at your lack of faith in Bagstone, seeing as you are a regular on these forums and can surely see much of the good that he does here. I'm not about to defend him to the death or anything, but I think we both know him well enough (as a forumite) to understand that his opinions on this matter have been stated as just that, and not as an official ruling by a moderator. In other words, Bagstone is a human being (presumably) just like any of us, who forms and expresses his opinions as a member of the community, and his comments should be considered with this in mind.

Pulling the plug would be a drastic action. D3 is not going to go away overnight, its playerbase is still sufficient enough to promote Blizzard's range of products and maintain the brand name. Ending service for a game and making considerations for a new expansion/title are 2 completely separate discussions and should remain as such. I will agree that gameplay will eventually become stale over time; this is a universal truth, as nobody can be expected to perform the same routine endlessly. As others have suggested, if you are not feeling rewarded/enjoyment from your in-game experiences, consider taking a break or playing less frequently. I have taken numerous breaks from D3 over the years and always seem to come back every now and again, as content is updated.
I wasn't meaning "pulling the plug" nearly as literally as it has been taken. All i was really getting at is that the end game as it stands feels a lil less than desirable. I think there can be a future but not one that relies on an endgame based solely on grinding paragon and pushing gr's.

The whole package, awesome mod.
Lately though, bag has been an instant shoot and kill mod when it comes to people who diss the game. I personally feel that 95% of posts that rip the game are out pourings of emotion from fans that love the game, and that the discussion can go somewhere. But Bag is derailing them instantly, I do not like that attitude from a mod. Contribute or simply perform your duty, why break forum rules as a mod? Expressing opinion and disrespecting someone are two different things, bag disrespected the OP in this instance in my opinion, just my opinion though.
Honestly, I think bags post hints at the issues D3 has. We are all wreathing in agony right now at just what this game could be, but the overall lack of intention and focus from the D3 crew to make the change. In the end, this shows two things. A - We are getting a second expansion and all resources are on that. B - We are getting a new Diablo game, whether it be D4 or a brand new MMO like game (not raids but instead factions and possibly dungeons! with quests and what not!).
In the end, people posting here either love this game or this series. But when it crosses the line and becomes personal, it bothers me a lot, and that is not fitting behavior. I used to get into it with other posters, then I grew up and realized that it is better to ignore them once they take it to a personal level.

I am curious what your own ideas would be to fix the end game? I feel that in order to successfully be objective with a complaint, you also need to offer improvements/fixes that can take discussion in a forward direction.
I personally would like to see some forward movement with the story ie: an expansion involving the rest of the prime evils. I also feel like the loot hunt just isn't here anymore. remember when a leg drop actually meant something? Now it's is more about grinding para and pushing gr's for a leaderboard spot that not very many people will achieve. I think followers should also have more of a purpose besides just a stat stick such as unity in solo play. And I know PVP has been talked about over and over but i think it's a game mode a lot of people would enjoy possibly even with a system where players could put a bounty on eachothers heads. Daily tasks would also work well i think maybe make a new currency reward for daily tasks allowing you to use them on some gear only obtainable in this way. I think the possibilities are really endless.
No offense but your dh is the only char set up properly. I see barbs with ik, ik barbs arent fun.
Your probably bored because your builds are boring. Dont look at the top builds (they arent fun, wait for cd and coe element every 20secs), look for ones that you would enjoy playing.
Thb my profile is way outdated, i switched to console awhile ago and haven't played been playing pc as much due to connection issues(some of which were the connection issues many have been having problems with some due to the iternet being rather unreliable where I live now).
It's kind of an obvious reply, but why should the people who still find any sort of enjoyment out of the game, even though it does not mirror your level of enthusiasm, go without?
My question to you: Are you still playing the game? If so, maybe it's time to stop. I ask because just looking at your armory, you only have 298 paragon levels combined across your account - add in the 600 you earned on console in your signature and that would you at just under 700 paragon levels. That's average. From the way you explain it, you sound like a hardened vet with multiple thousands of paragon levels who is just burnt out. Maybe this just isn't the game for you, and that's fine - but don't try to ruin the experience for others.

I really like the idea of daily tasks that can lead to rewards, and I agree that they need to find a way to keep the story fresh, even in adventure mode!

Your math is way off 298 +600+=898 not under 700 and actually I have gained 343 lvls since i made that signature so 943 +298= 1241. Learn some math

Maybe you should just stop playing then.

The internet is the same on the console as it is on the pc. Maybe you have a virus or something.
From what i heard the console is fun, but nothing like the pc. Maybe give the pc another shot. Can give you a rush if you wanna start season
internet isn't required on console. and actually on console playing online can be dangerous with all the hackers so i mostly play solo or couch co-op.
